  1. i voted osman by mistake (forgot about baines who was clearly our best player ) but yeah, i think osman had a really good game for about an hour - his touch and composure has improved massively in the last year. fellaini also did ok.
  2. not sure if this has been posted, apologies if so! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/7647780.stm
  3. that daily post article about moyes and everton is pretty well-judged. One sentence from it struck a chord with me "it could be argued that it’s a sign of the progress during six-and-half years under Moyes that an early UEFA Cup exit has prompted talk of a crisis." lets give Moyes a chance, a win on Saturday would put us top half again, and if we could pick up something from the next two games, morale might be boosted enough to go on and have a half-decent season....Sunday's game is massive though....
  4. my mate's a Mackem and he reckons Saha failed a medical with them 3 weeks ago
  5. totally out of leftfield!! good signing if he stays fit, but that's a big if.
  6. mate of mine at work is Nigerian and he said he's got a brilliant left-foot.......and that his best position is left wing
  7. only thing i'll say in moyesey's defence, it does say we have an option to buy him next summer - so long as we do that with the loan signings, it's not a problem (as we did with Pienaar and I think Arteta?) - maybe due to the lack of time Moyes has had this week to sign players (after the ones he really wanted.........AH BOLLOCK RED SHITES JUST SCORED - ......anyway......as I was saying, after the ones he really wanted came to nothing) maybe he's bringing these in on loan so as not to waste money, wants to see them playing for us first. it's a theory anyway

  9. extra time and my fingers couldn't be more crossed. always had a place for standard liege in my heart
  10. no idea mate, fingers crossed he's decent. averages a goal every six games pretty much from defensive mid - that's more than carsley ever got or neville's ever likely to!
  11. midfielder! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segundo_Castillo
  12. from Daily Mail gossip (about as trustworthy as me just saying it straight from my own mouth, but here goes...) Shaun Wright-Phillips, Chelsea to Everton - Insider says: 3/5 Despite strong interest from Manchester City, who have made Chelsea a better financial offer (£10million permanent transfer) for the former Eastlands' hero, Wright-Phillips' head has been turned by Everton. The England winger is keen on making a fresh start with Everton and the Toffees season-long loa - with a view to a permanent transfer - appears to be a likely outcome.
  13. for that I think I should be applauded writing a follow-up at the moment applying for Barwick's job
  14. i guess if you have a stab at creating thousands of rumours, logic suggests some will come true!!
  15. haha someone has, nicked from f365 and i work at the guardian so i take an interest in those types of things!
  16. recommend 2 good bands everyone should listen to - one well-known and one up and coming.... my two Bright Eyes http://www.myspace.com/brighteyes Defend Moscow http://www.myspace.com/defendmoscow
  17. at no point in this story does it quote us "rubbishing" reports of Jimmy Bullard joining http://www.evertonbanter.co.uk/2008/08/tia...ive-as-bul.html
  18. Carter returns to Everton board : Everton have re-appointed Sir Phillip Carter to the Everton board of directors according to the Official Site's listing of board members. Carter was on the board during Everton's most successful era, and signed the club up for the Premier League.
  19. according to reports in Italy, Tiago has signed http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=824938 EDIT: having read it a second time the story's pretty inconsistent - it says "reports in Italy" at the top, but then quotes the Daily Mail towards the end
  20. Brian Barwick The Football Association 25 Soho Square Westminster London W1D 4FA 18/08/2008 Dear Mr Barwick I am writing to confirm my retirement from the position of striker for England with effect from 18th September 2008. It is with sad regret that the nature of my lacklustre performance for The Badgers on the 16th August 08 led me to the conclusion that - for the long-term preservation of my club career - I can no longer commit to both club and country. Whilst I look forward to enjoying my retirement, I will greatly miss being available for selection for my country. May I take this opportunity to thank you and the FA for the support I have received during my playing career and point out that I am willing to explore alternative avenues in which I can lend a hand to support the development of the game at the highest level. I would appreciate confirmation of my retirement date and the arrangements for handing over my role within the England setup. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance during the transition period leading up to my retirement Yours Sincerely Mark Jefford
  21. he's a great lad, team player - saw him last year against us at Craven Cottage and he was loved by their fans....sure he will be by us too. As Mark says, not the world-class player we've been crying out for, but precisely the type of player we lack at the moment...
  22. happy birthday fella, reckon you're hammered by now!
  23. i started a new game at the weekend and my first signing was that Lorik Cana we've been linked to. he got sent off in his first game
