  1. Not got Sky Sports in the house so I can't join you at Yellow Bar HQ! There is a report here saying that he is almost ours and that Moyes is still looking into bringing PSG star Hoarou which would be very nice, even if it's only on loan. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/30/everton-nikica-jelavic-rangers?newsfeed=true) Wikipedia keeps saying that he is our player too, so surely the deal is done. Maybe they are just saving it till the morning so that they can officially unveil him (i.e - hold a press conferance right away etc..)
  2. Bugger, maybe you're right C! I'll word my questions better next time. I just thought that it might have been a little hint seeing as it's such a vast topic. You've guessed correctly anyway, Cantona scored a hat-trick for Leeds United on the 25th of August 1992 against Tottenham when they won 5-0 at home. It was the first hat-trick seeing as the Premier League started that year. The second one came in November on the 9th when Mark Robins became the first English player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League when Norwich beat Oldham Athletic 3-2. Zoo's Question of the Day Round 5: Who is the only goalkeeper to have scored a hat-trick at proffessional level? Answer: Chilavert scoring three free-kicks in a single match for his club.
  3. In all my years of supporting Everton I've never known for us to have had a Plan C when it comes to buying players. Kevin Doyle would be nice (as would Vossen) but in my opinion they arn't in the same ball-park as Jelavic. I'd rather we signed Jelly but if we don't then I'd be happy with Kev and Voss. Let's just see how tomorrow night pans out! I'd all be for sending Baxter up north though for some experiance (maybe even at a push Vellios just so long as they don't sign him).
  4. Nice, thanks for that. We should get Jelavic for the right price considering the financial crisis that is going on at Ibrox. I'd imagine come Wednesday Manolas and Jalovic will be in our team and that is something that I'm happy about even if Manolas might not feature regularly because of his age. Plus £500,000 is good money in this day and age. A good bit of business from Moyes - thanks for the link Duncan.
  5. My thoughts too, he is going to be a really good signing for us and he will be a signing that we actually need. At the worst case scenario he will be asked to play alongside Louis Saha which could still allow him to score goals (and hell, maybe even give Louis some assists), either way I'm very happy with this rumour and I'll be really pleased if he comes to us. However Glasgow Rangers still believe that he will come to us. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/9049488/Rangers-hopeful-of-keeping-Nikica-Jelavic-as-Everton-wait-in-wings.html)
  6. I'm 18. But that's only in Animus years... I watched that with my ex-girlfriend (obviously when I was still with her) and the only good part about that film was when Jolie got her arse out. The rest of it was total bullshit. I still to this day can't believe that my ma called her a 'minger'. It's the closest I've ever come to violece against my own family.
  7. I don't really like talking about it too much out of respect for Gary but I find it hard to believe that he has hanged himself by 'accident'. It's also very sad what he has done because I'm sure that every couple has arguments and every couple has bad patches, it's just really tragic that the differences between him and his wife have caused him to take his own life. I find it confusing as to where he did it too, as initially he was supposed to have done it in the garage but there is a mention of a banister - who has a banister in the garage? He is still missed and after meeting him it's all the more upsetting. I hope the press don't go too over-board with the story because there really isn't a need, he was a good man and someone who should be allowed to lay at rest.
  8. Because he is 99% an Everton player, something which I am very happy about. This could be an end to all our troubles up front and with Jelly up front we could start to compete for Europe in years to come. Pat on the back for Moyes is in order folks!
  9. I'm guessing this is you then ? I am your ancestor J...
  10. I'm having a bit of a mooch around their YouTube account now, at the moment the one song I posted is the only one I've heard from them. I've no idea how I got into them and I've no idea what it was about the song you posted that reminded me about them but they do sound pretty decent! It's a shame bands like Sherwood arn't more recognised. Edit: Another awesome band that I've not heard in a while 'Voicst' from the Netherlands. This is a song taken from their album 'A Tale of Two Devils' which is pretty good (even though it's a tad mad in places).
  11. For some reason that song Romey posted reminded me of this one by Sherwood. I've not heard it for years and I've no idea what the band are up to now but this is a good song from them. It's taken from the album 'A Different Light'
  12. I had heard about that Mario Balotelli song but didn't actually know if it was a joke or a real song! Not into Tinchy Stryder or that kinda music but it still made me laugh for the 30 seconds that I watched of it. I'm currently listening to the new single from Welsh band Feeder. Their last album 'Renegades' was a bit of a letdown but their other stuff has been really good, 'Silent Cry' is a quality album along with 'The Singles' which has some amazing numbers on it. This single is taken from the album that is out soon called 'Generation Freakshow' and features the reletavly new drummer Karl Brazil.
  13. West Ham must hate us! First Jelavic and now Eder. I don't know too much about the player myself but anyone who says 'I want to play for Everton' gets a big thumbs up from me. Signing young players is the key to any team for the future and if we can pick up this lad for the right price I will be a happy man.
  14. Rangers have probably told us to up our bid but I'm sure Everton will stick to their guns. Jelavic has come out in the press and said that he wants a move to the Premier League (i.e - Everton) and there is also a rumour that he has demanded Glasgow Rangers to lower their asking price so that he can join us. West Ham have offered more money than us but the player himself does not want to move to a Championship club which is why we lead the race to sign him. The article above does not bother me, considering the finacial trouble that Rangers are in we are in control of the deal.
  15. I've been to Florence and it's beautiful although I haven't been to Monteriggioni. I've also been to Venice and Rome (before the game came out) and it's really nice to run around the city noting the places that you've been to. I remember showing off the Assassins Creed 2 game to my Dad and one of the things that baffled him the most was that I was able to give him an accurate tour of Rome with Ezio through the game. The work that the devs have put in with locations is nothing short of amazing and I am really jelous of you J, I wish I could go Monteriggioni </3 ...send us a video of you performing a Leap of Faith?
  16. Modern day Assassins Creed would be a load of balls and I think that Ubisoft know it. I've not finished Revelations but I'm quite happy that Desmond's story is coming to an end as I would much rather play with the assassins than him because he's such a dull person. He has the charisma of a wet fart and in the time that I've played with him I've learned nothing that warrents him to return in the next installment, for me the Assassins Creed games should focus more on the ancestors rather than the modern day people at Animus HQ. Egypt would be nice though - Leap of Faith from a pyramid, locating your target from footprints in the sand (eagle vision) and the tombs that you can raid would be the actual tombs of the pharoahs, maybe even the biggest tomb (similar to the Romulus tomb in ACB) would be Tutenkahmuns (sp) and you could get something cool off him. Just an idea, but would it work?
  17. Would you be happy about moving to Wigan? He's going to leave Bristol City for a club that is playing on borrowed time in this league, he might aswell just sign an extension at his current club because Wigan Athletic is hardly a step-up from what he is doing now. At the beginning of the window I would have pushed Moyes to sign him but given the players we are linked with now (Jelavic, Hoilett) I say keep well away. Fantastic representation of our club Haf!
  18. Fair enough, I thought that Manolas was an established player (like I said I know next to nothing about him) so I can see what your saying. If that's the case then he will probably end up on our bench or in the reserves until the time is right. Distin could well be on his way soon and although it upsets me to say it so could Heitinga should a big offer come in from a big club. Jagielka would probably be our first choice centre-back and then we'd have to see which of Duffy and Manolas is the better (haven't seen Manny play so he might be better than Shane...)
  19. Nope. Zaha is nowhere near as good as both Jelavic and Hoarou and for £5,000,000 we could have much better players. His transfer fee would use up all of the Billy money which is something that I would be furious about, the one time we get millions and we look into the lower leagues. I'm happy this January because we are actually linked with players who have class. Not to mention the fact that he sounds like Saha so will probably be lazy... and his goal-scoring record is poor, even for a winger/second striker (66 games with 3 goals).
  20. One of the most emotional games I've watched - I love it when we win on penalties! I hope we don't meet Chelsea but if we do then I woulden't be as frightened as I have been in recent years. They are not the team they once where and if we had a go at them then we would probably get a result. I'll be hoping that one of the lower league teams go through and we get them though (i.e - Crawley Town, Millwall).
  21. Any player that demands to come and play for Everton gets a big thumbs up for me. I do honestly believe that when he comes to us he will play like a whippet and prove to everyone what he can do in the big leagues, I'm excited and I'll be even more excited if we snatch Hoarou on loan from PSG (which I do believe could happen). I don't know a lot about the AEK defender Manolas but I'd welcome another centre-back for a small fee, whilst Duffy has proved he can play in the Premiership he is still young so another loan spell will do him no harm. This might actually be the first January where I am happy with what we have done - 5 signings is unbelievable for a club like us.
  22. Surely it has to be Thierry Henry, he has scored plenty of goals in all competitions so he's bound to have seen a hat-trick in each of the ones in quetion. I'm sure I can remember him netting a hat-trick against the Shite way back when they had that un-beaten season so I'll guess for him. Zoo's Question of the Day Round 4: Who was the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick? And for which team did he score it for. Answer: Eric Cantona for Leeds United against Spurs on the 25 of August 1992.
  23. They have said that the series is nowhere near over and there will be plenty more assassins to play with. It has been confirmed that ACR is the last game that will have Ezio as the main character which is why there is so much speculation over AC3. I would have guessed it's set in Egypt due to the tomb that was found in the previous games but after playing the DVD DLC it's strongly hinting at New York (the GPS co-ordinates that Ezio and Da Vinci find).
  24. I liked the Desmond side of the game but I'm getting bored of it now, it dosen't tend to lead anywhere and due to only being able to play as him for a short space of time I don't feel all that connected with him. I mean, if for some reason he dies in the next game I woulden't be bothered because I've not been given enough of an insight into his character. Animus Island for me was strange but I'm only up to M3 and I've not unlocked any of the special stuff (unlocked by collecting Animus pieces round Constantinople) so we will have to see how it pans out. It's also a strong rumour that the new Assassins Creed, Assassins Creed 3 will be set in America during the Revolution. Word of warning, the link does provide some spoilers about 'The Da Vinci Dissapearance' (http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Rumor-Assassin-Creed-3-Set-During-American-Revolution-39051.html) Although at the same time as this announcement there is a stronge rumour that AC3 could be set in Egypt. Thoughts?
