Our record number of users online has been blown out of the water twice in the last few days already....tomorrow night could be huge ....or could be a huge letdown .
Didn't have a great start last season either....only thirteen points from the first ten games, the last of which was the derby which turned it around.
The world's not come to an end yet .
Who you talking about there?
...and fair enough Bill but fifteen Championship goals is not, on the face of it, worth £7m.
But the best of luck to Hull....think they'll need a lot of it this year just to get more points than Derby did .
The only positive for me is Defoe in my fantasy team .
Test of character now for Davey....get Monday over then start putting in some serious work. Just hope Ossie's not seriously injured .
James Vaughan returns to Everton's starting line-up for the visit of Portsmouth.
The striker replaces Jose Baxter in the team, and is the only change to the side named by David Moyes.
New signing Lars Jacobsen is on the bench, alongside Victor Anichebe who is back from Olympic duty.
The defence is unchanged from last week, and includes Phil Neville, Joseph Yobo, Joleon Lescott and Leighton Baines.
The four man midfield features Leon Osman, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka and Jack Rodwell, while Vaughan partners Yakubu up front.
Alongside Jacobsen and Anichebe in reserve are Iain Turner, Nuno Valente, John Paul Kissock, James Wallace and Baxter.
Pompey include Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe in their starting line-up.
Subject to medical today I think.
"I am quite disappointed my time with United has finished like this, with so many injury problems," said Saha. "But I am very happy a club of Everton's stature have shown they are interested in me.
"There is European football for one thing, and I was very impressed when I spoke to their manager David Moyes. He told me exactly how he wanted me to play. He was very honest with me.
"I also spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson and he said it would be good for me to sign for Everton because I would get the chance to play more than at United. He also thought it would help my fitness if I was playing every week."
What's racist about it ?
Can't be the "black" reference so must be Ecuadorian "drug baron" stereotyping that's the problem.
The world's gone fucking mad....hopefully we'll sing it anyway, I love it !
Did anyone see what this apology is about?
In last night’s Echo, new terrace chants drafted and published on a fans’ website and relating to new Everton signing Segundo Castillo were reproduced.
We apologise for any offence caused to the player, the club or to readers as a result of us reporting the subject matter.
The Liverpool Echo and its staff abhor racism of any description and any racist undertones in the item were non-intentional
Think Poulter will get one...not that he particularly deserves it.
And I'd rather have Casey than Dougherty or Monty....but then I'd prefer all three .
Have a feeling we're going to lose this time anyway, Tiger's a liability as far as Yank team spirit's concerned and I think they'll be stronger without him.
I don't remember seeing anyone saying anywhere that Liege were a crap team .
Huge club with a long history....nine Belgian Championships and five Cups and been going since 1900.
Coincidentally exactly the same domestic roll of honour as us!
Not playing (but he is on the bench) against United tonight.
I think he's off somewhere (but not to us).
You need also to take into account buying from the Russian league that they've already had half a season....if he (or anyone) joins a club with fifty or more games to go he's going to be fucked come Jan .
Greetings Belgian lad. The first of many I hope, just so long as you behave better than shit-loads of Italians did earlier this year you're welcome .
PS....found out whose fault it is that we drew them....
....lot to answer for 1982 !
If we think it's hard for us think how the Liege fans must feel.
They're proper Champions but have to qualify for the Champions League.
Despite that they're unseeded for the draw and they get one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
For long periods they outplay them but lose in the last minute through a defensive howler.
UEFA Cup draw and still (ridiculously imo) unseeded.
They get one of the top 5/6 favourites for the competition who had an incredible success rate last season.
Tough for us certainly but tougher on them
