  1. ..but Shearer is let off because the ref saw it and "dealt with it", so the FA can do nothing. Insane.
  2. Go along with that. On current form (ten points from five games): we have twenty-five games left, that's another fifty points so we end up with sixty-three..two more than last season. No problem!! Just doing it the other way round from last season..shit start great finish instead of great start crap finish.
  3. No, forgot them when I moved out of the council flat..
  4. That is way cool Pat..all time classic!!! (nearly as cool as "My old Man's a Dustman")
  5. Just for you Blueboys TERRY JACKS- SEASONS IN THE SUN ..as long as you have itunes..
  6. If he were to sign would that put any January move for Tommy G out of the window? Because he would make more sense long term if it's one or the other, I'd have thought..
  7. Now that Reggie has gone from Pompey who's next? My money is on "Mr Man Management" Souness and it seems I'm not alone... from "Newcastle online" Graeme Souness - 2/10 The final grains of sand are surely running through Souness’ Newcastle egg timer. Yes, Michael Owen was absent, as were Steven Taylor and Kieron Dyer, and as we know they are proper players. Yes, we should have been awarded a penalty when James McFadden handled Ameobi’s goal bound effort. None of those factors can possibly excuse a simply woeful 2nd half performance where we were second best in every department. His substitutions also left me wondering. Babayaro off was fine, but to bring Luque on and then move poor Charles N’Zogbia to left back was a daft move. He then brought on Bowyer in place of Solano which left us playing a left-midfielder at left-back, and 3 central midfielders in a 4-4-2. The chief tactic seems to be for Given to launch long balls in the direction of Ameobi and Shearer, which totally negates the creative element of Emre, N’Zogbia and Solano in our midfield. Simply hopeless
  8. 1-2 now with SKY BET something's happening for sure!!
  9. Don't need the link as I already know that it was.. "My old man's a dustman" by Lonnie Donegan ...which is really spooky because my old man was in fact..flogging chocolate for Nestle at the time(?) although later he worked for...EMI..which was a record label like Pye, who released "My old man..." Spooky eh? Or possibly not.
  10. Can't find anything apart from bit on NSNO that Paddy Power had stopped taking bets. But the bookies have got it from somewhere..time will tell I guess.. As he's a free agent does he still have to wait til Jan window to sign/play??
  11. ODDS CHECKER Bloody Hell, looks like a two horse race with us as favourite. Need to think about this one and get used to the idea..bit like when Norman Whiteside joined. You spend years hating someone then you have to re-evaluate. I'll cope.
  12. Lord Lucan..as for Yobo I would agree that it must be a worry. He is certainly a high quality player and as the mistakes get fewer more clubs will notice. It's the same old problem but we've, in my opinion, got to do everything to keep him!! PS What happened at Rosswell?
  13. Owen's out but McFadden starts .no Dunc but TC back in place of Kilbane.
  14. 14 (where the fuck is the per cent button, I can never find it) %.
  15. RICHARD BURNS Comparisons to George Best are daft (I'm sure I'll end up making some)but Richard Burns was Englands only ever world rally champion. He died at thirty-four after a brain tumour. He should have been thought of up with Nigel Mansell, Stewart, Hill(s), Moss and Button in the public mind but he wasn't. Had he been born in Sweden or Norway he would have been every much as big a star as George Best ever was. He was a lovely man, a magician behind the wheel and a true British sporting hero and he is (in my humble opinion), along with his family, at least as deserving of a candle as any flawed self destructive footballing genius.
  16. ..ah for the single life..I'm on in-law duty
  17. LINK ..had to happen but why not Turner or Ruddy(I know we've been here before).
  18. Tough one. Coming from a slightly different perspective as in I was (still am, I'm supposed to say) an alcoholic but not had a drink since 1994 I would have to point out that he didn't choose to be the way he was. Alcoholism is a massively frightening illness(?), weakness(?) and no one would ever choose it. Only two or three out of ten people who get treatment recover long term (defined as two years), most don't, a lot die a slow and horrible death like George. Since I stopped I've worked on and off as an addiction counsellor and seen more people die than I care to think of. Although the transplant issue clouds things a bit for some people in Georges case it's still enormously sad, but a hugely common occurrance. He was a special footballer, but is/was unfortunately a very ordinary man and alcoholic.
  19. ...as they say in political circles, I would like to associate myself with the remarks of the honorable gentleman..or in English, hear hear!
