At best odds of 4-6 the winnings (£33.33) would be no consolation at all. Will only be worthwhile when Everton are the best team in Europe and Liverpool are in the Blue Square so the odds are 20-1 or so. We may have to wait a decade or so for that .

Just came to me this morning what's wrong with this Kaka deal. If someone gave Davey (or another manager of a similarly sized club) £100m to spend on a player/players then he'd be expected to challenge for the title....or at least break into the Champions League places. Sticking Kaka into the current City team is not going to transform them to that extent....not a chance. Six £15/£20m players just might. So I really don't think the argument that the deal makes "financial and footballing sense" holds up.

Driving up to Coventry tomorrow to pick up a car I've bought for my mother. Put together four CD's for the trip....two for the journey up (with aged parent) and two for the drive back alone (or maybe with Josh if he decides to come along for the ride). Love putting together compilations....though the first two were a bit challenging .

Wondered about that DM....it worked with my car insurance (they wanted £160 renewal, got a quote of £130 so I phoned to cancel and they cut it to £120). Phone and broadband are with Tesco's but I've got Sky TV already so I'm thinking putting the three together would be better. It's just the possibility of down-time that concerns me .
