Didn't look interested and slowed the game down and constantly gave the ball away. Was substituted after 'bout 60 mins. Didin't look like he had a future at Everton to me. On a positive note, Victor had a really good game. I've said on here that I didn't think he would make it in the Premiership but I think I could be wrong. Hope he starts geting a game against better opposition so he can improve further but he's young and some really goods signs there. Well done Vic! Romey 1878
None of the midfield impressed me becuse there were far too many long balls from the defence missing the midfield out, we may aswell have played wiv 7 players. GoldfishMemory
I dont think the mid got a chance to play because of the long ball tactics but it was the right decision, we would have had lots of injurys had we tried to play on the floor. The tackles on Arteta when he came on were a fookin joke IMO. VDM was a tactical swop when Arteta & Cahill came on to change the game in the final minutes and as sheedy said Victor was bright all game and unlucky not to get into a scoring position, a bright future ahead methinks but i'v always been a fan! ooberman
VDM was terrible. I've always backed him cos I had a real belief he'd turn good. But I think it's time to say, he's not going to.... On the plus side, Mark Hughes and Victor Anichebe were a breath of fresh air. Carsley looked fitter, getting better with every game. Simon Davies was brilliant I thought, and quite unlucky to not get man of the match (though I wouldn't begrudge young Victor one bit!!) Richard Wright = thank god we've got Tim Howard really.... Romey 1878
In the first half VDM was terrible granted because he was too negative, I dont think he played a pass forward at all. But in the second half he was alot more positive and made a good run infield just before he came off. You cant expect him to come in and be on fire when he's only been on the bench, give him 10-15mins at Newcastle and bring him in slowly. If he doesnt perform in the next 7-8 games get rid. Bill
Ive not been a lover of this fella, cos even before he came here his record for not playing was awfull, and i still cant believe checks were not made on his fitness, and he was even signed without a Medical. Whatever skill and ability this fella had in his young days has gone, and it will not return, he still has'nt completed 90 mins for us. We should have sold him instead of Kilbane. He needs to be replaced as a matter of urgency come January.
Cloud
Considering this was 'His Chance To Show US What he can do and push for a place in Sundays Team' He has Threw it away! He didn't get into the game at all. And When he was subbed off he headded straight for the tunnel. I'm Feeling Sorry for the guy Tbh, He will be gone when January comes, But who will want him!
