MikeO
Wouldnt touch him with a barge pole <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed...what a narrow minded lot we are.. "his club considered sacking him after an incident at a Christmas party where he stubbed out a cigar in a junior player's eye. The following summer Barton was sent home from a pre-season tournament in Thailand after becoming involved in a fight with a young Everton fan, an incident which resulted in Barton undergoing anger management therapy" ..lovely bloke. Agree with Ola...not fit to wear the shirt. Edited June 1, 2006 by mikeo

Mac
Jumping in with Ola and Mike here, Barton is a c*nt and is a one trick pony with a good shot on him, too much baggage IMO. Neville offers us so much in terms of versatility and leadership, a cool head and an experienced professional. Did I mention Barton's a c*nt?. BLUE-TAC
Despite risk of getting absolutely slaughtered...I'd rather have neither but if I had to choose i'd go for Neville as at least we know he fits in quite well-better the devil you know in my opinion. RuffRob
Neville or Barton? That is the question - doesn't mention who's the best player!!! Neville for me anytime. as well as all the other incidents dicussed above. Didn't Barton stick in a transfer request in January when he got half a whiff that his current clubs biggest rivals showed half an interest? When City had stood by him after numerouse incidents - arrogent ungreatful pr!ck. If Barton had the playing quality of Roy Keane, I would still hate for Everton to put a single penny in his pocket. A yob with no scrupples what so ever. I can't believe anybody would want him at our club ahead of Neville.
