  1. two seasons ago didn't Phil Jagielka break his toe was out for like 2 weeks had some injections on his toe so he could carry on playing. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/everton-defender-jagielka-will-keep-playing-broken-toe-2200471

Surely if it becomes rather apparent that we really are missing Ross then just maybe he could have something similar done. Although that said I'm not sure Martinez would go to the same measures Moyes did.

  2. @SkySportsNews: James McCarthy is a transfer story to keep an eye on. Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has had his say on a potential Everton deal #SkyDeadlineDay

@SkySportsNews: "You're talking £14m or more. Are they a long way off? Probably £2m, but we're sticking because we've got to replace him." #SkyDeadlineDay

Dave Whelan has spoken 14 million though not for me. 12 million is about right with maybe either that including bonuses or excluding bonuses.

  3. Hmm two options of a season long loan him who will have a low wage and is young and overall more energetic or Barry who is 30 something and on 120k a week so wages are a stumbling point on trying to make a loan deal work and we still seem to want to try to bring Barry in on loan. Would make more sense to bring Ki in over Barry. But this one looks to be slipping away just like other targets like Moses who looks like he will be joining Liverpool on loan

  4. Haven't seen much of him to be honest other than highlights. But he did look good in the under20 world cup.

Thought he was one of the best England players there along with our Ross.

He didn't play in the under 20 World Cup with Ross? He played in the under 21 World Cup. Are you confusing the competition? Or have you confused the players and are actually talking about Larnell Cole who was pretty good in the under 20 World Cup.
  5. Last night's officiating made it clear this is the business of sports entertainment, not a genuine competition. The organizers earn more money when Real Madrid is in the final. They also make more money if an American team plays for third place rather than fourth. The commentators will praise the progress of MLS and the LA Galaxy for making 4th place, even though behind the scenes they rigged the rules to help them. For Everton, it's pre-season preparation against some of the best teams in the world - and we're paid good money to participate. We win no matter what. Who cares what the headlines read.

I'm sure the fans who have been shelling out thousands of pounds for flight tickets and $135 a ticket for the 3rd place game that had been falsely advertised sayimh we would be playing in by the piss poor promotors only for us now to be playing for 5th.

  6. watch this space to see how many games he plays this season,i hope he goes on loan, strange theres been no takers, wages I wonder ?.

I'm sure he is only on the same sort of wages as most of our youth. It says here: http://matchincome.com/2012/12/30/francisco-junior-salary-or-income/ he earns £11,244/week.

Not sure how reliable that is but that is very little money these days for a player even a youth player. If this website is accurate then he is on the same sort of wage as Vellios, Garbutt, Mcaleny, Kennedy and Duffy. So the same argument could be made for these youth prospects that may not make it. Maybe we should let go of all them to save wage because you dont rate them. I'm sorry your argument has very little substance considering you are most likely basing it on 2 preseason games and 1 league cup game against Warnocks dirty Leeds. He's played 2 preseason games this season, preseason is tough for most players considering he has only just come back from surgery he had towards the end of last season give the lad a break.. I wouldn't blame him for the Leeds game either he was thrown in against Dirty Leeds a ground in which we don't have a good record at the mentality from the start of the game wasn't good and if anyone is to blame that was Moyes. I wouldn't totally dismiss a players future at our club primarily based on a couple of preseason games.

  7. This season we have got defencive options but the season after that we could have lost two of those and thus so it is only natural we invest money on a centre half now whilst he is available giving him time to settle into the premier league or we could wait till next season any buy a replacement for Heitinga and will have to wait a while until Heitingas replscement is accustomed to the premier league.

  8. This season is most likely going to Distins last season for us I can't see his contract being renewed again. It could even be his last season as a professional footballer. Or he could go back to France drop down a level or join another premier league team. So Johnny would have already been gone by the end of the new season by either a transfer of his current deal expires that would leave us with Jagielka, Alcaraz, Duffy and stones who could play as a centre back. With only one of those currently being established centre half in our team currently.

  9. I don't find it hard to believe at all. How do you think managers sign random players from different leagues around the world their scouts give them reports on what kind of player they are, their potential and their ability. So our head scout has gone and a new one has come in it doesn't make all of our previous scout reports and files from scouts that probably still remain at the club obsolete does it?

  10. @Zizouology: Scouts of Liverpool and Everton are expected to be present for the Serie B match between Pro Vercelli and Verona (Calcio Mercato)

This tweet was from 14th December 2012 from someone who claims to be a football writer who interests in South American and European football Witt Brazil a main interest. Could suggest we have been scouting him and there is more substance to the reports
