  1. well he's signed up and apparently he will be the highest paid manager outside the premiership! and the most inexperienced as well.
  2. west ham and charlton! they arent in our league. both are lucky to be in the premiership and we'll see where they end up at the end of the season. my guess is well below us! one minute this guy can't offer an opinion because he doesnt know enough, (thats true), next he's pontificating about how much better than us these two sides are. you can't have it both ways!
  3. So Moyes planned for Kilbane to be sent off then did he? dont talk rubbish! or, bearing in mind the rest of your posts, dont talk more rubbish!
  4. mark hughes of blackburn is looking dodgy! anchored at the bottom of the league
  5. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/5290454.stm "Thomas Gravesen fears he will run out of time before a transfer from Real Madrid to one of the five British clubs chasing him can be completed. Gravesen told BBC Sport that Celtic and four English Premiership sides - Newcastle, Bolton, Middlesbrough and his old club Everton - were in for him. "
  6. Thats because Watford play the long Game and bypass the midfield... no, our midfield wimped out. every loose ball in midfield seemed to go to watford. that was the biggest improvement against spurs, the loose balls were going to us because we put up a fight for them. tactically moyes was spot on against spurs, and theyre a tough team to beat at wh lane. also lescotts injury looked like an elbow to me!
  7. the side picked is the one moyse thought was right for that particular game, taking into consideration injuries etc. kilbane is a good squad player and useful backup, he's got a lot of experience and he can fill the gap when needed. every premiership side has its kilbanes, except maybe chelsea. no club consists of 11 stars.
  8. moysey deserves the credit for the hard work and preparation that went into our win against spurs. the team was really well organised and the players all knew exactly where they should be and what they should be doing. it was a big improvement over the watford game when the midfield went awol for a lot of the match. well done moysey!
  9. he's certainly making his presence felt in the premiership, and thats a good thing. but he'll need to be consistent to be first choice in the england squad. maybe this extra incentive will inspire him to score more goals for us!
  10. i agree but we need a bit of muscle and grit in midfield. weve gotta lot of midfielders but none who you could call a stopper!
  11. watched the game live here on telly. missed the first 15 minutes tho. it was a great performance, the lads showed a lot of character and determination. a lot more than they did against watford. the midfield in particular played like wimps against watford, but they showed true grit against spurs. but moyse deserves a lot of credit for this performance. the strategy was right, the team was obviously right, and the lads were well prepared and knew exactly what they had to do.
  12. moysey has done a great job. he got the side well organised and well disciplined. they all knew their job and they all did their job. brilliant!
  13. GOOD NEWS FROM SPORTING LIFE! "Tottenham manager Martin Jol has doubts over midfielder Jermaine Jenas and striker Dimitar Berbatov ahead of their clash with Everton at White Hart Lane tomorrow. Jenas failed to train on Thursday after receiving a knock on his toe while Berbatov is nursing an ankle injury. Both players were on the scoresheet in their 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Tuesday night and Jol remains hopeful they will recover in time. Captain Ledley King is still sidelined after surgery to cure a knee problem. Everton will be without veteran defender Alan Stubbs because of a hamstring problem. However, the Toffees are boosted by the return of full-back Nuno Valente and centre-back David Weir following groin injuries. Summer signing Joleon Lescott gets the chance to start his first Premiership match, having come on as substitute for Everton twice this season and never having played in the top flight when his former club Wolves were last in the division due to injury."
  14. graveson is kicking his heels back in denmark. can we get him on loan? "Real's Gravesen back in Denmark mulling options -- the guardian COPENHAGEN, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Real Madrid's Thomas Gravesen has returned to Denmark to train with former club Vejle amid confusion as to whether or not the midfielder made the trip with the approval of the Primera Liga side. Real said the international had not been given permission to return to Denmark." ALSO:-) "West Ham boss Alan Pardew could spend the bank holiday weekend licking egg off his face: he's been banging on about sealing a £2.5m deal for Steed Malbranque, but now Everton and Bolton have waded in. At least Everton are only offering Simon Davies, eh Pards?" waddya think? will any business result?
  15. Real's Gravesen back in Denmark mulling options "COPENHAGEN, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Real Madrid's Thomas Gravesen has returned to Denmark to train with former club Vejle amid confusion as to whether or not the midfielder made the trip with the approval of the Primera Liga side. Real said the international had not been given permission to return to Denmark. "It is not correct that this trip has the club's approval. He does not have permission," a Real Madrid spokesman said on Friday. But Denmark coach Morten Olsen said the Spanish club had agreed to let Gravesen train with Vejle. The midfielder has been linked in the media to several British clubs, including Newcastle United and Celtic." he seems to be out of a club, if not a job at the moment. i wonder why? can we get him on loan?
  16. any game in london is tricky. spurs are a good side but they arent any better than we are. if we get it right we can take a point and maybe steal a couple more. i'd like to see faddie or anichebe get a start. and maybe andy vdm, as long as he's fit. he's seems keen to prove himself and he's got the ability if not the motivation sometimes. i'd like to see pistone at left back to release neville to midfield were he does a better job. i'd drop carsley. he doesnt look up to it. in fact its a pity he didnt go to wolves because the championship is now the place for him. ................................... HOWARD................................. PISTONE ............... YOBO...... LESCOTT............VALENTE ARTETA.................OSMAN...............CAHILL .............VDM/DAVIES ..............................AJ ............ FADDIE.......................... and god bless all who sail in her!
  17. i dont think that davies has had enough time on the pitch. he isnt the kind of player that you can bring on for 20 minutes to turn games around. he's got the sill and the flair but i dont think the guys ever played a full 90 minutes since we bought him. got this from the guardian: "West Ham boss Alan Pardew could spend the bank holiday weekend licking egg off his face: he's been banging on about sealing a £2.5m deal for Steed Malbranque, but now Everton and Bolton have waded in. At least Everton are only offering Simon Davies, eh Pards?"
  18. the criticisms youve levelled at Everton fc could just as easily be made against every club in the premiership except the big four. thats life!
  19. how fast can he do it when someone sticks out a boot and trips him up?
  20. apparently mourinho is livid. a bit of shopping therapy may be called for. maybe cole is worth 25 mill after all! or get rid of gallas to make the deal seem more economical. will there be panic buying at chelsea. £20 million for weir?
  21. yes i agree. fifa have to sit down and work it out. violence and cheating are not sport -- no matter what game your playing. if something isnt done to protect the game skill levels wont improve and it will become boring to watch.
  22. there is no room for thugs in football any more. kick this guy out of the game.
  23. i think thats why theyve brian kidd in there. he should be able to moderate keanes, what shall we call it? natural exuberance?
  24. no thanks. the russian mafia can stay at home as far as i'm concerned. mourinho is livid about the midweek loss to middlesborough. time for another frantic shopping spree before the window closes?
  25. no. i dont think we need him, weve got lescott, yobo, valente and hibbert -- all pretty good!
