oops didn't realise there was already a thread anyway, weird signing! glad we've got a bit of quality as backup for Howard though wish all our transfers came out the blue like that, rather than the long drawn-out affairs that the rest are!!

i've stayed out of most Yak discussions, but I really do think he's the nuts - great goalscoring record, perfect foil potentially for AJ If we signed Fernandes and Yakubu, I think we would do well in the UEFA Cup and League this year. without both I think we'll not make much progression at all. simple as that.

he's missing the point really. the reason footballers get paid more than the average worker is that their careers are pretty short-lived! 15 years is a good career in football nowadays.....and it's only really a few of the lucky ones that get the ridiculous pay days.... i think he could live to regret turning down offers from big clubs....

morning all, as i said yesterday, I was in the Spurs end for last night's game I'm amazed I didn't explode after Stubbsy's goal! four points to make on last night's game 1) Spurs fans are the worst home supporters EVER. I'm not exaggerating when I say I didn't hear one song, and heard maybe two chants in the whole game. 2) Anthony Gardener is SHITE 3) Jermaine Jenas is even worse! 4) Mikel Arteta would walk into any Premiership midfield the way he's playing at the moment. oh, and one more thing

actually another awful one was Charlton away last year. 1-1 draw, early kick-off on a Saturday. it pissed down with rain. and they paraded Jorge Costa and Mark Lewis-Francis in front of the fans. pointless. and depressing

not saying i'd spend £10m on Doyle - just saying there's not that many strikers available for less than £10m that are actually worth buying! I reckon we'd get Doyle for £5/6m

i reckon £10m would get us any of the following Defoe Keane Anelka Doyle Boyd (Rangers) they're probably the only players I can think of that would be good enough to pay anyway near £10m other than Yakubu, who I think is BRILLIANT
