Done and done. Shit game lost by the usual; individual errors and bad luck.

Gerry MoM. It's a shame no one else has been on his level.

Barkley in particular lacks a bit of aggression in his play. He had a chance to shoot left footed few minutes ago, hesitated, then had his shot blocked by the time he hit it. If he wants to add more goals he needs to just let go!

I understand Deulofeus frustration. Two great crosses but no-one near to connect

Barkley should be breaking his neck to get onto that, fabulous cross

I was thinking he needs to go somewhere in the Far East were alcohol is banned, and preferably no cyclists around

Sideliner reacted to Shukes in Naismith/Kone Replacements
Definately us.
3-1 ahead only to salvage a point in injury time......then to lose, also in injury time.
Interestingly enough....two goals in Injury time, celebrations all round
...and no extra injury time.

Wish we had gone in for Austin at £4m that's a steal and he is way better than Kone

Sell Mirallas and get someone similar with a not bad attitude

Sideliner reacted to markjazzbassist in Martinez - Direction?
the refs aren't controlled by the FA dunc? i thought they were the ones pulling the strings with them and hence could punish/reward the refs per their performances. well if i'm wrong then yes you're right the refs union or whatever need a serious chat with themselves because this man deserves to be in the championship plying his trade.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that article because he definitely should be getting more minutes and he is perfectly within his rights to knock on the managers door to ask why that not the case
Taking to Belgian media, the forward was asked about an impressive goal-scoring display on what was only his third Premier League start of the season.
Understandably he felt he had shown why he deserves more playing time.
"It's been said that I wanted to leave, I would have a bad attitude, but everyone has seen here that I've given everything," he is reported to have said.
"The important thing for me is that I have shown that I respect the club and this shirt regardless of my future.
"Today I have proven that I am a footballer who deserves to play, or at least one who should get more playing time. We'll see. I'll go and sit together with the coach to talk about my future."

I think it was Romey who said.... Deulofeu frustrates but can produce at any moment so that's why you stick with him. The same goes for Mirallas. Except Mirallas has more end product in front of goal and is a much better finisher. Deulofeu & Mirallas should start every game from now till the end of the season "if" fit.

Calm down. Stop getting on you're high horse over it. I don't think I've done Mirallas any favours on here because I've beat his stick far too often. But the fact is he's a very very dangerous talented player on his day. On par with Deulofeu.

Look we play beautiful football at times bossing most games but we don't take our chances and we concede far too easily at the other end.
We need more players who can score regularly - not just Lukaku - our starting 11 is not balanced
Deulefeu and Mirallas are our best options but D'feu is overutilized and then subbed and Mirallas is underutilized and should start.
We also need a nr 10 playmaker in the middle of the park (have been saying it for ages) before we will click
Howard has become too inconsistant and needs to be dropped for a game or two at least
Martinez must sort out our defense urgently and
The taking and defending of corners is just poor and unacceptable
Our use of the bench or rather lack thereof leaves much to be desired
i will give Martinez till the end of the season to get the above in order - 3 seasons is more than enough

You really haven't covered them though. You've totally disregarded them. There is 13 games since he's returned from suspension that he hasn't been given a fair crack at... He's started 2 games since then. This isn't a squad player. He's on the most talented in the squad & a previous regular for 3 seasons... One of the first names on the sheet. Previously if he'd been injured he'd have been straight back in the starting 11, he was a key player.

So many holes to pick at in this post:
Firstly the first 10 games are so descriptive... After that you just give vague numbers....not suiting you point?
Not sure where you got the figure 9 from after the first 10 games. We've actually played 22 league games this season not 19.
Unavailable for 5 of the "9" you say.....By unavailable for I presume you mean injured? Since his return from suspension he's had 1 injury according to Martinez that was when he was dropped from the squad after Newcastle. So he's certainly not been unavailable for 5 games since the red card.
His performances have reflected someone who hasn't been used no more no less.
Lennon is a completely different kettle of fish. He's competing with Deulofeu for that wide right spot and he's not as good as Mirallas or Deulofeu. That's expected and that why nobody's been calling for him.
The left hand side has seen Cleverley, Kone and Osman start ahead of Mirallas. None if them are natural wide players. They can fill in there and do a job.... But seriously starting ahead of someone of Mirallas calibre?
The thing here is that this isn't a confined concern to this forum.... It's being mentioned across all forums.... "Why isn't a Mirallas playing"
The media keep asking about Mirallas... Which Martinez will then waffle and bring up injuries and suspensions from 12 games ago.
Nothing wrong here Newty.

What avenue are you exploring here? Nobody's said Mirallas was punished because of that meeting. What we're doing is asking "why"? The one of the best players isn't playing.... What reason... All since that penalty.... Do you think there was nothing said after that game? He was substituted straight away.... Didn't come back out.... Maybe that's when there was a showdown.
You answer the question now. Why has one if our best players been sitting on the bench behind Kone, Cleverley and most recently Osman? Why has he been an unused substitute when we've been looking for a goal? When he's the second most prolific goalscorer in the squad?
Time for you to answer the questions.... Just football? That explains a lot.

Its not hard to understand. One of the best players in the squad hasn't been playing. There's always going to be questions as to "why". This isn't a squad player. Its a first team regular who was a major influence in everything we had done previous to his absence.
There has quite evidently been some sort of fall out. The way other players have been chosen in front if him, his lack of minutes I.e being brought on at 89 minutes... This guy isn't a mug he's one of the best players at the club.

Ferguson is a great example of a manager who got shut of people who he considered trouble makers. Martinez has handled this terribly. Not only has he potentially tried to ruin a very good footballers career he's also kept a "trouble maker" in and around the squad, teased fans and in all probability dropped points because he hasn't played his best side.

Sideliner reacted to duncanmckenzieismagic in Kevin Mirallas
That's what pisses me off most about this entire farce. For me Mirallas offers so much more than Kone going forward. I could possibly understand the decision if Kone was offering more protection to our left back but Mirallas is better doing that as well

Fair play Martinez has kicked off a shit storm. He has called out that the ref and 4th official confirmed it was time before the terry goal.
He also completely criticised the ref. Let's see if the FA have the balls to charge him.

Is this the game where they scored in injury time to make it 3-3? There goes the argument about a goal in injury time causing more injury time.
