  1. he got banged up for death by dangerous driving
  2. yeah hasselbaink and earnshaw fighting for a place would be VERY healthy for our club. i'd also love to see a young defender come to us (the same way dawson went to spurs last year - anyone know any youngsters that spurs HAVEN'T signed yet!??!?)
  3. how do you know this? and any news on any other deals?!
  4. In Saturday's edition of The Sun the British public were treated to a list of all the under-21 players that Arsene Wenger has bought for Arsenal. These players were then given either a 'Hit' or 'Miss' rating, based on how well they did after joining the club. One of the players described as a 'Miss' was Niccolo Galli, who was also mentioned in the introductory text above the table. The general point seems to be that Galli never made it at Arsenal, no-one has ever heard of him and he was therefore a duff signing. The reason Galli never made the first team at Arsenal is because he was tragically killed in a car accident in his native Italy in 2001, at the age of just 17. At the time, the young defender was a lynchpin of both Arsenal's under-17 and under-19 teams. Brimming with potential, it was evident from his displays that he would have gone on to some success. So no, Galli never made the first team. But there is a damn good reason why - and to slate him as a bad signing is a slur on the memory of a fine young player
  5. i heard that since something like march 04 we haven't got a point after conceding first - woeful....
  6. yeah that's really good business especially as we're gonna be making a loss on kroldrup - i reckon earnshaw will score us a few goals and be a good foil for beattie
  7. yeah i agree with that gwladys - we have to get ferrari - i know he says he wants to go back to roma, but we have to at least try...
  8. hang on, if kroldrup goes, who the f*ck is gonna play at the back now Yobo's away? and if Beattie picks up a knock, who's gonna play up front if Ferguson AND Bent are both going? surely we ought to have bought people before selling anyone?!?!
  9. i'd like to see earnshaw for 3 mil, and nugent for a couple of mil. keep dunc, he's still a massively useful striker to have on the books. fair play to bent, he's worked his ass off and although he didn't score many goals he was CRUCIAL for most of last season. best of luck to him at charlton
  10. rather not have the club's profile raised the state we're in at the moment! the fewer people that know/notice the better!!
  11. what formations and tactics do you guys use? played it for the first time yesterday and i'm playing 4-4-2 with my individual players set up to just stick to their positions. i got celtic in the qualifiers for the champions league and drew 3-3 first leg, playing the 2nd leg tonight and i wanna get through!!
  12. happy attack (my band - plug plug) rem u2 oasis x 2 happy mondays x3 embrace athlete x 5 (!) long-view the thrills darkness jane's addiction eric clapton the who bob dylan stereophonics 13 senses ben folds ....................................to name a few.................... and best of all, east 17..........
  13. we should still be bidding 3 or 4 million for him in my opinion - at least if Moyes and BK do that and it's a genuine move, then if Grav (fairly) decides to go to Manyoo, no one can complain.... but non-movement in the market is as bad as fake movement i reckon!
  14. yeah i'd love to see thompson at Everton, but it won't happen cos sadly we can't attract anyone anymore.... wigan are now a more attractive option to players because a) they've got a shedload of cash (and haven't blown it all in one fell swoop they're a well run club beiong managed by a composed manager c) they're flying high in the league and are looking a safe bet for premiership safety and d) they're heading for the league cup final by the looks of it.... we, on the other hand are a bit of a mess....
  15. Everton are poised to hijack Fulham's bid for Celtic midfielder Stilian Petrov here and here Ferrari wants to go home here Michael Morrison and Adam Davies here
  16. Blackburn agree to release Jansen Jansen keen to end Rovers stay Matt Jansen's career statistics Blackburn have agreed to release Matt Jansen after the striker became frustrated at a lack of first-team action for Mark Hughes' side. The 28-year-old has started only 13 Premiership matches since his recovery from a 2002 motorcycle accident. Chairman John Williams said: "Given Matt's contribution over the years we feel we should not stand in his way. "He needs a new challenge and on behalf of everyone connected with the club we wish him well." Jansen moved to Rovers from Crystal Palace for £4.1m in January 1999. He was tipped to win England honours until a road accident left him in a coma for four days. He recently revealed his desire to leave Ewood Park, saying: "This is the hardest - and yet probably the most sensible - decision I have ever made. "I am not a troublemaker and I do not kick up a stink if I am not in the team but enough is enough." Jansen has since been linked with a move to Championship club Preston.
  17. booked my flights yesterday - booking accomodation with any luck today (EDIT: DONE! WOOP!) - 6 months seems SO far away though! so you pencilling in your trip back home to coincide with some footie i assume? commonwealth games, jeez.....tough breaks!
  18. i agree with the whole of that last post hafnia, but who do you hold responsible for it? moyes? bk? gregg? fortress fund? all of them? personally i think it's a combination of the lot, and i think the core of the blame should fall heavily in bk's lap - cos at the end of the day the promises he makes, the smokescreens he puts up (bids for owen, anelka blah blah) - the club has no transparency.... needs to be sorted asap or we could go down. but we're a football club and football ultimately decides what happens - if we sign anelka and gravesen in the next two weeks, and beat portsmouth at the weekend and millwall in the replay, suddenly the doubts vanish. (especially when vdm, kroldrup, martyn, yobo etc are all fit and challenging for first team football....)
  19. anyone going? i'm booking my tickets for a week away in Frankfurt today!
  20. i've not been confident all season you know - but for some reason i reckon we can do chelski!! probably just blue-tinted glasses, but i reckon this'll be our year!!
  21. that jose goncalves is on trial for a few days
  22. what a surprise - Souness is after him too!! SOUNESS SEEKS OUT ANELKA Click here for our Transfer Centre Click here for more Newcastle news Under-pressure Newcastle boss Graeme Souness could be set to solve his striker crisis by making a move for Fenerbahce ace Nicolas Anelka. The Magpies chief, who saw his team take just one point from three games over the festive period, is facing up to life without Michael Owen after the England hotshot was ruled out for three months with a broken toe. Souness is a long-time admirer of controversial former Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City ace Anelka and could now tempt his Turkish side with a bid. Anelka, 26, would relish the chance to return to England and was quoted in the Sun as saying: "If I do leave Fenerbahce, I would like to go to England. The idea of returning to a big club is moving me forward." The pressure on Souness, meanwhile, shows no sign of easing with some reports on Monday suggesting the gruff Scot could lose his job in the next 72 hours, with Bolton boss Sam Allardyce touted as a potential successor.
  23. surely it must be on loan.....there's not a chance BK would stump up even 3 or 4 million would he?
