Farewell, wish you were here. 37952[/snapback] Total genius... I know a room full of musical tunes. Some rhyme, some ching, most of them are clockwork. Let's go into the other room and make them work. Love it Never be forgotten. Edited July 12, 2006 by mikeo

fcssl
Syd Barrett was one of the co-founding members of Pink Floyd. He died at home at the age of 60 several days ago. As a part time musician, in my opinion, Syd Barrett opened up the music industry, as the Beatles did also, and influenced and sporned many other fantastic musicians, bands and styles. May he rest in peace.

thebluenose
watch the royalties of pink floyd treble in the next week. from what i see when musicians die their band is susceptible to what i call Kurt cobain syndrome. the week before kurt cobain died his wealth was 1.3 million. but 3 months after his royalty wealth was trebled. and now it is worth 38 million. plus the media imortalise him for what he did. same with jimi hendrix and cliff burton. i respect syd barret (spelling) but i cant help pointing out that pink floyd will benefit from his death. Pat
Whislt, not forgetting that after Syd's non return "Trip" in to recluseness, Dave Gilmour ensured that he got his fare allotment of royalties & recieved a steady 6/7 figure sum annually. Unlike many artists that have come before & after, his co members really tried to do & did the right thing by Syd.
