MikeO
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7418774.stm Predictable I suppose but what would have happened if Terry hadn't slipped? Romey 1878
I think it's pretty shitty tbh, he did a very good job IMO.
jamiemaher85
Can't say im surprised. He did well enough, would have been interesting to see what he would do with another premiership team, im not saying its easy to manage chelsea but i do wonder how good he is as a manger. But as Mark said it is pretty shitty as he did quite well. I was surprised tbh.
Louis
It'll be interesting to see if he stays in English management.
Raccyboy
what a stupid bunch of pricks...I hope this is the beginning of the end for chelsea. no trophies next season, you can be sure, at which point their thick-as-f*ck owner gets bored of his toy and sells.....then what? aaron
very surprised. did pretty well, didnt lose many games but its those games he did lose that stand out. e.g. spurs cup final and utd CL final. Jose is now 8/1 to return. could it be a come back for the "special one" ?
Randomness
grant's quiet way of management, showed up the chelsea players as spoilt brats, because of the media attention on some of their actions (cole turning his back on the ref, drogba's hystrionics etc) whereas jose would come out with some statement the press would lap up and the players behaviour would be swept under carpet. so no doubt the playes cost him his job. scouse
Treated poorly, came in a director of football ask to do a job as manager and then sacked at the end of it! glad im not Roman's mate :-)... Think Frank Rij will get the job he has been let go by Barca and Jose will probably end up at Barca/Inter.
Romey 1878
Barca already have a new manager mate

Romey 1878
Former player that I can't recall with certainty - Guardiola perhaps?
jamiemaher85
Thats the one, think he was involved in Barca as reserve coach as well.
aaron
yeah thats the one mark, he was Barcelona B coach.
TrueBlue
I was just getting to like Avram as well, rumour has it he's off to Man City.
Romey 1878
I was just getting to like Avram as well, rumour has it he's off to Man City. After being treated like shit by a so called friend he'd be nuts to go to City.
jamiemaher85
Maybe he is just chasing large severance payouts. I can think of worse things to do. Become popular with the fans, even sway the media, leave the job after a year, get paid around £10m in severance pay. Yes please.

Think Frank Rij will get the job he has been let go by Barca and Jose will probably end up at Barca/Inter. come on, he was brought in to replace mourinho anyway. but i have no problem with this, i don't like him and as the great jose said (or near enough) 'almost is a term for losers' Edited May 27, 2008 by CraccerC
Mac
If this is the way that Abramovich treats his so called friends I would hate to be his enemy. Chelsea should hang their heads in shame after such an act of cowardice. ATB Mac
CraccerC
come on mac, its no worse than what happened to jose. he actually won things. all grant has done was blow a cup final, fail to win the league, and lose a cup final which in truth could have gone either way. mourinho won trophies every year. grant has nothing, besides he was only a stopgap in the first place. anyone who is surprised shouldn't be, avram grant wasn't a big enough name or a good enough manager to manage chelsea. Mac
I understand what you are saying mate, but it still smacks of Abramovich wanting a yes man to let him play with the most expensive toy he has. I feel he is just a control freak. ATB Mac.
CraccerC
he is, but you can understand that chelsea have won 2 trophies a year or something under mourinho and grant brings nothing, despite being in 2 finals. mourinho was a winner, grant was a loser. i'd have sacked him myself. Mac
I suppose what I am driving at is a lack of foresight by most Prem chairmen with regard to giving someone a decent amount of time in order to stamp their own authority on a team. Maybe its an age thing but to think of the time Ferguson was given at Manure was (4 years) before he won anything SHOULD be the norm and it boils my onions that this is a thing of the past.
