  1. I never understand why people push players out of the way when they are not the penalty taker at a football club. I mean, Louis Saha woulden't push Tim Howard out of the way for a goal-kick? And I'm sure Shane Duffy woulden't start mouthing off with Tony Hibbert because he wanted to take a throw in. I can understand that a penalty is more than likely going to get you onto the score-sheet but when it's something as important as a penatly kick then you should have your penalty taker taking it every day of the week because if goes wrong then you look a twat and you lose the opportunity of an easy goal. Sporting were at 1-1 and in the 92nd minute which would have meant that a goal would land them three points, what Bojinov did was bizarre and I can understand why Sporting are angry - no sympathy from me.
  2. I don't know the ins and outs about his time in Spain so I won't argue with you but he played 32 games for Athletico (scoring 3 goals) so he can't of been that bad if he's played nearly every game. I do think that he would prefer to play his trade at Everton than Mallorca though so for the time being I'm not worried, if it comes to it I guess that Moyes will give him higher wages to make him stay..
  3. Listening to a decent cover of David Guetta's new song 'Titanium' featuring Sia which has been released after his latest album 'Nothing But The Beat' which was awesome. Below is the cover and the orignial for those that want a listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_O2xzp8BVg
  4. Barcelona 2-1 Real Madrid; Although this goal did not have the same genius as Alves' it was still well taken and showed just how composed Cristiano Ronaldo can be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzlCc74FRjE&feature=relmfu Barcelona 2-2 Real Madrid; The final goal of the game, Real Madrid made it 2-2 with Benzema after a nice big of ball juggling and an expert finish past the Barcelona stand-in goalkeeper. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byNdSANx66k&feature=relmfu Final Score; 2-2 which meant that FC Barcelona won the tie 4-3 overall. Cope del Ray champions?
  5. I didn't want to start up a new thread for the El Classico game so I thought it would shove this post in here. For me I didn't see any of it because I coulden't find a channel on my television that was covering it but I did follow it on the text. Dani Alves goal was nothing short of amazing, to beat someone like Iker Casillas you need to do something special and that certainly was that (video below). I've found all the goals on YouTube and posted them so everyone on ToffeeTalk can add a bit of El Classico to their lives, what a great way to start your morning. Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid; Questions have to be asked over Casillas for me, he could have at least dove for the ball and made an effort but a stunning pass from Leo Messi and a great finish from Pedro to open the scoring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEybFB3R7PE&feature=relmfu Barcelona 2-0 Real Madrid; Alves' goal - awesome.
  6. I'd be fine with the transfer to get him off the books but it just annoys me how we have spent our own good money paying him a salary for the past 6 months and are then shipping him off with him having about 12 minutes match time. If Moyes is going to sign a player then he needs to play him rather than leaving him on the park bench and getting rid a few weeks later... Can we not ask Burnley to stick £500,000 down just to make us feel a bit better?
  7. I have pretty much the same opinion as Goodison Road and Uncle J. Malaga would be a lucrative move for Johnny as he would be moving to a club on big wages who in the next couple of seasons are looking to reach the peak of La Liga so I woulden't be surprised if he moved there after already starring in the Spainish league with Athletico Madrid. A large packet of wages twinned with the ability to have Champions League football each season(and play with some top players) is something which I think Johnny would take. Mallorca would be awful however. They are a shite team who are probably going to be playing in the second tier next season, the only good player to come out of their end of the world was Samuel Eto'o and look how quickly he fucked off. In other words - please stay Johnny, I love you<3
  8. I'd be gutted if Heitinga went, he has been one of our best players this season and the only way that his departure would be good is if we managed to get £30,000,000 for him (which isn't likely). For me he must be on our 'not for sale' list and I would be fuming if Moyes lets him go for a figure similar to Bilyaletdinov. He is under contract until 2014 and I really hope that he sees that contract out. (http://www.insidefutbol.com/2012/01/26/real-mallorca-sniff-around-everton-defender-john-heitinga/56917/)
  9. Just done a quick google search for news on him and it's saying that both Fulham and Werder Bremen are in for him. He signed for Arsenal from fellow German-team Borussia Dortmund meaning that he may well go back seeing as he knows what it is like to play at the Bundesliga and this is arguably where he had his best spells of football. I'd take him to be honest, it would be someone who I woulden't mind spending the Billy money on, the question is whether we can keep Fulham and Bremen away from him while we sign a deal. When did he go to Birmingham on loan?
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i59omdzNq_I Proof that Turner was good enough!
  11. James Vaughan is the Premier League's youngest ever goal scorer after scoring aged 16 years and 270 days proving that you can play in the Premier League aged 16. This is the youngest I think you can play however I do remember a news article a while back saying that Derby County were playing a 15 year old.. maybe the rule is just if you have a proffessional contract (i.e - not an Academy one) then you can play it's just that usually aged 14-16 your not good enough for the pro leagues. Edit; Here is the lad; Mason Bennett. He has played for Derby County even though he was aged 15 at the time (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2051747/Mason-Bennett-15-year-old-misses-Derby-debut-school.html)
  12. I coulden't really argue with that. Onuoha does look like a nice player at the back but thats not really what we need, we've got injury problems at the back but Duffy has proven that he can step up to the plate and play with the big boys. I see no reason why we should invest funds heavily into defence when it is so obvious that our strike force is in need of repair.
  13. We could hi-jack the deal given that we have the £5,000,000 for Billy to play around with I just don't see how we are going to meet his wage demands. If he is going to QPR then there is a good chance that he is going to be going on major bucks (sad really) and I don't think we would be able to compete with that. I hope they still go down and then he'll probably end up coming to us due to not wanting to play week in and week out in the Championship. Edit; It's saying here that he is going to have his medical with Mark Hughes' QPR within the next 24 hours. If this is true then we need to look someplace else, good luck to him. (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/latest/2012/01/25/onuoha-heading-for-loftus-road-115875-23720294/)
  14. Cudicini could have been a fanstatic player because he had the quality I just think that had a tough time at Chelsea with the arrival of Petr Cech and then never really pushed himself when he moved over to Spurs. Italians do seem to flop over here but you do seem to get some gems such as Paulo Di Canio and Gianfranco Zola. I'd pay anything to have those two side by side in my team on their day.
  15. Not to be an arsehole but shoulden't that have gone in the 'Rumours without a link' thread? It's not from Twitter mate On topic; that lad looks promising. He's only 24 which means that he's got a good 6-7 years ahead of him where he could potentially shine for us and he's angling for a move to the Premiership which would make us seem a whole lot tastier than Rennes and given that he's bagged 24 goals for both Paris Saint Germain and his first club FC Sochaux it seems that he could be a winner. For PSG he has scored 24 times in 59 games, in comparison Louis Saha has scored 29 times in 97 games - let's sign him up please? Apologies.

    Fulham on Friday

Your away record dosen't come into it mate we are playing some of the worst football in the league. We are struggling to put just one goal past a team nevermind two or three so basically if you dink the ball past Timmy Howard the games yours. It's sad to have to be this way because I love Everton to death, it's just I really can't see how we are going to get the better of you (because I've always had a great deal of respect for Fulham). David Moyes has done a great job and there is no denying that, with the right funding I believe we could have been in the Champions League now. We qualified for it a few years back but never got into the group stages but I believe with the right funds we could have built on that and started to become a real European threat, I guess the board have screwed us on that one - not to mention that we should have won the Europa League rather than Zenit about three years ago. And AJ is looking good, I'd have him back anyday, not because I think he is who we need but because anyone is better than King Louis!

    Fulham on Friday

I'm really worried about this game. Clint Dempsey along will destroy us on Friday night. On paper I think that we could well beat you and progress into the next round but on recent performances I just don't see how we are going to get a result. At the back we look shakey (even when Duffy plays) and with players such as Dempsey and Zamora going at us I just can't see how your not going to score past us. Up front our options are non-existent, Louis Saha might well score against you a lot but I'll show my arse in the middle of Liverpool if he manages to slam one past Stockdale, if we play Vellios up front then I feel sorry for you because he might bag one or two but sadly Moyes won't play him because of his age. Our midfield isn't too clever either, Phil Neville has been poor of late and players like Tim Cahill just arn't up to their known reputation, we are a team that are living off past memories rather than playing the players that are going to get a job done for us. All in all you should come to Goodison looking to get a result. It's a really good time to be playing us and I'll predit that you come away with a 3-1 win. I must have said it a hundred times but if I could have anyone playing for us at the moment it would be your Clint, he's a machine. Fancy swapping him with our Phil Neville?
  18. Jeffers only played a handful of games for Glasgow Rangers so I really doubt that he would have got a winners medal and be credited as a champion. I'm sure he's won it with Arsenal though as he was in the same team as Gio, it's just how many games he got under his belt at the Gunners as to whether he is classed as being in their winning team.
  19. Heard this song on the radio whilst I was at work today. It's taken from All Time Low's newest album 'Dirty Work' and it's rather awesome. They've made some good songs these four, I recommend that you take a look at their previous albums 'Nothing Personal' and 'So Wrong, It's Right'
  20. I didn't have high hopes for signing him. If he is Italian born and a host of Italian clubs are in for him then there is a strong possibility that he is going to stay at his home country. It's going to get him more exposure to the national team too if that's something that he's going to be aiming for (not sure what his age is like). I'm not too upset over this, I don't know much about him and I'm sure there are better players in the Premier League that we could buy to replace Bilyaletdinov.
  21. So just because you've been here for 8 years means that you can go around the forum whinging? No matter how long someone has been on a forum they have a right to engage into a discussion. Your a member of ToffeeTalk and so am I, you have the exact same rights on here as I do so stop pretending that just because your joined the forum when Maggie Thatcher was PM you can talk to people like dirt. And yes, the forum is blue. The actual posts may be white and grey but the forum itself is primarily royal blue so unlucky with that argument, even the ToffeeTalk logo is blue for christ sake. But anyway, carry on moaning if you want, if thats how you like to spend your free time - I guess I'll just have to wait another eight years before I can start picking you up on it.
  22. Germany and Spain are the only two teams to have qualified by winning every single game. The Netherlands are just behind them as they won all their games bar one against Sweden (lost 3-2) so those three teams are the ones to watch out for. I don't think you can rule out the World and European Champions from having success again though, they have looked unstoppable over the past couple of years... Due to his injury Gerrard hasn't been in the England team and I hope to got he dosen't get re-called because we have played so much better without him. If Gerrard and Lampard play together then we will have a repeat of South Africa and end up embarrasing ourselves in front of Europe. I just hope Capello has the balls to pick the team he wants rather than the team the press wants.
  23. We/I don't know how much the banks are pressing us though. If we hadn't of sold him and cleared up the £5,000,000 they wanted then maybe we would end up in more shit than we are doing now. The part I can't understand though is if Moyes, Elstone and the rest of the board knew that the banks wanted £5,000,000 then I would expect them to push for more so that we could pay off the debt and still have money to spare (I mean, sell Billy for £7,000,000 and use the leftover £2,000,000 to buy someone else). It just seems that there is a lot going on behind closed doors at Everton that we do not know about and I doubt that will change anytime soon. Sad really. On the plus side if it's all bollocks we have a nice £5,000,000 to play around with. Messi anyone?
  24. One point to you my friend! Rivaldo has scored 34 goals in 74 caps for Brazil which makes him overall the 5th highest goalscorer. Only Pele (77), Ronaldo (62), Romario (55), Zico (52) and Bebeto (39) have scored more goals than him and due to him still playing for Kabuscorp SC in Angola he is eligeble as an answer to my question. His record however may be broken should Ronaldinho be re-called to the Brazilian team and earn his 94th cap - he is only one goal behind him on 33.
  25. @Bill: What a load of bollocks. This may be the smallest forum but that dosen't mean to say that it's the worst at all, I've been a member on many forums and this is by far the best one that I have come across. You say that it needs a change in colour but I don't see the problem with having an Everton forum royal blue, if someone came to an Everton forum and saw it was red I think you'd create a whole lot of confusion. You mentioned that people were starting pointless threads (for example; What are you listening to?) which is yet another ridiculous critisism, I challenge you to find a forum where there isn't a 'What are you listening to?' thread because that's in every forums off topic no matter what its all about. The whole point of an 'Off Topic' section is to get away from what your talking about in the main forum and just have a laugh, people use the Off Topic section daily so whether the threads in there are pointless or not they are being used which must mean that a fair few people like them. I do not have a Twitter account but you can't deny it's the biggest social website on the planet, probably larger than Facebook and this is an excellent thread for people like me who want to find out whats happening on Twitter with regards to Everton without having to make an account. This thread has a purpose. If you don't like the forum then leave, it's not hard and it's not like anyone is stopping you. Just stop moaning and complaining about things that you have a problem with because you are in the minority.
