Apparently Jags has already said his goodbyes as well so it will be interesting to see if he is in training tomorrow?
-
A supposed ITK (same as the Kone thread) is saying that he will get the number 14 shirt... Doesnt say when it will be confirmed or for how much though.
-
A supposed ITK is claiming this is a done deal with Jags and money going the other way. Supposedly getting the number 6 shirt.
I have no idea whether they are any good but he did confirm the time of the Williams announcement.
-
If he does go out on loan to another Premiership team we should include a clause that stipulates he has to play the full 90 minutes every time we play them
He would still score against us!
-
Plus, wasnt Bony's car spotted in Liverpool the other day? Sure I saw a tweet about it however don't know how legitimate it was!
-
There is no substance other than supposed ITKs and the odd report in a paper who probably have copied off the ITKs to this. I doubt we're even interested. If we were we would have used the Stones deal as leverage to have this wrapped up or well down the line.
We wouldn't sell Stones to themthen return the next day and bid, it would have been discussed and agreed and it would be all over the news by now.
Nothing in this for me.
Its never that simple though Paddock for all that it would be logical!
There is nothing to say a deal hasn't been done, just like the Williams deal wasn't all but done and dusted a few days ago, same with Stones.
I'm not saying that it means its a done deal but I wouldn't rule it out just on that basis.

Rom and Bony as a two up top would be dreadful IMO. They are practically the same player in terms of effort and playing style. We would need someone more mobile and ready to work hard to play off one of those like Long and Pelle did at Soton.

£15m ok? in this market that's a bargain. Clear case of out of sight = out of mind with this lad. Some players need to be played - they can't just sit on a bench for 5 games and be told "right - here's your chance to challenge Aguero for the lone striker spot".
How many strikers have city signed during Aguero's tenure? simply put there any not many better in the world than Aguero so whilst they play one up top its conceivable that these players will get splinters. Only Dzecko seemed to be ok as a sub - I actually think Lukaku would flourish in that role as an impact sub. For me Bony needs to be on the pitch from the get go - engaged in a physical battle. Look at the kip of his shirt after 40 minutes of playing - he always looks like he's been in a wet t-shirt competition, he loves getting out there.
Solid purchase if we get him for £15m - holds the ball up very well. Will operate well with the AM's we have.
Problem is, if Lukaku stays then he will only be getting a few mins here and there and a cup game or two for us as well.
If he can't deal with that at City when they had many more games to play with us then how is he going to cope with that for us?
If Lukaku goes then Bony would be a well priced replacement however if if he stays then buying him would be pointless and we should be looking at someone with more of a long term future that won't bugger off to Africa every other January.

I have heard a rumour, and I stress a rumour, that the main fee will be around 20 mil with add ons amounting closer to 30, albeit the add ons are unlikely to happen (such as winning the league).
Basically Palace want it to look like they are getting a lot because he is a fan fave and they don't want to risk the backlash of supposedly selling one of their best players for a reasonable fee.
The more I think about this the more positive I get. He would be the best winger we have and probably the most consistent too.

I hope the lad does well, hit potential is huge. He should be signing for Barcelona not Citeh though and while until Guardiola properly gets his side playing like Barca or Bayern I fear he could be horribly exposed like he was at times for us.
-
Not sure what to make under Mirallas under Koeman during preseason. He looked lively in those first couple of games but then looked out of sorts since... pretty much like his whole Everton career.

I don't think it will matter where he plays on loan. He is a young lad and he needs games and he can do more than a job at LB and the experience he will gain pushing for promotion will be huge.
-
Not sure how he's not a Stones replacement though; they are both CB so he must be a replacement surely. He can't be in addition to, because Stones has already gone.
I think he must mean that there is another CB replacement in the pipeline... maybe Kone?
-
Not sure what to make of Koeman yet. He talks a good game but as soon as we have stepped up against better and non domestic sides we have looked fairly average however at the same time, I wasn't expecting a miracle change overnight.
I agree on the Stek comments from Swiss. I have seen him a few times and he is no better than Robles, albeit he at least looks more assured. Robles is a great shot stopper IMO but will never inspire confidence.
Jury is out on Gueye until I have seen him play a few more times.
In terms of our style of play, other than being tighter defensive unit (thank God!) and pressing higher up the pitch (thank God again!) we haven't really looked like a cohesive unit and our attacking play has become somewhat stifled. I imagine that Koeman's first plan was to sort out the defensive side first so that is to be expected.
I wouldn't get too excited by Redmond yet as he reminds me of Aaron Lennon but Hojberg on the other hand is a player! I was amazed how little you had to pay for him.
-
I didnt realise he was such a bellend either... I would still probably have him on loan though if City were to pay his wages.
-
I doubt he'll be a flop per se, but I can't see him ever looking like an £89m player. That sort of price means you're a special player and he's not.
Exactly that!

Fourth Official on Twitter has said its a done deal and apparently not a Stones replacement.
He is pretty much always spot on with Everton.

Would anyone rather see Kone or Clev on the wing than Bolasie?
For me we have three good wingers in Kev, Geri and Lennon. But they all blow hot and cold, having four wingers gives us options. If you have two of that four on the bench to come on against tired defenders, that's just another chance to win the game.
The same 11 won't, and shouldn't, play every week.
I actually don't mind Cleverly on the wing in the right game.
I would have Bolasie ahead of Lennon though and probably on at least the same level as Mirallas and Geri however neither of them are worth anywhere near £30mil either!
-
I wouldn't like to see us actively get rid of him but if someone put a decent offer on the table for him then I would seriously consider it. It would be a bit of an upheaval at this late stage but lets face it, this year is about getting our shit together and will we be looking to Jags to lead us for the two seasons after that? Probably not.

Haf, you are dead right. A centre-half needs all those attributes, I know, because I was a centre-half and had them all.
Haha brilliant!
-
good to have you back mate
Thanks mate! Glad to see plenty of the old faces are still knocking around!
-
No chance we will be buying him for that amount. I do see either Koeman or Walsh agreeing to that for a player of Bony's age who is largely out of form.

Mainly from an account that had popped up on Twitter... I'm not convinced because he hasn't had enough information right for me to have that confidence (unlike Fourth Official) but some of the comments are too precise which makes me think it's less likely to be BS.
I guess we will have to wait and see.
