Have not seen it but why did Howard feel the need to trip Ki? Big chance for three points squandered here by a couple of bad moments Osman and Timmy. No Barry or Mirallas for the Southampton game. Regroup City Arizona.

Swann's retired.
Couldn't just hang around for a couple more weeks and try to end his career showing a bit of fighting spirit? I am sure they would all like to come home.

Little boy to dad - "Dad is it true Everton have 34 points?"
Dad - "Yes son."
Little Boy to dad - "Where is my Easter egg?"
Thought we were the better team. Seamus a better finisher than that Saldado dude. What a goal he scored. Anyone still want Hibbert to play?

We would need to win all our home games, the Anfield Derby and probably the Chelsea game. I expect a lot of draws between the other contenders and Liverpool. If we are still around the top four in April I might start thinking we could go all the way. Whatever happens I have had more fun these last four months under Matinez than the last four years under the Wizard.

Clatterburg gets on my tits. Parrot hair cut, clasped handshakes with everyone and inept performances. Definitely on my punch list - just between Gerry Adams and Louis Walsh.

Thing of beauty isn't it? ie us emerging from the dark ages when defenders just kicked it out that is.Great dummy from Pienaar. Standard Coleman goal from the back post, hopefully kick on and bag another.
Shame about the kid. Play wthin ourselves and win 4-1. Weebittight likes this.

He has modernised an area of our team that was begging improvement for years. Man of the match at Wembley twice - Blackpool and the ROI. Late starter so he's should continue to improve - and if he does expect the monied clubs to come sniffing.
-
I reckon it is between us and The Reds for fourth. We are certainly by far the better unit but they have more than one match winner and it is just silly to say otherwise. Would anyone take a win at Anfield, fifth place and the FA Cup. I'd break your arm for that scenario.

So much better isn't it? Read a quote from Micah Richards lauding Coleman's engine. Massively improved defender too. Proper football team the Blues.

Just seen The Wizard's latest prickly interview. I wish he had gone sooner.

What numerous better opportunities to do better did Moyes turn down - Newcastle United?

Makes you wonder how many more wins we might have got away to the top four over the years if we had actually had a real go like we did last night. What the players are saying suggests to me they have fully bought into Roberto's approach. I normally dread us going to the Arsenal. Now I can't wait.
-
Should be opportunities to play on the break - we do now with a real menace. Got to defend well though. Hopeful rather than confident.
Re Moyes. If Everton could play without a manager why did he feel the need to commentate on every ball?- "run here, run there". He never shut his gub.

I thought Coleman was probably the weakest link again yesterday. He got forward excellently all game and I have no issues with that aspect but I thought he was caught out positionally quite a few times, especially when it was 0-0. Assaidi looked to have the beating of him in the first spell but he got better as the game went on and looked most comfortable when Stones came on and he moved to RWB.
Weakest link again? He had an excellent derby defensively.

Much to admire apart from the obvious wizardry of Gerry. Coleman rewarded for one of several lung bursting support runs he made yesterday, Oviedo's performance and another clean sheet. I am guessing Barkely will return against United. Looking forward to it.

Barry likely to fill in at left back. Losing Baines is a blow in itself but the knock on effect isn't great either.

Coleman had a fantastic match. He completely nullified Coutinho's influence on the match, covered brilliantly using his superb recovery speed on several occasions and almost set up a winner in the dying seconds. Improving all the time.
-
Proper game of football. Some fantastic performances from several in Blue. Barkley, Jagielka and Coleman the pick of them for me. Seamus kept Coutinho quiet for most of it. Does not get enough credit.
Think we would have lost if Allen had scored - but several great chances of our own squandered.

Been to two derbies - a 0-3 reverse when Torres ripped Hibbert to threads and the one where Rodwell was wrongly sent off. It is essentially a miserable experience. Why can't they be relegated?
-
-
Our problem is we always see ourselves as inferior to Liverpool, if we played attacking football we'd win more derbies than we lose.
Maybe that was because the previous manager kept telling everyone how much more money they had spent and the quality they posessed. I like our chances better with the positivity Martinez fosters.

Good game. That is as close as City have been pushed at home all season to be fair. Linesman from the Blind Institute or it might have been a different result. Rare error from Minolet. Rodgers' comments on the ref will surely see him fined.
