  1. From Sky.... Despite his frustrations, Moyes revealed he remains committed to the cause and plans to pen a new contract with the club. "I'm still positive that I'll have a new contract to deal with shortly. I want to get this week out of the way before the transfer window closes," he said. "There is that much going on now, I couldn't put that into the middle of this week on the agenda, that's for sure. "The situation is just the same. I am fine. I'll have a contract. There is a contract there. I've spoken to the chairman (Bill Kenwright). When we get around to doing it, it is available to do."
  2. Strange comment....based on what? I don't rate him....am I supposed to pretend that I do?
  3. Knew your contribution wouldn't be long coming Mark . Have to say though I tend to agree with you....he has his moments but seriously over-rated for me.
  4. That's the same site as the first link....just the forum. Unless cfcnet.co.uk is different to cfcuk.net .
  5. Think they're more than a striker off living up to the hype. If we think we're depressed imagine how they feel with probably most of their business done and they've lost to Sunderland and 'Boro. Difficult to pick up after losing the first two games, specially against supposedly average opposition...although Everton famously managed it in 84/85 . We could have had six points (were it not for a schoolboy Lescott error), should have had four (were it not for an offside goal being allowed) and we're operating with no squad at all. I'd rather be in our shoes than theirs. Not writing them off but looking difficult for them again.
  6. Sorry Bill, I didn't answer because I haven't a clue what to do. If it happened to me I'd probably shout a lot and blame Joshua (then get him to fix it for me). Hope this helps .
  7. Apologies for the lateness of this, with all the trials and tribulations going on at Goodison it went right out of my head. For new members, we run a Man of the Match every game (including cup games this year) and do a running total to eventually come up with our Player of the Season. Not finalised the scoring system for this year yet, it has been 3, 2 and 1 points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd amount of votes for each game in the past but there was some discussion about changing it for this year....we'll decide over the next few days (if you have any thoughts on the best way of doing it send me a pm). Again, sorry it's late....we try normally to get it posted as soon as possible after the final whistle.
  8. My feeling is that you're probably right Carl .
  9. JV on the bench.... 12 Turner, 14 Vaughan, 19 Nuno Valente, 27 Jutkiewicz, 35 Agard, 36 Kissock, 38 Wallace
  10. Jose Baxter has become the youngest player in Everton history to be selected for a competitive first team game. At the age of 16 years and 198 days the attacking midfielder is named in Everton's starting XI for today's encounter with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns - just a week after becoming the youngest player to make an appearance in a senior competitive game for the Club following his substitute appearance in the opening day defeat to Blackburn Rovers. He is included in the side at the expense of Nuno Valente. That is the only change from the side that started against Blackburn, although it should mean a shuffle in the shape of the team. Baxter is expected to start wide in midfield, with Leighton Baines occupying the left-back berth. Phil Neville will continue at right-back after overcoming an ankle injury and Jack Rodwell is given only his second Premier League start.
  11. Vic came on as a second half sub and nearly scored with his first touch, did well to get get to that chance and another one a bit later. Both on target but well blocked and then saved.
  12. Er....we are. Sadly we don't have the answer to that but presumably you do Davey. Be nice to have a hint....you're frustrated (us too lad!), but who with? "Circumstances" won't cut it.
  13. Was just in the garden giving my shed a fresh coat of blue for the Winter when the red arrows flew overhead. Now it's a great shed and I've got a new oil-filled radiator and rug to make it a nice bolt-hole but a fly past by the red arrows? My wife swears she didn't arrange it, so if it was someone on here then thanks....I was very touched by the gesture .
  14. And my point is that they won't. My contempt for the tabloid press is total, but they won't (I believe) ever pay a paedophile....it's a step too far even for them. No point in arguing about it, we'll just have to agree to differ and time will tell. Quite how Jade Goody and Jeffrey Archer got into a thread about Glitter I don't know .
  15. Hindley and Brady most certainly never made any money from their crimes, it's ridiculous to suggest that they did, and the rest (unpleasant as they all certainly are) are hardly paedophiles.....and that was my point, that Gadd, as a paedoplile specifically will never get paid by any publication for his story. Profiteering from lesser or different crimes by writing books etc is something else entirely. Do you disapprove of John McVicar for example? "John McVicar (born 1940) is a British journalist. In the 1960s, he was an armed robber who was tagged 'Public Enemy No. 1' by Scotland Yard with a 'dead or alive' reward on his head. He was apprehended and given a 26 year jail sentence, escaping from prison on several occasions. He was released in 1978.[1] He obtained a degree from the University of London and wrote McVicar by Himself while still in prison and scripted the 1980 biographical film McVicar, which starred Roger Daltrey in the title role. After release from prison he studied for a postgraduate degree at the University of Leicester." My point is simply that Gadd and people like him are detestable and monstrous enough as it is without the need to invent other reasons to hate them.
  16. Picked up to that when Kipper was down and has stayed (as you say) pretty constant....possible people from there who are still keeping an eye on the thinking site . Bit like tabloid readers who like to dip into a broadsheet now and then when they want a little mental stimulation .
  17. To paedophiles? I can't remember it happening but I'm willing to be proved wrong if you can give an example.
  18. No "jokes" in this thread. Sick beyond belief DM.
  19. Inconceivable that any paper will offer him money.....they'd go out of business after probably getting their offices burnt down.
  20. Not exactly "new" (been going thirty plus years ) but for the guitar heads on here if you ever get a chance go see this guy... http://www.larrymiller.co.uk/index.htm ....mate of mine from school who I had no idea was still gigging 'til I saw him support Wishbone Ash (legends of my day) a couple of years back. He blew them away....a force of nature (and he said hello to me from the stage ).

    Gdday

Not been to Oban but I've walked the West Highland Way and spent some time on Skye. Three trips to that neck of the woods in all, one of my favourite places on the planet . Knew someone from Oban once though and she was always banging on about it....I'll add it to the "to do" list .
