  1. Rodwell has pulled out with an injury.

any link for it dude? or any idea whats happened and for how long? im hoping its just exhaustion....

Just proves the England set up dont really watch matches! It explains how Crouch consistently gets in the 1st team squad...

to be fair to the new born giraffe, Crouch has a good record for England. As for them not watching matches, could be that or could also be that theyve got no other choice!

  2. I like your optamism. But being a realist (base on recent performances) I'm going for a convincing loss! The last 20 mins against West Ham we hung on and most of our injuries seem to be long term (best players) so I don't think the team will be much different. I hope I'm wrong though!

i know what you mean, but there is a chance Pienaar, Neville and Ossie will be back to bolster the squad and hopefully Saha will have rested and got rid of this injury. Plus, one of the reasons behind our crap performances i reckon is because its the same 11 playing week in, week out and the break will give them a chance to rest. If we have Saha fit, Pienaar giving us some creativity and Nev back diciplining the team, we could make an upset...

Romey is spot on too, but like i say, if we get these players back i can see us working together better. Having some creativity and experience (Pienaar and Neville) in the midfield will hopefully limit the amount of times the ball gets back to the defence which should result in less hoofing of the ball. if Baines and Pienaar can get their game together, we have a good attacking left field which has done wonders for us in the recent past. Plus, Ferdinand might just be back from his 'injury' and im not sure if Vidic is back from his suspension by then, so there is a chance they will field a weakened midfield.

anyway, there is reason for optimism so im goin with that for now. might reasses my views closer to the game, but im bored at the moment and this has given me something to think about!

  3. im going with 1-1, believe it or not. After a 12 days gap without a game (when was the last time that happened?!) we could have players back, certainly a team rested. Utd will have had players on international duty which will help us (a little at least) and theyve not got the diving nancy who has been the main threat to us in recent years.

Saha and Neville back against their clubs, with points to prove no doubt and possibly Stevie P:

    Anyway, 1-1. Why not...

  4. I didn't mind him that much, he was better than some of the shite that played at the same time as him. Still a pretty dire footballer though. Remember when Ginola played for us? I hated him before hand and hated him even more during. He was bloody terrible at us.

yes i remember. And no, ee wasnt wurth eet... wasnt that the period with Walter Smith decided that all the old, well past it superstars would be good together in a team? Gazza, Hughes in there too? dark, dark days....

  5. I think that shows. It's true though, he started out as a right mid, but the fact that he can defend but can't move a ball forwards to save his frigging life kind of put the breaks on his career as England's right wing meastro. Oh the things Hibbert could have seen and done if he knew how to score a goal, or pass a ball, or put in a dangerous cross, or beat a man... Tony can dream though. Tony can dream.

fair enough i suppose. but at least he has a bit of strength and can put a reasonable cross in... wait, let me just get the JCB to help me dig this hole...

  6. Brett Angel

    Per Kroldrup

    Idan Tal

    Mitch Ward

    Earl Barret

    Espen Baardsen

    Claus Thompson

    Alex Nyarko

    John Spencer

    Gareth Farrely

    Ibrahim Bakayoko

There's just a couple for you to chew on. I could go on and on and on with more players worse than Jo, but I think that 11 is probably enough.

oh god, i'd forgotten about half of them, cringing at the memories. Can we chuck in Alexanderson? never liked him, but that mightve been down to my sisters obsession...

  7. How aware are English people that many if not most Americans automatically think people with English accents are extremely intelligent and know everything? I have an Irish coworker who is extremely annoyed by this phenomenon. It's pretty funny.

i have noticed that actually. it is very strange but also very useful!

Unless we invent something like the AIRPLANE and then we get to call it whatever we damn well please.

had you invented the aeroplane, i would agree. however, since the aeroplane was an english invention, we'll have to go with the correct spelling:

honestly it depends where you read, could be french, english, US or brazil. i actually say airplane myself, but the english cant speak english so there you go...

  8. im going with Howard, without whom it wouldve been a repeat of the away game. I thought Screech was very good in the first half, as were Billy, Baines, Hibbert and the Yak. 2nd half, they all disappeared.

Gosling shouldnt be allowed on the pitch again, nor should Jo (im fed up of defending him now, he just cant deal with the EPL or Europe). As for the rest, they didnt do enough to get a mention, which could be a good thing, could be bad. I leave it to you...
