johnh
I am fortunate to have a pretty good memory and usually do quite well in General Knowledge quizzes. The downside is the retention of useless information also. My classic piece of useless information is something I read in Readers Digest over 60 years ago. I have no idea why it stuck in my memory and I have never had the opportunity to use it in those 60 odd years. 'More tortoises die of diphtheria than any other disease.' It may not even be true these days but it's still there. What's yours?
MikeO
90% of koalas have chlamydia. (Not "old" because it was on QI recently but I thought it was a good one, though possibly less good if you're a koala looking for a good time)

MikeO
Think I read once that Venus is the only planet that spins clockwise. And a b flat on a tuba makes a male alligator horny That's not useless if you're a female alligator who plays the tuba!

MikeO
Not "useless" but interesting thing from programme on WW1 the other night. More British pilots were killed in training than were killed in conflict.
