Both of them will have long international careers imo. I have never seen Kylian play so I can only repeat what I read and hear about him. And I remember an article that said that Ethan hadn't showed any passion for football, though I can find a more recent article on the brothers that says he's started to play for his hometown's team as well. Good to know Thorgan is doing well then. I will do a bit of reading about Kylian very soon. As for Ethan, it's good to hear he's showing some interest now, although it's not uncommon for an 9 year old not to be into playing football - the passion comes later more often than people realise, although most of us were football mad at 8 or 9. I hope he doesn't feel pressure to play because of his big brothers. Good luck to all of the boys anyway, and Belgium in the World Cup as well - the dark horses alongside Colombia, Russia, Uruguay and Chile imo. The gap between the 'haves' and 'have nots' has never been so wide where maybe only 5 of the premier league teams can ever hope to land a 'name' player because of the outrageous transfer fees and even more outrageous salaries they demand. There are another couple of teams like us for instance who are trying to hang on in the race but are who are, in the words of Shirley Bassey ultimately always going to be outsiders with 'our noses pressed up against the window pane'. Any fairy godmother/godfather who wants to buy a PL team as a business needs some serious psychological assessment as it will never return a profit that justifies the initial cost. A fairy godmother/godfather who just loves the game and is prepared to back it with cash is a rare beast indeed....or at least someone who got their money legally is anyhow. Until that time comes (and Bill wants to let go of the reins) we carry on as best we can. It can be done...the likes of Swansea and Cardiff are testament to that. Football in this era is really uncompetitive because of globalisation i.e. the internet and TV attracts more foreign fans who generally root for the top teams. They spend money on merchandise and it all becomes cyclical. People say a team like Man City are financial doping, but how else could they really compete with the likes of Man U and the rest? In truth this has been going on for years, Man U fans forget that John Henry Davies and James Gibson saved the club, and they've exploited the Munich disaster for decades. it's just been happening on a far, far bigger scale in the CL/PL/internet era. I realise I'm stating the obvious in terms of capitalism, globalisation and social dynamics, but I felt it was important to reinforce things. The thing I hate the most is the post 1992 muppets who say that modern football is amazing and football in the past was shite. Football these days is ridiculously easy for the top teams for a large part of the time. I can never understand how people think the CL is generally of far higher quality than the World Cup - there's plenty of poor teams in the latter but there's a hell of a lot in the former as well. Still, I defend their right to play in it as world and European competition should be about more than simply getting all the best teams in there - that's a tentative step to a European superleague. I'm not saying the game was socialist in the past, but the gap between the haves and have nots was nowhere near as wide. Sorry for going off on a bit of a tangent there, but as a sociology student all of this stuff is highly fascinating (and abhorrent) to me.
