To be fair to Martinez I think his mentality does set him apart from your average manager. He does have to do more with what he has got but with better players being able to attract players may well take him to that next level. Truth is though, would Martinez come here if Wigan stay up? He has built a good young squad at Wigan and when everyone is fit they are a match for most teams. I presume that Wigan will be in Europe next season no matter whether they beat Man City or not and I think that challenge would excite him. Having said that it is hard to see them staying up after Tuesday's result.

I have just read his career to date and its not exactly very promising. Very little experience and he took over an already very successful team (who had set records the previous season under AVB). Dont have a clue how his sides play though and I think that will probably be more important than anything else.

Yeh me too. It will be interesting, however the excitement will all hinge on who it is we bring in. It could quickly turn to despair!

Looks like I will be seeing it after all! I just find it a strange choice for a club like Utd, especially considering Moyes' lack of European experience. However, I cant see many of the top european managers wanting to come in with Fergie above them. Good luck to Moyes if it happens and I just hope the board do their homework with their next manager and make the right choice. It will be tough for the new man especially if large chunks of the squad are broken up. These next few months will be an exciting but scary time for Evertonians!

I will believe it when I see it... Still cant see Fergie stepping down and while Mourinho is still available I dont see why they would go for Moyes (albeit maybe for stability).

Gutted for them. Some of the most ridiculous individual errors I have seen. I thought they were in trouble when Caldwell started but his pass for McCarthys goal was exquisite. However to then play such a stupid pass at that time is unforgiveable. How can someone so experienced be so stupid? The pass was never on. Feel gutted for Martinez because he is short of so many players and even half of them left on the pitch clearly had knocks they were playing through.

I would start Jelavic with one of Barkley or more likely Pienaar behind him. Get Felli deeper to deal with West Ham's aerial threat, give Osman a rest and get Oviedo to on the left and lets play this lot off the park!

Really hope Wigan beat Swansea today... Swansea have taken their foot off the gas a little recently but they are still a decent team and got a good point from Man City at the weekend. If Wigan do win, there will be a collective ring tightening from several Premiership owners!

To be fair he showed a good attitude when he was fighting relegation with Blackburn. He is a talented player who will do well at the right clubs but unfortunately he (and/or his advisors) chose greed over a stable football club.

I always wonder why opposing teams dont press us more... As Jags just showed, as soon as our defenders see an opposition player within ten yards they hoof it away.
