Louis
I read that Kitbag.com have outbid JJB to become the official merchandise partners as of the 2009/2010 season. I asked Kitbag to confirm it but I was told "I have no further news on this." so it looks to be true.
MikeO
I have no idea who Kitbag are (I'll have a look) but JJB are fucking useless so they can hopefully be no worse!
Louis
Also Mike.. the new kit manufacturer rhymes with your name.
JamesN
Also Mike.. the new kit manufacturer rhymes with your name. that's what i like to hear. Always been a fan of the design of their kits. When does this take effect? Same time as the JJB switchover? Saying that though, I'm a big fan of the dark blue 3rd kit... Wear mine all the time
MikeO
Also Mike.. the new kit manufacturer rhymes with your name. Which part....my Christian names are Mike Assunbro Waddi Dassuma Sheebock-Rappa. Slightly mixed heritage you understand .
Louis
It looks that way James.. JJB chose Umbro as the manufacturer because they own a 10% share in the company, I don't think they'd be allowed to tie a manufacturer down past their own contract with the club. Randomness
so we'll get a nike kit... Nice. Puts us in the club with man utd, arsenal, barcelona, inter milan and juventus.
EFCfanatic
Nike will be good. Puma were bad.
MikeO
Nike will be good. Puma were bad. Really liked the last Puma Kejian shirt. Plain and simple, still wear both home and away (and the away was our proper away colour as well)!
Adam
JJB are useless. Was happy when heard they were having merchandise rights as have a JJB near me but they never have anything in there and when you order it it never arrives either. jamiemaher85
When I was living in Canterbury it was always good having JJB as the offical stockist as they always had Everton shirts in and they were always cheap as there isn't much demand for everton merchandise in kent. MikeO
amazing, i could never find an everton kit in a jjb store anywhere other than liverpool... Me also, extremely limited availability at two JJB shops in Exeter and one in Taunton. Short sleeve home shirt in one or two sizes if you're lucky. jamiemaher85
Got one a few years ago, the first when we were sponsered by chang from the store in Ashford, Kent. I bought it in Novemeber, so only a few months old, for only £8! They had loads in stock and had to flog em cheap becasue no-one wanted them. I was happy. MikeO
Reminds me that last season I got the previous years (05/06) 2nd (yellow) and 3rd (grey) shirt for me plus second for Josh for £10 each in Taunton. They had shed-loads of them. Just shows extremely poor stock control really, though I was happy at the time and it's the only season when we both ended up with the full set . jamiemaher85
The stocking situation is stupid. I could always get everton shirts in Kent, but never found any in the midlands, which is a hell of alot closer to Liverpool than Kent. Sheffield JJB always have a fair few everton shirts. got this seasons from there in fact. £27 the week it came out. Not too bad.
MikeO
The best (and weirdest) one for me was when I went out to get a paper on Saturday 9th September 2006, popped into Tony Pryce Sports (which is a south-west only chain of ten shops) in Tiverton and was stunned to see an away shirt, in my size, among the usual "big" four stacked shelves. It was a sign I felt sure so I bought it (over list price from memory) and six or seven hours later me and the shirt were celebrating the 3-0 win over Liverpool . Proved to me that there if there is a God, he's a blue .
Louis
Just found out that Kitbag also run the official Man Utd and Celtic stores so it *should* be in safe hands.
jacko 1990
so will the JJb/ everton store in l'pool next to the RS shop just become JJb and flog out all the everton merchandise?
Louis
yeh.. only that JJB is being moved to inside St. Johns in the next few years and where it is at the moment will become a market place.
chicagoblue
Hmmm. Well I rather hate Nike, was always pleased with the Umbro shirt as it's what we always had in youth soccer. Oh well.
