How am I blessed, you think I'm at the game .
and you call yourself a fan
-
Should have had 2 or 3 by now according to Sky.
-
The last two both dropped him, and their latest has given him the Niasse treatment. See a link I put in here already confirming they wanted rid.
De Gea was also dropped.. Cech was dropped... Courtois was dropped...
So after 6 transfer windows why wasnt a new keeper bought?
Pep also said that the door wasnt closed for him. They have likely bought a new keeper as Hart expressed a desire to leave if he wasnt first choice.
-
Just watched Youtube video of him and I didnt realise how good he was at coming off his line and with his positioning. The amount of great saves he has made by closing the angle and spreading himself was impressive!
-
bailey are you watching? are we 4231 or 343? thanks
No not watching, just the replays on Sky.
Echo says 4231. Holgate at RB just like the Oracle said
-
His errors were well documented. I got laughed at for saying he'll be the best keeper and should have been in the team of the year. You can't argue with the first one, and I'll trust myself over the rats in the media. Guess the same applies to Hart.
Why have 3 managers in a row wanted rid?
Then why haven't 3 managers in a row got rid and still played him week in week out?

The top 3 in Spain are streets clear, but only Bayern are ahead of the others in Germany, maybe with Dortmund if they spring back to life this season.
I would say our results in Europe last season would back that up.

playing against world class competition as well the finest in the championship.....oh wait league 2. FFS i'd expect the U-23 to beat them
-
Replay showed the ball into Lukaku on the edge of the box knocking it around the corner for the oncoming McCarthy who cut it back from near the byline for Lennon to place it into the net.
-
McCarthy with the run and assist for our first tonight... It was a beaut of a sideways pass as well

I find it amazing in this day and age, especially when cameras are recording the whole match.

Anyone recall Hart having a worldie other than one against Barca?
De Gea pulls out the stops at an almost unbelievable rate, most Prem keepers will pull out a few games and win you points. When I've watched Hart he probs has a deficit when it come to gaining /losing goals. Stek has already helped us get 3 points with his saves, with stops I doubt Hart would have made.
Bar one of those stops I would have expected any half decent keeper to have made them.
Hart kept City in the game against Bayern either last season or the season before and I have seen him pull off plenty of outstanding stops. Personally I don't think there is a whole lot of difference in the top keepers with shot stopping, its everything else where they differ.

Using stats to back up an opinion on a keeper is worthless because of the nature of the game. A busy keeper is always going to have the opportunity to have better stats. You could not have anything to do all game and then some whopper from a lower league club smashes one in top corner from 30 yards out because the CB couldn't be arsed to close him down properly as they were already 3 nil up.
There is nothing wrong with Hart's mentality. Bale makes keepers look silly on a regular basis and the other goal he was blamed for was unlucky because he was there but on that day he just didn't get enough on it to push it round the post. The problem is the guy shouldn't have been able to shoot from that close to goal and so easily. Another yard, possibly half yard further out and Hart is given that split second he needed to get a proper hand to it.
I'm sure plenty of you naysayers cream over Neuer yet his gaff in the final was far worse than Hart's.
Hart is an excellent keeper, great shot stopper, leader and as far as I am concerned his distribution is more than good enough for a top team. He is far more commanding and assured that what we have now and whilst I do agree that it seems stupid to pay more for him than his replacement, if he was our keeper he would be a massive asset to the club.

who else will play there o oracle? we don't even have a right wing back in the starting eleven so 2 + 2 = a reserve side not having a RWB either (otherwise he'd be playign for the first team!). it's davies, lennon, or mccarthy, vault me
Oohh someones getting touchy
I doubt we will play 3 at the back so I expect Holgate at RB in a 4-3-3.
-
He said he is gaining an understanding of the position, and that will help his future game as he'll have more of an idea what the rb will be thinking.
yep, same thing as galloway at LB. glad i'm not the only one, thanks pete!
Galloway is a defender who is comfortable on the ball and therefore can play and LB, much like Holgate can on right.
Why would you want to play a midfielder, who isnt even necessarily a defensive midfielder, at RB when he can play in midfield?
-
Has anyone shown Moyes a copy of the league table from last year? According to Moyes "it just cant happen"... Fucking iddyeettt!
-
He isn't a right back or right wing back either, he is just filling a hole.
Davies isn't going to play often, so when he gets the chance to play 90 minutes it will be best for his development to play in his more natural position.
-
Is anyone else looking forward to Big Sams first squad and starting 11?
I think we will see a couple of surprises myself or at least I hope so!
-
Yup, heard that Brahimi makes a mean pie crust. Its the missing piece.
Hahaha
-
Getting rid of McCarthy is madness, pure madness.
-
They still defend in the full back position and are essentially more agressive full backs. Neither position is one that suits Davies!
-
I thought he looked excellent at the Euros as well, certainly not unfit or not able to compete at the highest level.
He would be a like for like with Barry and the question is whether we want that. If Barry got a long term injury before the window I could see it going through.
-
i agree. for all the moves they made recently their roster still looks like a lower mid table side. bojan, shaqiri, arnatovic, butland are quality but on the whole they don't look good. no real striker either.
Yeh no doubt they have quality but they are easier than they ever have been to score against.

They were never expected to be number 1 keepers and never were.
If he was bad as you and Pete make out he would have been shipped on years ago, especially given the money they have!
