  1. Cool story bro. I would sign him just for that one at 00:45. That was some finish from the lad. Does anyone know what time the club works within? I mean, the transfer window is open 24 hours a day but surely Moyes has to go home and everything so he can't be doing transfers all day every day. I've been spending the best part of tonight looking for Jelavic news to see if his signed but is it a good possibility that serious talks will only begin tomorrow? 11:00 might be past Davey's bedtime.
  2. Bilyaletdinov is the only one that I am going to miss. Beckford looked sharp in his first season and although I would have liked to have kept him longer I think it was the correct decision to let him go, he's only bagged 2 goals for Leicester which isn't good considering they are in the tier below and although Yakubu has found some form at Blackburn I'm sure that he will dry up. Gibson looks like a decent midfielder and Jelavic obviously knows where the goal is.
  3. I'm mostly into Alternative Rock music but I have to say that I do like some house (hence my avatar). Here is what I've been listening to recently, it's from a Swedish DJ called Avincii and it's his new song 'Levels' and I must say that this is the first that I've heard of him. It's nice in the studio, but it really gets going live.
  4. Both marcopaulo and c1982 are correct with Iker Casillas. The fanstastic goalkeeper has managed to rack up 127 caps for the national team whilst also captaining his side to Euro 2008 and World Cup 2010 glory and is still playing to this date meaning that his record gets stronger and stronger. He is yet to score for them however, so he's not as good as Tim Howard! He is the most capped player by only 1 game however as his closest rival is Andondi Zubizaretta with 126 caps (Xavi is third with 107 caps, Raul fourth with 102, Puyol fifth with 98, Xabi Alonso sixth with 92, Torres seventh with 91, Hierro eighth with 89 and David Villa and Sergio Ramos are tied to ninth place with 82 caps). Well done to those of you that guessed correctly.
  5. ACR is a fanstastic game, I've just been side-tracked by Halo: Anniversary and Skyrim so I've not played that much of it. I'm only up to Memory 3 and that's nowhere near the end, the graphics are just as good as the last one and whilst Constantinople is smaller than the Italian cities its really nice to go around, not to mention the huge sea in the middle of it which can provide a nice little escape route to missions. Also, Ezio has a beard.
  6. Nikica Jelavic vs. Kevin Doyle; Jelavic: 30 goals in 45 appearances Doyle: 16 goals in 79 appearances Jelavic is 26 whilst Kevin Doyle is two years older at 28. At his former club Jelavic managed to score an impressive 25 goals in 70 appearances (Rapid Vienna) whilst Doyle scored 55 goals in 155 appearances (Reading) which is a worse return. Although I think that Kevin Doyle would be a good signing I would much rather see us capture Nikica. I think it's already been posted but just in case it hasn't here is the Sky Sports link about him (http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11671/7464428/Everton-in-bid-for-Jelavic)
  7. That is a good tie for us I think. I would rather we played Sheffield Wednesday because Blackpool looked really good in their 3rd Round game and they have some decent players amongst their ranks. I've got a soft spot for them actually and I'd have loved to see Blackpool in the Premier League for a few more years than they had. Having said that, against Championship opposition we really shoulden't be losing - I've put the full draw for everyone below for those that want to see it. Liverpool v. Brighton Everton v. Blackpool/Wednesday Chelsea v. Birmingham Crawley v. Stoke Stevenage v. Spurs Norwich v. Leicester Sunderland/Boro v. Arsenal/Villa Millwall/Southampton v. Bolton I'd say that Liverpool, Everton and Spurs are safely through to the next round of the cup. I think that Chelsea should beat Birmingham but they are so hard to predict this season and that goes for Crawley Town too, they are a really good side even though they are in League Two and I can see them causing a real upset against Stoke City. Norwich could slip up against Leicester (I'm actually hoping they do as it would add more lower league teams to the next draw) and the last two ties are hard to predict as we don't know who will be in them. I woulden't guarentee Bolton's ticket to Wembley just yet, Millwall and Southampton would fancy their chances against the Trotters I think..
  8. Agreed. We have no money and it is likely that Doyle will come with a pricetag. If it comes off then I will shit kittens because when I saw that we had a thread about him I nearly cried with excitement, he is a proven goalscorer who would end our drought up front, pushing us up the table in the process. Kevin gets a big thumbs up from my end.
  9. I'll be going for a big fat zero too. The only one that came to mind was Gianfranco Zola but I am sure that he was only ever in the squad when they came 2nd under Claudio Ranieri to Manchester United, I think he retired the season that they reached the top. Maybe Carlo Cudicini picked up a winners medal being Petr Cech's number two? But again he might not have played enough games - I'll go with zero. Also; Zoo's Question of the Day Round 3: Who is the Spanish national teams most capped player? Answer: Iker Casillas (127 caps with 0 goals).
  10. Nah, he woulden't have managed 10 internationals without pulling up his hamstring! On the topic of my question marcopaulo has managed to find the two missing players; Dennis Law who won the award in 1964 defeating two Spanish players in the final, Luis Suarez and Amancio and George Best who won the award some years later in 1968 getting more votes than team-mate Bobby Charlton and Yugoslavian Dragan Dzajic. 2 points to you my friend.

Blimey! You don't forgive and forget easy do you?! It's usually straight after all the games have been played at last once I think, so tomorrow night. I think I remember last season Noel Gallagher and the guitarist from Kasabian did the 5th round draw straight after a match had been played.
  12. A tug-of-war between Fellaini and Donovan for me. Fellaini looked composed on the ball and even though I think he has played well in recent matches this was an outstanding display from the Belgian. He took every ball that came to him and laid it off to one of our own in blue and despite two errors towards the end around the centre-circle that allowed Fulham to attack he did a real good job for us tonight. Donovan looked pacey on the wing and looks like he's really coming into his own for us. I wish we could sign him on a permanant basis and his cross for Fellaini's goal was top class, if that had not of been spot on then we would be bickering about a return leg at Craven Cottage. MOTM - Fellaini.

Round Five here we come! Didn't think I would have been saying that at the end of tonight, I have enjoyed every minute of tonight which is something that I can't have said in previous weeks. It might seem like a cliché but can we build on this now in the Premier League? I'm so glad that Stracq got his goal for us and even more pleased that we are in the hat for the next round, Wembley is but a whisker away!

If you are going to come out take the ball Howard, nearly cost us the fucking game there. Corner to Fulham when it could easily have been 1-1. 4 minutes added on says Mr.Webb Can you blame us with just one minute (plus added time) to go?

He's just got it. Stracq has just been replaced by Big Vic (who told him off for leaving the field too quickly). I'm guessing that we are going to play for the win now (i.e - defend) seeing as there are only about 6-7 minutes remaining at Goodison.

Another beauty of a header from TC as he hits the bar from only a few yards out, Stockdale didn't seem to comfortable with it and we end up with a corner, it could have been 3-1 and maybe should have been. Come on Everton! We can do this! I'm still peeling myself off the floor from Pip's step-overs.

Fellaini scores; 2-1. Header, assist from Landon Donoavan (72') A really nice header in which Maro towered over the Fulham defence and headed the ball over Stockdale and into the Fulham net, we surely should push on for a third but with just 15 minutes to go we need to keep our defence as tight as a ducks arse.

Are you watching on an internet stream Mike? I want to watch the game but I don't know what the websites are to watch this kinda' stuff, I'd appreciate it if you could link me to a decent website (that is, if you are watching live). I love Stracq and hopefully this goal will give him the confidence to score more, I just hope that Moyes gives Stracq the nod for our next league game instead of Louis Saha.

The subs have just been announced as; Hahnemann, Hibbert, Saha, Drenthe, Vellios, Anichebe, Baxter. Two questions for me: Where is Jan Mucha? This is the second time that he has not been our second keeper in a cup match (Hahnemann was on the bench against Tamworth too) and why isn't Vellios starting? The potential that he has is unbelievable yet he still dosen't play, it gets on my tits it does! Oh and another thing, how did you get the team-sheet from Martin Jol's pocket Mike?
  21. Well done Pete, Cristiano Ronaldo won it 2008 beating Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) and Fernando Torres (Liverpool) in the final. I'm unsure if that was a geniune guess or you helping Pete but seeing as you mentioned Charlton I will give it to you! Bobby Charlton won it in 1966 beating Eusabio (Benfica) and Franz Beckenbauer (Bayerm Munich). It was close however as Bobby won the award by just one vote.
  22. Zoo's Question of the Day Round 2: Four players have won the Ballon d'Or whilst playing for Manchester United. Name them all; 1) Dennis Law (1964) 2) Bobby Charlton (1966) 3) George Best (1968) 4) Cristiano Ronaldo (2008)

Nope. If Distin is fit then Distin will play. Moyes will play his more established players when he can and has shown that on numerous occassions this season so sadly if Distin has a chance of being fit for the Manchester City game then I expect him to start above Shane, just like if Phil Jagielka was fighting fit again.
  24. My life is now complete.. thanks J! Bollocks. The Blue Union is doing more damage than anyone to Everton Football Club.
  25. Joined. I hate the Blue Union. I think it would be in the club's interest that Bill Kenwright left and we had a new chairman but I am 100% against the way that Kenwright has been treated. A man that has put his own money in his pocket for our club (albeit a small amount) does not deseve the abuse that he gets, the Blue Union are making the vasy majority of our supporters look like idiots and scumballs when in actual fact that Blue Union is a small minority of our fan-base. I remember a wonder post from Romey 1878 a while back who hit the nail on the head by basically saying - Bill Kenwright and the Blue Union bicker like children whilst the club we love goes under. The Blue Union does more harm than it does good and the sooner it is closed the better.
