  1. Since we played them in the cup they've got one point from a possible eighteen and gone out of the UEFA. We've had a bit of a dodgy patch as well (until last week), dropped points we shouldn't have (at Newcastle & Blackburn) and still made up ten points on them. They're the worst team in the league on current form (LINK). Only one winner surely ?
  2. Why does it have Rooney in the blue side of the graphic ? Stupid.
  3. It quite clearly says in the user guidelines that all sauce discussion is to be placed in the Longest Thread Jim. I wish people would read them more carefully when they sign up, it'd save a lot of embarrassing condiment based confusion.
  4. Point taken lads but it still pisses me off <_< .
  5. This pissed me off...on the beeb... Aston Villa fans should be enjoying this afternoon so far. Arsenal, losing 1-0 at Wigan, have a six-point lead in fourth but they still have to play Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. Steve Claridge said something similar on Final Score....no mention of Everton anywhere. Have they not noticed that we are only one point back and on a vastly superior run of form?!? Doesn't take a brain surgeon to see that if we were to win tomorrow we'd be a much bigger threat than Villa are. Don't look beyond the end of their nose some people.
  6. You did mate, and I didn't....don't remember why, there must have been a reason. BT were very efficient on the change-over, been reliable and they've tripled the speed I had before for much less money, so I've no complaints so far . I'll try the channel change though Louis, thanks. Does that free wi-fi work taxi? Downloaded it onto the laptop and can't get a cnnection here but I'm a bit rural.
  7. Is this a North/South thing? If so I may be onto a loser on here ! Where do people stand on Worcestershire? Lea & Perrins or nothing for me :smile_anim: .
  8. Very useful tip Louis, specially given the fact that you know I've just changed to BT so I'm tied to a contract, but I'll bear it in mind for next year . And grass cutting is the wife's department Jim, counts as landscaping and I'm manual labour....strict demarkation in operation here .
  9. That's a great piece, didn't realise he'd been a red....or maybe I did and I chose to ignore it . No matter, Peter Reid was the same. Love this bit.... ...(Osman) who has come to embody the focus, work ethic and much under-appreciated football aesthetic which the Scot has drilled into the best performing under-funded club in the land.
  10. Some not very distressing injury news... "Agbonlahor is ill with a virus and Cuellar has injured his back. However fitness tests will no doubt take place late Saturday, or early Sunday morning before the final decision on their availability is made."
  11. An ancestor of mine invented a form of shoe polish in the nineteenth century (he wasn't alone, people worldwide were experimenting to come up with it, notably in New Zealand, hence Kiwi which still sells today) and it was such a good product that he sold the patent for a tidy sum. Sadly he was a bit of a dope with the money and it soon ran out so he did the obvious thing and sold the patent again.....mistake....landed him in prison . He did another stretch a while later for bigamy. True story .
  12. Personally Jim if I felt that someone I loved had been killed through negligence and those responsible hadn't been called to account I'd only let it pass when I was in a box myself.
  13. Does anyone know the progress of this? Is it still happening?
  14. Does anyone else smell burning ?
  15. You the man Steve, I'll go try it now !
  16. That sounds like you've missed out the "cheaply" bit Steve (bloody thing's way over budget already ), was hoping for something involving silver foil and a coat hanger .
  17. Anyone any idea how to (cheaply) boost the wireless signal on a home network? I'm using my laptop a lot in the new cabin and want to eventually bring the PC down but the signal varies from low to very low with occasional cut-outs. Can live with it, the only time it's a real pain is when I get disconnected in the middle of a game of cards but it'd be nice to get it sorted so any tips would be appreciated .
  18. Football was played on Christmas day up until 1957 unless it fell on a Sunday (often Boxing day as well, the return games against the same opposition). Funny that Sunday footie was outlawed until 1974 when it was initially entry by programme only to get around the trading laws....it didn't reach Northern Ireland (where the church is obviously more powerful) until September last year!
  19. Just looking at the Liverpool OS to see their reaction to the game tonight. Don't believe that they actually posted this "stat" in the match report. "Prior to kick-off Liverpool had won all five Champions League knockout ties under Rafa Benitez when the first leg has been played on a Wednesday. It was a positive statistic but one that the hosts would not be able to preserve come the full-time whistle." Pathetically poor writing. Another classic bit... "The remainder of the first-period seemed to pass by in a blur...." How can a serious report on a game of football contain that line?
  20. Daddies !?!? Heresy! HP or nothing .
  21. What I find really amazing is that not a single ticket has (so far) made it onto ebay. I've been checking daily and although a bit of me is pissed off that I'm not going to get one a bigger bit of me is pleased that no Evertonian (or United fan come to that) is willing to take a profit over the game. And I reckon it'd be a significant profit as well .
  22. Speculation that Anthony Hamilton has... ..struck some sort of ’plea bargain’ (with Max Mosley) which would see Hamilton granted amnesty against further action in exchange for ’coming clean’. He's also said to be furious that Lewis' integrity has been called into question. So if he didn't lie and his integrity is intact what does he have to come clean about ?
  23. Why? It's a valid opinion. Would have been a bit more constructive to offer yours. Try this next time... "I think you're an idiot because......." would be just about acceptable though, "I disagree with you because......" would be even better.
  24. Absolutely. I jumped out of my chair, Porto deserved a draw at the very least. Should have had a penalty at 1-1, United were very lucky.
