MikeO Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 I believe we got around £11.5m prize money for fifth place last year with each place being worth £720,000. Think I read somewhere that it was £760,000 this year which would mean we earned £12.16m this time. Anyone know if that's accurate? Can't find anything googling . Quote
jamiemaher85 Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Thats my understanding of it. Add to that the FA Cup money. Which breaks down to £3.4m if we win and £2.8m if we finish runners up. Quote
Jimmy the blue Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Oh good we've got more bricks to build our new place (stirs nest and goes ) Quote
DangerMouse Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) Plus we got around 8m for tv appearences where as newcastle got about 10m ????????? Edited May 28, 2009 by DangerMouse Quote
Bill Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Thats on the top of the £30 million that every side in the prem gets. Probably ends up between 50 and 60 mill for the season. Quote
Philinsuffolk Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Hate to be the accountant here (I'm not!) but before anyone gets too excited lets then start by deducting the salaries! Quote
MikeO Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 Hate to be the accountant here (I'm not!) but before anyone gets too excited lets then start by deducting the salaries! About £2m each for the top earners? So maybe £30/35m in total? Have we added gate receipts? Off the top of my head £750,000 times 25ish? £18.75m. Quote

jamiemaher85 Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 ...and players that we have bought will not have been paid for all at once so there will most likely be still payments on them. i.e Yak and Felli. Quote
DangerMouse Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Repayments on all the loans we've taken out probably. But haven't we got maybe 20m more than we had last season....... I'm aware of were all the money is supposedly going........... I was just really making a point that I wont be getting too excited about our big bag of money..... Quote

I don't think any of us will be mate, it's a strange feeling knowing all that money is coming into the club but that it won't help us to progress really because it's eaten up straight away . Quote
Brazil Banks Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 I don't imagine running a football stadium is very cheap either. Quote
DangerMouse Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 ^^^^ especially an old battered stadium like ours........... but lets not get into that Quote
holystove Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 how much money do you get for qualifying for the Europa League? the CL is 15million euros just for qualifying .. but I imagine the Europa League is much less, should still be a nice sum though. Quote
