zequist Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Fratton Park would be demolished and a new 36,000 seater built near the dockyards, if everything goes according to plan. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...938&cc=5901 Quote
GoldfishMemory Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 It looks impressive on the official site. >>Pompey Site<< Quote
Romey 1878 Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 The stadium looks well strange IMO. Quote
GoldfishMemory Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 The stadium looks well strange IMO. I think the idea Mark is that it fits in with that tower thing whatever it is, they're trying to build an impressive waterfront. It makes a change from the norm tho!! Quote

It makes a change from the norm tho!! Very true, but it looks like they're trying to copy the Nou Camp. On a much smaller scale obviously. Quote
J*A*C*K*E*L*Z Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 new 36,000 seater built near the dockyards http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...938&cc=5901 Thats poor. A team with support like this will never be a big club Quote
aaron Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 very nice stadium but 36,000 is not alot tbh for a new stadium. then again they want it at least ahlf full dont they Quote
thebluenose Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 imo it looks like a brick with a deformity. however it does make a change from the the souless bowls which seem to dominate stadium designs ie:emirates, reebok, wembley, RS new design Quote
Mac Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Couldn't give a fuck, it is at the other end of the country, and let's face it, it is Pompey FFS. The only people who care about them are inbred, selfish, Navy bastards. Let the them suffer in their 15,000 capacity stadium. If they can't get a full house at this level, bollocks to them. Besides they are all shithouses anyway, and they smell of shite. ATB Mac Quote
StevO Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 wow! i think that looks fantastic. cant see the nou camp thing mark, thats apartments that rise up, the stadium itself is all level. i think that is a great development, i hope if we move we get somethin as unique as that! Quote
Bill Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Looks a bit Dodgy if you ask me, Half the ground is surrounded by Water, could be water corrosion and pitch difficulties in the future, plus leaving the ground could be a bit dangerous all shepherded out at the one end. Suppose the away support will be waterside so they can just chuck them out into the water. Mind you with only 36.000 capacity it could be manageable. Dont like it tho. Quote
aaron Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 nothing to do with this but anyone seen the new arena at the albert dock? looks good tbh. it reminded me of pompys plans for there ground when i saw it yesterday Quote
Louis Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Would that be the arena that was very nearly Everton's new stadium? Quote
