  1. Just gotta hope they don't kill it off in the first leg at OT .
  2. ....all in a provisional England squad according to the Echo (it's in "Hot off the press"). http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/everton-fc/...00252-23192577/ ....but I can't find it anywhere else...not on the beeb or on the FA's own site . Strange.
  3. Seems most likely....Davey doesn't seem to fancy Jacobsen at all. Hibbo's only a couple of weeks off fitness apparently .
  4. Confirmed on the OS....out for a month. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/3601...or-a-month.html
  5. Lawrenson's gone for a 0-0 draw, so that means there'll be plenty of goals .
  6. Villarreal v Arsenal ManU v Porto Liverpool v Chelsea Barcelona v Bayern Arsenal & United should go through, other two tough to call. Semi finals.. ManU/Porto v Villarreal/Arsenal Barcelona/Bayern v Liverpool/Chelsea
  7. Incredibly tough to pick a winner from the last eight, the bookies don't know either, every team's between 4/1 and 8/1. City would have to be rank outsiders for me given the opposition..very lucky to be there at all after last night. Udinese (Ita) Hamburg (Ger) Werder Bremen (Ger) Marseille (Fra) Paris Saint Germain (Fra) Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukr) Dynamo Kiev (Ukr) Gianfranco Zola reckons West Ham need 52 points to get into the Europa (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ers-Europe.html) which means by his reckoning we need another five points from the rest of the season for sixth.
  8. No mention of golf in the original question as far as I can see... .....and just how do you suppose they got the water from the Thames into Brunswick Dock? Eh? Answer me that!!! In a Volkswagon Beetle perhaps? NO! They channelled it by cutting a dirty big hole in the riverbank! Legally you don't have a leg to stand on and unless I get my prize you'll be hearing from my lawyer in the morning .
  9. Fifth place plus Carling and FA Cup winners qualfy. If both cup winners qualify for Europe via the league the places go to the next placed teams. The only way it could conceivably not go to seventh would be if we won it and finished eighth or lower . It's fact, don't know whether UEFA have to agree it or whether it's the FA's choice, whatever way it's a done deal.
  10. Mine is a perfectly valid answer. Just because it doesn't happen to be the connection you thought of doesn't make it wrong. I blame the questionmaster for setting an ambiguous task. Sack him !
  11. What about Alex Nyarko? I never saw him live so I don't know .
  12. Putting down flags first and 3" square tanalised bearers on top of those.....the previous one was just on slabs but the floor got a bit damp because the drainage isn't great so I want it lifted up a bit with plenty of airflow underneath. Got nothing done today because we've been descended on by daughters and grandchildren as a mother's day surprise for the wife .
  13. Brunswick! Brunswick Square, Bloomsbury, London. Brunswick Dock, on the Thames at Blackwall. Brunswick Lake is in Virginia, US of A. And Brunswick are the leading manufacturers of bowling equipment. If that's not the right answer then it bloody well ought to be . Do you come up with these yourself Jim? Clever stuff if you do.
  14. '84 Cup Final I walked onto the terraces with two mates and didn't see them again until I got back to the car after the game . The joys of standing, you just went where you were taken. Found plenty of new mates though....about 40,000 odd .
  15. First part of that is true (accordingto the beeb stats), 62% to 38% and they had fourteen shots and ten corners (to Liverpool's thirteen and three). But Liverpool obviously did create chances, played well and fully deserved the win....defensive mistakes are often forced.
  16. What odds? I didn't give any . Out of interest though you can get 1/29 on us finishing top six, so as far as the bookies are concerned it's pretty much a certainty. We're also about 2/1 to get fifth and 10/1 to make the top four.
  17. Surprised no-one's pointed this out yet but Arsenal beating Hull the other night has made it 99.9% certain that seventh place will get a Europa Cup spot. Even if we were to fall apart completely I can't see us getting overtaken by two clubs. Still need to look upwards for me but that's an extra bit of insurance in case things go wrong.
  18. It is. Being delivered Monday, daughter's boyfriend booked in to help me put it up on Tuesday (watch it start to piss with rain ) but it's a real struggle to get the ground dead level. I'll get there though .
  19. My thoughts exactly. Was pleased when Davey signed his because it was a statement of personal intent after speculation that he was off, but as for Benitez "Tying himself to Anfield until 2014," bollocks. The length of the contract is just a tool to work out the levels of compensation if he screws up .
  20. Good news, five more years of premier league mediocrity assured .
  21. Ian..There's a bloke called Ian who sells the Big Issue in Trafalgar Square. You'll just have to take my word for it (though Jim obviously knows him). Baker..There's currently a job opportunity for a bakery operative in Twickenham (LINK), which is on the Thames. Finch..Lake Finch is a beautiful spot in Colorado (LINK). Ian Baker-Finch! These are getting too easy Jim....NEXT!
  22. Must be a hell of a good feeling Chris to have your lad doing so well. Hope he has a long and injury free career mate, and just maybe one day he'll play for the good guys .
  23. Why is it soooo difficult to get a piece of earth (that looks completely flat to the naked eye) flat ? I think my spirit level must be malfunctioning <_< ! Bastard bubble....I hate it!
