Romey 1878
If Villa and Portsmouth can find investment then surely we can, the only reason i can see is that whenever we have been approached BK has told them to F### off

java2001e
a takeover is really a matter of money. its that simple. if someone offers enough they will get the club. no-one has come up with enough to make BK want to part with the club. thats an indication of his committment. i think thats important. there is now more interest from overseas in investing in english football. the world cup has stirred interest in the usa. i'm not sure that its in the best interests of the club to be taken over by someone who really only uderstands accounts rather than football. given that choice i would stick with what weve got. thebluenose
i think the fans should form a consortium to buy out or contribute lots of money directly into the club. we have a massive fanbase in merseyside an alot of people would like to see money goin into the club so why not

java2001e
70,000 wont get built straight away it will only get extended into that 43195 the income from a new stadium is important, and the ability to extend to 70,000 later, will be a nice little earner for us. whether we like it or not, (and i dont), it seems that money is the most important factor in the game today, the top four are also the top four for money. at least the board seem to be seriously interested in the developmet of the club and are making an effort to bring us into the big money league. i suppose you can't ask for much more than that from them. GoldfishMemory
where does your faith in the board come from? not havin a dig 43292 I dont have that much faith in our board but having said that i have worked for a large multi national company with a board of directors and shareholders and they are all the same IMO. The only thing which separates boardrooms from eachother is the progress they make and the current Everton board have made more steps in a forward direction than 90% of those involved in the running of other premier league clubs. Granted the progress is slow but when your fighting against a top 4 who regularly recieve 20mil plus from the compotitions they play in the gap is hard to bridge. One thing i know for sure is that as a whole this club is in a far better position than it has been for 10-15 years and now we must make progress with the team to keep this momentum up. 2 seasons of European qualification on the run will dramatically change our position both financially and in terms of attracting the right players to move us forward! I'v got everything crossed for this comming season
StevO
i know were making progress, but Billy Bullshits approach to ignoring people interested in buying the club is a joke. if there are people who want to move the club forward then give them the chance to atleast discuss the situation. but i am behind Big Keith

Mac
Fishman, post #28 gave me food for thought, yes there has been progress and yes it has been slow, but ATM I am happy with our financial situation, and our continent like progress in the right direction. There are many clubs in far worse condition than us, I have waited this long for us to take our place at "the top table", a little while longer doesn't faze me in the least. java2001e
where does your faith in the board come from? not havin a dig 43292 we now seem to have a sense of direction. better training ground, progress in seeking a new stadium, money for new players and a genuine desire for real progress. we are moving in the right direction after being in the doldrums for far too long. Romey 1878
I know it seems like BK is doing a reasonable job because of the signings we've brought in this summer, but we all know that we havn't actually spent that money yet (installments). IMO BK is choking this club and sooner or later, if he doesnt piss off, he will kill it.

Romey 1878
I agree that its not as bad as it has been in the past but IMO BK cannot take us any further, and while teams like Portsmouth and Villa improve we will edge backwards

Romey 1878
They have the money, they will improve their facilities and buy better players than we can. Adams
Im not sure, if portsmouth are intrested in a big player they probaly take 1 look at the stadium and say no, whilst at Everton the stadium (isnt the best) but is 42,000 and were having new training facilities being built, as long as we have som1 bringnin money into the club by next season ill be happy
Romey 1878
They will improve everywhere - the stadium, the squad etc, all they have to show players is the progress they will make and players will come. They can make giant steps in one transfer window, we can only make baby steps. Without money we will fall behind. BK wont let this club go to anyone. Romey 1878
It doesnt matter how long it takes tbh, aslong as the player sees that they are making strides towards improving and have guarantees they will be playing in a better stadium that will be enough to get the players to sign
