  1. although i agree with keeping the team together and getting them to gel, im really not interested in the micky mouse cup. i would rather let Hull have there moment so we can concentrate on the leauge, europe and FA cup. plus, i reckon our reserve squad could undo Hull at the moment...

  2. Diouf is scum and shouldnt be allowed to play football. Professional footballers are supposed to be role models, some slip up (theyre only human after all) and some are too good to let go even when theyve done wrong.

Diouf isnt a good player and has slipped up too many times. Liverpool and Big Sam should both be punished for introducing him and keeping him in this league. i hope he gets a ban and a realistic fine, you know what i mean, something bigger than a weekly paycheck...

  3. up until now only 8m paid right? :) .. so he looks like a good buy.

if he keeps improving like he has over his last few games, he might be worth the full 15 at the same moment Everton will have to pay the last installment.

Moyes knows he bought a project, we're only one year in.

    well said...

The way Sahas playing i'll say he closing on 10mil price tag, excepically if he keeps it up.

agreed, this 5 mill estimation is peanuts, especially since Besiktas or whoever offered 8 mill for him. Then take into account stupidly over inflated market.... 10 mill minimum...

And the Stevie P comment, come on! he is easily work the 10mill+ figure!

  4. i know he can be a little bit of a moaner, but if you want someone who is always vocal and working his ass off, it should be Stevie P. I went with Cahill on the vote because i didnt have my glasses on when i read the list and read 'other' as 'osman' (dont ask, its early). Honestly though, it could be pretty much anyone on the pitch at the moment!

I found this a very good read. Its about the boo boys of England fans, directed at Lescott, when he substituted Matthew Upson. I agree with the writer, i like this guy :D

nice article if a little bitter. was going to point the score out but this reply had me laughin:

  6. worth a gamble i think cost nothing and wont be on massive wages, could be a goo aquisttion to our squad, would have liked to see us keep jacobsen for another 12months like, COYB

I agree, thought Jacobson deserved another 12 months, wouldve like to have seen him more, he mustve been capable and we definately saw glimpses of it. feel sorry for the guy to be honest, he went to blackburn thinkin that he finally has a chance and they bring in Salgado!

hibbert gets to much stick, he has been one of the most reliable and consitent defenders in the prem in the past 6/7years, we should be sticking up for our team not slagging them off

Yes Hibbert gets a lot of stick, mostly down to the fact he isnt always good enough. You can be reliably and consistantly average, which he is. He puts everything in to the game, can cross a decent ball in and makes some great tackles i grant you that. But more importantly, he is slowand makes some big mistakes. An excellent servent to the club, but if it comes down to it now, who do you have at RB, Hibbert or Heitinga?

A lot of his bad performances have come from the fact that hes had no support down the right flank from Ossie, so hes not entirely to blame i know. What i hope to happen is he has a winger in front of him that helps out and that he steps up to fight for his place. maybe we will see him be reliably and consistantly good rather than average. and of course, hope he gets to score!

  7. currently listening to people talking utter tripe in another meeting which will, of course, finish with nothing being resolved but with everyone there thinking that someone else around the table is doing the task theyre supposed to be doing...

this is why im always optimistc about Everton and its setup. it cannot be worse than this....

  8. Hi mate, thanks for givin me something to do at work!

    1) With last seasons injury troubles behind you what are your hopes and expectations for this year?

Honestly, if we find the form we had at in the second half of last season, and when we get Jags and Arteta back, i can see top 4. Weve sorted the right hand side which has been our biggest weakness and brought in some quality players to replace those who left. Biased, sure but still possible. whats likely thought is 6th or 7th...

    2) How do you feel you have done in the transfer window and do you feel you could have brought in more?

wouldve been nice to have brought in more, our squad is paper thin. but, if you look at some of the players who left, eg Van Der Meyde, Valente, Jacobson - all these left but barely played, ie bench warmers. Lescott has gone, and we got Heitinga (a quality defender) Distin (a proven, steady defender) and Billy (an out and out winger). for the first time in a while, we have a complete squad, with a bench of able players too. like i said, wouldve been nice to have more, but cant complain!

    3) What do you think of your new home kit?

I think in the minority here when i say i like it, but then again, i liked last seasons. as long as its blue i dont really care!

    4) How has the possible take over talk been received, would you like Mr Moyes to have access to the sort of money Mark Huges has or would it make you a ‘plastic club’?

talkover talk? i would love Moyes to have the same money that Hughes has, but not sure he would spend it as wildly as MH did.

    5) How do you think Fulham will do this year?

I think Hodgson has done a fantastic job, with the exception of only one dodgy, overpriced signing! i'd give you 8th...

    6) Predictions for the game?

again, biased, but im going with 1-3 win to us, since our away form last year was so good.

    best of luck to ya!

  9. why do people keep putting Billy on the right? he is left footed and has said that he will play on the left for us?

ive put him on the right for 2 reasons; 1. he will be able to cut inside and shoot with his prefered foot and 2. i dont want to split up Baines and Pienaar, since theyve been our main threat for a while and work very well together.

But i would like to see Pienaar and Billy to switch eventually. after Billy and Johnny have settled in the club, it would nice to have the wingers on their preferred sides and therefore, prefered foot...

  10. i really dont see what the big problem with it is. it would be very difficult to implement but not too difficult to maintain. could also go hand in hand with the plan to limit clubs to spending within their means.

off the top of my head (ie, idealworld), a basic "low" wage should be set for each league and players would earn their money in more lucrative bonuses: goals, assists, clean sheets etc and deductions for yellow/red cards etc.

i like idealworld. its nice and fair here...

  11. That's the FA's problem...

But true, this will set a precedent, that we'll have to see just how much will be followed.

    Come on!!!

Doesn't want to get hurt, so he falls down when the ball is still in his reach? You can clearly see him touch the ball out of bounds AFTER he's started his free fall. He never lost control of the ball, he dived, and kicked the ball out in the process. He was expecting to get tripped by the keeper's hands, and it was only blind luck that his leg was lighly caressed by the kepper's knee.

AS for Rooney's, they're not nearly identical, although I wouldn't have given either one. Rooney's only goal is to reach the ball before Almunia. He kicks it so hard he'd never catch it, so his intention is pretty clear, force contact with the keeper, and get the penalty, which is what he did. Eduardo's intention was the same, but he clearly had the time to control the ball, beeing past the keeper, and he chose to dive.

Maybe you have a point when you mention the injury. If the keeper had come out decisively, he could have gotten to the ball, and no penalty would have been given. MAYBE that fear made him too conservative, and he went down, but a decent player wouldn't have accepted a penalty kick from that. And I didn't see fear or hesitation when he ran his guts out to get there to force the contact that never came.

i only saw 2 replays of the incident and didnt notice him touching the ball after the keeper, so i youtubed it and, ok your right. My point with them being nearly identical was that they both went down knowing they werent going to be able to do anything with the ball. Rooney is nearly on his knees as the keeper touches him! and from what you describe, this is a worse offence than Eduardo's, Rooney is actively seeking a penalty and whats even worse, he looks round to argue for the penalty. granted, in the Eduardo replays i cant see how he reacts other than jogging back with the ball in his arms.

as for a decent player not accepting it, ive never seen any professional stop and turn down a pen. only sportsmanship ive seen on the pitch was DiCanio catching the ball in our area from his corner because something had happened. but, that is a 1 in a million event...

  12. I still cannot belive people have Neville and Rodwell before Fellaini, ffs does everyone just have it against him, he's only 21/22 scored a good amount of goals and had countless motm's on here in his first season. he probably still doesnt no a 1000 words in english and still people would be willing for him to sit on the bench whilst players get played because there reputation and not on how they play. <_<

That's exactly why Felli isn't in my starting team; apart from his sub appearance he's been shockingly bad so he's not in the team because of how he's played.

Romey has hit the nail on the head here, this season he has been dreadful, with the exception of his sub performance. I think he is a cracking player when he is fit and in form, and have defended him to the hilt with the arguements youve made (with the additional one that he is just starting his 2EPL season). simple fact is though, he hasnt been very good so far. whether he is just hitting a bad patch of form or not fully recovered from his virus is irrelevent when choosing a team. so far he hasnt been good enough but im sure he will force his way back in soon...

  13. With the rule that the nation that organizes the world cup gets to qualify automatically, I also think it should go to Spain seeing how they would qualify anyway.

If England got into the tournament that way, I'd have the same feeling as when both Switzerland and Austria got to play in the European Championship in 2008 (no England there, right? :D) .. it's like cheating your way into a tournament. :).

Didnt we host the Euros in 96 and get to the semis? i wouldnt mind not having to qualify to be honest, less chance of players getting injured...

  14. I'd reather he became Gerrard then Carsley. as Gerrard is a match winner an a game turner, specially if he gets in double figures each season.

i know what you mean mate, but for me another Carsley is very much needed. He broke up so many attacks and was a huge help to the defence. But i think he will go the Gerrard route, cant see him being as 'firm' as Cars was! Plus, the way he can strike the ball, he could be a match winner...

  15. 2-0, Skippy and Johnny.

right, im going to break the mould here with what i would like to see, seeing as most of the probables are already posted.

    ..........Howard

    Heitinga...Distin....Baines

    .........Neville

    Billy.....Rodwell...Pienaar

    .........Cahill

    ......Saha......Jo

3-5-2. Maybe swap Rodwell for Felli or Osman (Ossie is much better in the centre, he is no winger!). Subs as usual...

  16. Very true, one rationale for moving is the costs for maintenance. If income from the 1st team doesn't cover it then reserves/ladies certainly isn't going to.

It will be earmarked for housing just like Bellefield was supposed to be.

If we move then I will be down there with my chisel getting my piece of history.

youre going to give the board ideas! 10quid a brick/plank! we could make a small fortune!
