    This time, it’s Everton who would be leading the race for the midfielder, as newspaper A Bola brings some interesting information about the chase today.

    The outlet claims the Toffees are currently ‘in pole’ position to sign the 26-year-old, with the club having chosen him as a priority target for the summer market.

    Even the player himself is said to be aware of that, and it’s ‘very likely that in the near future’ Everton officials come up with a bid for him.

    A Bola claims Sporting would be fine selling one of their captains, no matter if Carvalho or Rui Patrício, as they need some cash in the transfer window. The midfielder has a €45m release clause, but the Lions would start listening to the offers over €30m.

    With Carvalho’s dream to play in the Premier League being reported for years now, it seems that Everton’s biggest issue would be to find an agreement with Sporting.

    ‘I have had problems with mental health,’ said George. ‘I’ve suffered from depression and addiction. I was on a downward spiral. From the age of 17 or 18, I knew there was something wrong. People around me knew, but I didn’t want to admit it.

    ‘While I was at Salford City, I tried to take my own life. That was an overdose. I went on an outrage and decided that was the best idea.

    ‘I took a lot of paracetamol, anti-depressants and strong pain killers. It was probably a massive cry for attention that I needed help. People knew I needed the help but I knew something serious needed to happen for me to get it.

    ‘Things weren’t going well at home. I wasn’t sleeping right. I was drinking too much. I’d seen crisis teams in hospital and they had turned me away. I had cut myself countless times and they turned me away, too, so I thought: “What have I got to do to get the proper help?” I was taken into hospital after the overdose. They put me on a drip and flushed it all out of me.

    ‘It has taken a lot of therapy sessions and going to see psychologists to get me to a better place. One said I was bipolar. In the past year, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and I have been on medication since then and it has been calm. Things have been going well. Home life’s going well, which plays a really important part. Things are on the up now. The medication I’m on keeps me to a level where I can be George Green and go and perform on the pitch and do what I do best. I’m fit again, I’m doing well at Nuneaton, I’m playing games, I have got into Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy for the summer and I’m attracting interest from clubs in the Football League. I feel a million times better than I have done for a long while.’

    Meis, the Founder and Managing Principal of MEIS, emphasised in the opening workshop his desire to create the “greatest home ground in English football” at Bramley-Moore Dock.

    The workshop – held at St Luke’s Church on Goodison Road – was attended by more than 150 Evertonians. The first in a series of four workshops, all fans who completed the Club's survey on the 11 Key Principles for Bramley-Moore Dock were afforded an opportunity to complete an application to attend.

    Duncan Ferguson has backed Cenk Tosun to become a success at Everton after extra one-on-one training sessions with the player.

    Tosun has scored four goals in his last three games for Everton, having initially gone his first four matches for the club without a goal after signing from Turkish side Besiktas for £27m.

    He paid tribute to Everton "legend" Ferguson for his upturn in form, having undergone extra shooting practice and physical training with the Toffees coach.

    Ferguson believes Turkey international Tosun just needed time to adapt to English football.

    "He's settling in well," Ferguson told Sky Sports News. "I think it took him a bit of time to adjust to the Premier League but he's looking good.

    "We're obviously made up that he's scored a few goals now. Hopefully that continues.

    "He can be a success if he keeps on working hard, we keep on giving him the supply. I think he can score goals for us."
