Not smoked for seven years and people smoking next to me in confined areas does bug me (makes me want one....still ) but it has never, ever bothered me at Goodison, or any other outdoor event come to that. Like No smoking on Beaches-> figure that 1. Next on the Agenda is they are trying to stop smoking in cars. Also cant smoke within 3 Metres of any public Building or awning ( of course I do). Get used to it, the genocidal century of tailor made smoking is on the way out. Ont he way out -> Just like most of us Hardcore smokers, xept Licker of course he's immune. Everton Lad!..........We've all got to die of something!.......Believe me Lung Cancer is one of the ways you don't go!! Both of my parents died of it,and it's not something that comes when your 70+, My mum was 52......Doctors said almost 100% certain it was the smoking,same with my Dad......doesn't just sit in your lungs and give you a nasty cough!!.....it starts there and then wanders around.....Mum's bone and Dad's brain....WHY the horror story Everton Lad?........Guess your quite young/your a BLUE.....Wouldn't want it to happen to you. RuffRob Posted June 18, 2007 Report Share Posted June 18, 2007 I am a smoker (wish I wasn't though) We already have the non smoking ban in Wales. Not that much of a problem generally. But something that did make me smile a few weeks ago: Went to see 'the Who' Play in the Liberty Stadium Swansea a couple of weeks ago. I was on the pitch standing, and stewards where walking through the crowd and pulling up every body who lit up a cigarette. The Who started blasting out 'my Generation' a song about youthful rebelion, and at the same time grown adults throughout the stadium where getting a good ticking off about lighting up a cigarette. So I lit one up myself, just to get back that feeling of youthful rebelion. How the world changes, I wonder if this is what Pete Townsend had in mind when he wrote the song.
