MikeO Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I see Spurs have been playing Gareth Bale on the left side of midfield, with some success if Saturday is anything to go by. Wondered how Baines would do in a similar role....same type of player I think, good going forward but occasionally suspect at the back. If we got another left back in (which we need anyway) we could push him forward and play Pienaar on the right . Quote
Romey 1878 Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I'm really not a fan of playing players out of position so I'd be against it but I suppose it could work. Quote
marcopaulo Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 i think he does fine as he is attacking wise but i reckon he is a bit suspect defensively sometimes so maybe could try it out in a friendly or two if we actually sign someone before the last day.. Quote
CraccerC Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 baines has played a couple of times in midfield and never looked comfortable, id keep things as they are...maybe try seamus in midfield on the right, he's more of a similar player to bale. Quote

With Craccer on this for Coleman in midfield but that would mean our RB position is still open or at least only challengers are Hibbert and Pip. Scary.... As for Baines, as long as we can keep Pienaar why break up our most sucessful partnership of players? Nearly all our creativity comes down the left between these 2. I dont think Baines has got the touch that Peanuts has either... Quote
