jamiemaher85
LOL Yeah I see what you mean mate. He's attempted to lock the Longest Thread and attempted to warn us about an Indian Cahill. It's a free forum, I guess we all have our opinions Jamie.. It takes all sorts I guess...

dark
I woulden't mind seeing a new keeper come in January. I'm unsure whether Carlo Nash is enough to keep Howard worried about the keeper shirt. If we had a real good reserve keeper he would play better - he said himself that it would. Should try and sign someone like Ben Foster. Did well at Watford & United. Or maybe Ocoha? That Mexican keeper? He looks like a nice little fella that would do well in our team. I think the goalkeeper is a place we need back-up for.
Jesse11
I don't think there is a need to have Howard worried about keeping his shirt. He's a quality keeper and I think Nash would be able to do an OK job if Howard is ever injured.
dark
After the game against West Ham I was just looked around thier site/Wiki and it came to me on how many quality players that they had in thier team. When I was speaking about a back-up for Howard, maybe replacing Nash to provide a good challenge for Tim I thought of Robert Green. A player which since Richard Wright and Nigel Martyn I said we should have signed. I like Howard and I think him and Green would be a perfect goalkeeping force. Another is Matt Upson. Currently beating Jagielka for the England team, which is wrong, but he is still a quality player. Would like to see him replacing the likes of Hibbert and Lescott. And we should inquire about Jack Collison - he scored past us so he must be a star
EFC-Paul
I do think Upson is a decent player but at 29 coupled with him being English i would not spend what id expect they would want, Green is a top keeper he should have been more involved with the England set up long ago tbh he would be to good to sit on our bench i can see him ending up at United in a season or two. That young lad Sears looks like a decent player caused quite a few problems today, where was Di Michele today he looks a decent player aswell from what i have seen. dark
Parker did well for West Ham on Saturday. I didn't put him on the list due to his age and whether he still had the talent but he did really well in the midfield role. He worked hard and made Ozzy work hard too, a real good man to have in the team. I don't think we need him but should a problem arise it would be good to turn to him. Middlesbrough have a few good one's in the team too - Pogatez, O'Neil, Arca, Downing. In my opinion Stuart Downing is over-rated in England-terms but he is still a very good player for his club. He works hard and pops up with a goal every now and then. Arca and O'Neil the same excellent players whilst Pogatez is an awesome captain. I like Scott Parker its ashame he faded away over the last few seasons as he looked like being the next big thing in an England shirt i agree on Downing not International quality but does it for his club abit like a podgy faced gimp we all know Edited November 10, 2008 by EFC-Paul

Parker is a good player but as for the rest of them I cant see any of them being good enough for our side and I would be exceptionally dissapointed if we signed any of them. Downing could proably be ok as a squad player but not worth anywhere near the money it would take to get him I think Stephen Hunt would be a better bet as he is a better player and much cheaper, and even he would only be a squad player
StevO
downing is over rated due to being left footed and english, but the lad crosses a great ball, he puts our midfield to shame with his delivery from wide positions.
