  1. Was a silly free kick too to be honest.
  2. Iwobi playing quite neatly and smartly for once. Well done lad.
  3. Yeah it's weird, it looked like he'd wrapped loads of strapping around the middle of his calves. To be honest no one had ever told him not to do that so why not do something so silly.
  4. Pickford already keeping us in this.
  5. When we have the ball in our back four it's like someone has set the play rate to 0.75
  6. FFS gray had all the time to square that in the middle. so dense.
  7. Look at Pickford berating his defence at that goal kick. Looks like our plan has already gone to shit.
  8. I seem to remember that Holgate filled in at DM once before and did okay. Years ago though when he was still a prospect. Funny that he has been dropped, and now finds himself playing. Not funny ha ha though.
  9. someone remind we while the hammers have i'm forever blowing bubbles as their song. and i know it's not an MJ reference before someone says that.
  10. It’s a ruse to confuse the opposition. However, if I was on the hammers team, Ima be like « let’s totally smash Keane first 20 minutes, run at him, turn him, cave him in ».
  11. Maybe he thinks we’re playing Burnley. Kit is the same.
  12. He played midweek for u21s so maybe a knock or knackered. Bet he comes on second half. (When we’re 2-0 down).
  13. At least it’s a back 4, would have liked midfield 3. Patteron at rb and Gordon instead of Iwobi would have better.
  14. I was reading an old article from 2007 or so that quotes Fergie. He says that bravery and commitment are important, but doesn’t define it as getting stuck in and charging about. Fergie defines bravery and commitment as showing for and demanding the ball even when the team are losing or playing like shite. We’ll need a lot of that today.
  15. Gets a lot of stick which has been deserved on occasions, but what I like about Jordan is that he’s identified the faults in his game - errors, concentration, letting fans get to him - and worked hard to cut them out. Also, I love keepers where they have nothing to do for large parts of a game, but produce a breathtaking save from nowhere that makes you go ‘how did he do that’, and Jordan is one of those. Of all the big value signings in the Moshiri era, he’s the only one that has justified his fee. Our league positions would be a lot worse without him.
  16. Gomes has been terrible since he came back from injury, but it hasn’t always been like that. When he arrived on loan he was amazing - I remember loads of games when his ability to retain and carry the ball with 2 or 3 thugs beating on him was incredible. He didn’t play like Fellaini, but his effect on the ball was the same. For a while, Spurs were going to rob us off him. Whats happened to Gomes - apart from injuries - is that he’s been ground down, like so many other players have. To the point where it looks like he probably dreads even pulling on a shirt. It’s a symptom of the wider sickness at the club, and it’s the thing that really needs sorting out. As for the thread title - we ain’t getting 40 points. We might 35 or 37 and it should hopefully be enough.
  17. Feel sorry for poor Andros. No one wanted him here but he came in with a bright and fresh attitude and he has been involved in most of the good things and bright moments this season. Got to respect and be grateful for that. Not many come back at that age from this type of injury but I hope he does.
  18. I think that Frank is a good manager and decent honest and passionate person. That comes across in spades. If he had been employed at the beginning of the season when confidence wasn’t battered and no injuries we might have done better with the type of football that Frank would want to play. But with this squad no chance. But he’s come in with confidence knackered on our worst run of form ever, and a terrible squad and just doesn’t know what to do. You can see it on his face on the sidelines and in the press conferences. He’s already looking crumpled and overburdened. I think he though he’d come in and things would turn around and come off, because he’s a positive guy and because they nearly always have in his life and career, because he’s a talented hardworking bloke. I also think he’s also struggling because he didn’t expect to be and is not used to working in a dysfunctional organisation with a bunch of lags, softies, nutters and burn outs. I think he’ll likely scrape us out of this mess by luck more than judgement, and I love Frank, but he’s not the right tool for this current job sadly. Unfortunately, we needed an Allardyce like figure to harden the team up, but he’s already been used up by us and even he would have struggled with this lot. Said it before and I’ll say it again: something badly wrong at Goodison that has infected the entire structure. Independent review into how the club is run, top to bottom changes at all levels. A hard reset to the culture and get in a manager that fits the history and style of Everton. It would be a painful expensive and difficult process, but we couldn’t be in a much worse position than now.
  19. Generic opposing teamtalk for whichever team we are facing. "Right lads, we can do this lot. They're all over the place. They'll come at us early doors, but just suck it up and shut them out. After 15 minutes they'll drop back and start to leave gaps, that's when you start to play it round the midfield and their fans will get on their backs, heads will drop. The then chances will come for us - and they can't defend for shit either. One of them will make an error, miss your run or leave you unmarked. And you'll be there to pounce. Guaranteed. After that they'll go to pieces and we'll pick them off.".
  20. How much more spherical can Vieira's head be? The answer is: none more spherical.
  21. How many palace players unmarked in the 6 yard box in that attack? Their next goal just a matter of time sadly.
  22. Defending for the second goal was woeful. Neither Keane or Doucs followed the gentle run of Zaha who was under no pressure to send in the cross. Incredible that from professional footballers.
  23. Lost count of how many times it's happened this season.
