  1. You said it in your first post . It's a new thing for this season, always open for discussion, as is the MOTM voting system (also new this year). If people want changes for 09/10 we can certainly look at it .
  2. Done for a double by Portsmouth ffs....not a nice feeling .

  4. BBC... Fair to say referee Peter Walton might not be on David Moyes' Christmas card list. Glen Johnson's shot was just nowhere near Leighton Baines, the decision to give a corner was remarkable.
  5. Howard, Jacobsen, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines, Osman, Fellaini, Neville, Pienaar, Saha, Jo. Subs: Nash, Castillo, Rodwell, Gosling, Agard, Baxter, Wallace. Jacobsen début and TC out .
  6. Fascinating and well researched item from the BBC... If selected:- YAKUBU will be facing a former club. The 26 year old Nigeria international forward made 92 appearances (81 in the league) and scored 42 goals (35 league) between January 2003 and July 2005.
  7. Joe Royle comes face-to-face today with Peter Johnson - the man who broke his heart at Everton. Oldham boss Royle takes on Johnson's League One rivals Tranmere on his second managerial 'debut' and admits the pair are sorry about the rift at Goodison. Royle quit after a row with chairman Johnson, but said: "We have only ever fallen out for 40 minutes. It was a decision we have both regretted ever since. "I saw him on holiday last summer. We were on a boat, talking football for hours while we sailed around Mallorca. We had just totally misunderstood one another at Everton." Hmmmm...
  8. Just gotta hope they don't kill it off in the first leg at OT .
  9. ....all in a provisional England squad according to the Echo (it's in "Hot off the press"). http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/everton-fc/...00252-23192577/ ....but I can't find it anywhere else...not on the beeb or on the FA's own site . Strange.
  10. Seems most likely....Davey doesn't seem to fancy Jacobsen at all. Hibbo's only a couple of weeks off fitness apparently .
  11. Confirmed on the OS....out for a month. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/3601...or-a-month.html
  12. Lawrenson's gone for a 0-0 draw, so that means there'll be plenty of goals .
  13. Villarreal v Arsenal ManU v Porto Liverpool v Chelsea Barcelona v Bayern Arsenal & United should go through, other two tough to call. Semi finals.. ManU/Porto v Villarreal/Arsenal Barcelona/Bayern v Liverpool/Chelsea
  14. Incredibly tough to pick a winner from the last eight, the bookies don't know either, every team's between 4/1 and 8/1. City would have to be rank outsiders for me given the opposition..very lucky to be there at all after last night. Udinese (Ita) Hamburg (Ger) Werder Bremen (Ger) Marseille (Fra) Paris Saint Germain (Fra) Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukr) Dynamo Kiev (Ukr) Gianfranco Zola reckons West Ham need 52 points to get into the Europa (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ers-Europe.html) which means by his reckoning we need another five points from the rest of the season for sixth.
  15. No mention of golf in the original question as far as I can see... .....and just how do you suppose they got the water from the Thames into Brunswick Dock? Eh? Answer me that!!! In a Volkswagon Beetle perhaps? NO! They channelled it by cutting a dirty big hole in the riverbank! Legally you don't have a leg to stand on and unless I get my prize you'll be hearing from my lawyer in the morning .
  16. Fifth place plus Carling and FA Cup winners qualfy. If both cup winners qualify for Europe via the league the places go to the next placed teams. The only way it could conceivably not go to seventh would be if we won it and finished eighth or lower . It's fact, don't know whether UEFA have to agree it or whether it's the FA's choice, whatever way it's a done deal.
  17. Mine is a perfectly valid answer. Just because it doesn't happen to be the connection you thought of doesn't make it wrong. I blame the questionmaster for setting an ambiguous task. Sack him !
  18. What about Alex Nyarko? I never saw him live so I don't know .
  19. Putting down flags first and 3" square tanalised bearers on top of those.....the previous one was just on slabs but the floor got a bit damp because the drainage isn't great so I want it lifted up a bit with plenty of airflow underneath. Got nothing done today because we've been descended on by daughters and grandchildren as a mother's day surprise for the wife .
  20. Brunswick! Brunswick Square, Bloomsbury, London. Brunswick Dock, on the Thames at Blackwall. Brunswick Lake is in Virginia, US of A. And Brunswick are the leading manufacturers of bowling equipment. If that's not the right answer then it bloody well ought to be . Do you come up with these yourself Jim? Clever stuff if you do.
  21. '84 Cup Final I walked onto the terraces with two mates and didn't see them again until I got back to the car after the game . The joys of standing, you just went where you were taken. Found plenty of new mates though....about 40,000 odd .
  22. First part of that is true (accordingto the beeb stats), 62% to 38% and they had fourteen shots and ten corners (to Liverpool's thirteen and three). But Liverpool obviously did create chances, played well and fully deserved the win....defensive mistakes are often forced.
  23. What odds? I didn't give any . Out of interest though you can get 1/29 on us finishing top six, so as far as the bookies are concerned it's pretty much a certainty. We're also about 2/1 to get fifth and 10/1 to make the top four.
  24. Surprised no-one's pointed this out yet but Arsenal beating Hull the other night has made it 99.9% certain that seventh place will get a Europa Cup spot. Even if we were to fall apart completely I can't see us getting overtaken by two clubs. Still need to look upwards for me but that's an extra bit of insurance in case things go wrong.
