Adams
After hearing the rumours about who Moyes is intrested in signing im not impressed. Phil Jagelka - hes a good player but cant add class to our team. What i dont get is why Moyes isnt trying to sign Fernades. Imagine this for a centre midfield. -----------Fernandes----------- -------Cahill-------Arteta------ That is an amazing midfield! Yes Fernandes does go missing in games but it can be changed. Look at when C.Ronaldo signed for United - he was a good player but he did pointless stepovers and lost the ball to much. Man UTD then worked on him in the summer and look at him now!! Hes argubaly the best player in the world! This is what Everton can do with Ferandes. Hes only 21 and he is one for the future. Mark my words - in 5 years time when the best teams are after him we will be thinking - why the fuck didnt we sign him? Yes he is expensive - very expensive - maybe to expensive. BUT you have got to look at him and his talent now, imagine what he is going to be like in the future. Moyes can work with him during the summer i can then guarantee he wont go missing in games. IMO 8mil upfront then a few clauses will get him - and it will be worth every penny. Not only does he defend he has class skill and scores. Do we get that with Carsley - no, do we get that with Jagelka - no. Another thing im disapointed in is that we have not been strongly linked to a LM YET!! Thats the main posistion we need to strengthen. Vertaly Every player we have been linked to is good - but wont add any class to our team Moyes get Fernades signed, youve already missed out on Barton. Romey 1878
You don't know that Moyes hasn't been trying to sign Fernandes, and just because we havn't been linked with a LM doesnt mean nothing is happening behind the scenes.
Zed
Do you just believe all the bullshit rumours you read on the net Your post is so full of holes it could be swiss cheese Fernandez class/ I know he goes missing in games Dont you realise that any football team needs its workhorses as well as its flair players "Vertaly Every player we have been linked to is good - but wont add any class to our team" BULLSHIT
Romey 1878
As worrying as it is that we havnt been linked with players it probably is a good thing, we all know that most of what we read in the papers is horse shit so if whatever is going on is being kept quiet then it's for the best. Philinsuffolk
Zed - your last post was amusing. Adams - sorry mate, but got to agree with the others, all that there has been is rumours, pretty much all made by tabloid press that have papers to sell. Footy news isa key part of how tabloids sell their papers and out of the season they have to crank up the rumours. Lets just wait and see what happens. One thought occured to me today - the arbitration panel to consider the West Ham situation sits on June 18th. For this reason it would not surprise me if there was limited transfer throughout the Premiership until then - my logic being that the transfer system is like a domino effect. If West Ham stay up they will make quite a few significant signings (not necesserily from us!) and in turn clubs will buy players to replace. If West Ham go down, then people like Parker won't be going there.. As for Jagielka - we have to have a good Prem season and contend with UEFA Cup - as such the versatility of Jagielka (if he does come) will be an asset. Agreed, not the jewle of our crown, but then Lee Carsley doesn't get considered in this light either..
BLUE-TAC
The only time i'll take note of a rumour is when we're linked with a centre back as personally that would be my priority. Yeh, everyone loves forwards and playmakers but with subbsy getting on (and showing it-lack of pace anyway), we've only really two specialist centre backs - roger & yobo. Jagielka would tick a few boxes although not get many excited but i think DM is being clever with a move like that if it happens - if everything went wrong in uefa we wouldn't have some mercenary on our hands wantin to jump ship and his wages prob wouldn't be too much so it seems like a bit of a 'just in case shit happens' transfer. Surely the positions we need to look at are: Centre back Right/left back Winger/playmaker (depends on most common formation he'll use) On a free/cheap - I'd also look for an experienced (european) forward who wants to make his mark in the prem like zola, bergkamp, di canio did. That is a fantstic analogy (the domino effect) as soon as one player is sold it release funds for another player to be bought and also a hole to fil and so on and so on
