Guest Reg Reagan
former skippies coach rale rasic and ex skippies captain robbie slater reckon that tim cahill is better than harry kewell! "if anything, hes too modest for what hes achieving," said rasic, "You know that whenever he takes the field something happens. His second goal was just unbelievable and world class" Robbie Slater agrees with Rasic, "Look, Kewell gets a lot of publicity and is a gifted player when hes fit. But the truth the fact of a matter is that harry kewell plays for liverpool and if he played any other club like Everton, man utd or middlesborough, i can guarantee you will see the best of kewell." "Harry had one good shot which just grazed over the cross bar straight after japan scored and kewell can be one of those impact players as we have seen in the World Cup Qualifiers against Uruguay" said Slater, "that night was kewells night and yesterday was chaills day"

Kewell has got a good shot and can pass the ball well but his injury problems & inconsistancy make him a liability. I never realy rated him at Leeds either he just scored a few fancy goals but if i remember rightly so did Mark Viduka and whats he done since? Sweet FA!! Ian
that doesnt go for us all heh, i am happy for any fan of football to be here, as long as everyone knows were the line is, at the end of the day it is an Everton forum and opinions may differ from you own alot as for the actual thread, i agree with you its hard to compare position to position but at the minute you have to say that cahill is looking the more valuable and up coming player out of the two, i rated kewell when he was at leeds but his heart seemed to have gone out of it when he signed for use, injuries getting him down possibly? he has returned to some kind of form but IMO i would rather have cahill in the team then kewell

xavier
Kewell can play in different positions. He's better in the middle than Cahill, why? Cahill scores more goals, Kewell can score (not as much than Cahill) but he creates and is one of the better 'keeper of the ball'.Very rarely does he give the ball away. You say he didnt deserve the CL and the FA Cup medal? That is 'absolute bollox'. Just because he could contribute in the final doesnt mean that he doesnt desrve the medal. His contribution against Olympiacos was immense. Steve got all the credit because he scored the 'wondergoal', steve had a poor game. Kewell was immense, easily the MOTM. Against Juve, Chelsea when we were 1-0 up with only little time to go, Cisse was brought on and couldnt hold the ball up and ended losing it. When Kewell was brought on, he kept the ball and won important freekicks and basically took most of the pressure from us. His role was as important as Luis Garcia's goals against Juve and Chelsea. He played in most (all?) of our F.A. Cup games and had major roles till the final. Knocking him off because his groin flared up in those finals is taking away the job Kewell did for us in both competitions. And i dont believe that Cahill is better than Kewell. He might score more goals but thats it. He doesnt create much and is not a great passer at all. Arteta is your best midfielder. If you get 6 million for Cahill i'd be surprised, 8 million is way too much.
