  1. to be honest i hope nugent does sign, cos at least it gives us hope - a young striker with potential - it may be false hope, but it's hope....
  2. StevO shall we compose a begging letter to Mr Abramovich?
  3. haha yeah i forgot about the blueboys rumours.... that'd be cool!
  4. so if it's a 12pm deadline for tomorrow, i guess that means we're not getting a new striker in time for tomorrow. wonder if we will by deadline day? probably not
  5. "in moyes we trust" - maybe not in the transfer market anymore.... thing is, i reckon moyes never wanted stubbs to go anyway (he was crucial last season) and i reckon now BK's authorised Kroldrup's sale and Moyes has said well in that case swallow your pride and bring Stubbs back.... i don't reckon Moyes is happy...
  6. says on bbc website that we've got him now too. says on there kroldrup's gone for £3.6m (so if we take 2mil profit on Bent, we've broken even) - but really we've broken even and lost Bent (seen as Stubbs was here in the first place...)
  7. fantastic thread this. i agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment and it's great to see anti-racism campaigns across the globe well done!
  8. agreed - it's sickening to hear of violence like this at football matches. it's like we still live in the bloody middle ages sometimes
  9. agreed - and it's a shame, cos the little bits i saw of last night's game he looked a good player - suppose we'll never know.... we are f*cked.....we need to buy players urgently
  10. that's be good. to be honest if we don't sign at LEAST one defender (really we need two or three) and at LEAST one striker, we're screwed!! unless he wants to rely on some kids coming in and doing a job, or as you say maybe he's got something lined up. another theory is that maybe it's out of Moyes' hands?
  11. do we have any good young defenders that can come in as cover if weiro or ferrari are injured?
  12. i have a suspicion that they're playing the media game a bit at the moment....putting out stories we're not interested in players rather than doing what we did in the summer and pretty much announcing signings before they're done....
  13. haha well i've run it through an online translation service and it came back with this "Here the words of Spalletti, technician of the Rome, on Koldrup player whom it has trained for various seasons to Udine: "a great player - Spalletti to fiorentina.it says - one splendid person. An exceptional player. He centers them defensive, physically put very well, a lot I toast. And of one stratospheric semplicità. They are content for he of this arrival to Florence, is a boy who deserves one great public square "
  14. pretty sure it was kilbane's boot. it was a nasty gash
  15. yeah fair point. is he ready though? what is he, 18? 19? just read a rumour that we're linked to David Healy which is one i've not heard for a while. could be worth a cheeky bid for a million or so...
  16. Anichebe was on the bench last night - i know he's scored a load of goals in the reserves, anyone know if he's ready for a few first team sub appearances?
  17. "Unlike most websites, we're certainly not one for speculating unless we firmly believe it's true, and this is one of them times."
  18. he's an aberdeen defender - can play all across the back - good little player - pretty young too - i've heard really good things about him and at 200k he could be a steal!
  19. we've sold Bent for £2-2.5m, and Kroldrup looks like he's on his way out for £3.5m So.....6 mil to spend - with that we need at LEASE one defender, preferably two, and at VERY least one striker, preferably 2 who's your favoured signing then peeps? I'd go for.... Hasselbaink - FREE (though i'd still pay £0.5m for him if required) Earnshaw - £2.5m Kevin McNaughton £200k (that was what he was rumoured to be moving to Fulham for) And then make a cheeky bid for an experienced and quality defender that just might be willing to move (Mjellberg? Barry?) for about £3m..... worth a go i reckon....
  20. i totally disagree with that. earnshaw got something like 15 goals last year. how many did bent get? and bent was our lone striker for most of the year!! earnshaw's a good goalscorer and an improvement if we're looking for a striker (someone that can score goals) rather than a workhorse or target man....
  21. yeah you're right - and let's all hope beattie can fire for the rest of the season - but now's the time to bring in a partner for him. my money's on earnshaw...
  22. splendid - best of luck to benty at charlton, never excelled for us, but he did a job. now it's time to get in a 15-20 a season striker
  23. haha - was reading that he should be out sometime next year once he's served half the sentence - that makes him 31 so he's still got a slight chance of a comeback.
