  1. A lot of the players may be glad Moyes has moved on, Fellaini being one of them? He seemed to have his arse in his hand where Moyes was concerned for playing him here, playing him there..... Yes, he's said he was grateful to Moyes for disciplining him to remind him where his loyalties lay, after dropping the dome on Shawcross, but he seemed to be sulking round some of the time instead of getting on with it, like others did. Fellaini can be hit and miss performance-wise. I thought at the start of this season he was doing a Gravesen by playing for a move in January, because he was brilliant, as when he's good he's very very good but when he's bad...... Fellaini has time (and talent) on his side. I can't recall him being dropped because of his sulking because we needed him and he knew it. That might not be the case somewhere 'bigger'. He earns a life changing amount of money every week playing for us, the only things missing are the gongs and unforgiving riches of the Champions League. He can afford, in his career and to realise what he wants to achieve from the game apart from money (he has that), to give it a season under Martinez. He's virtually guaranteed a game with us and Martinez might just be someone he enjoys playing for.
  2. The BBC have us as going into battle with Spurs over him. I would rather just try and sign him on loan than start a war. Spurs have got a bigger squad than us and although we're obviously much harder than Spurs, extra numbers can sometimes swing it in a battle.
  3. Another thing you know is their fans are real 'lookers'! Check out the Walmartian in the black, bottom centre of the photo in that link. Somebody's daughter, I know, but she said she wants you a fight!
  4. Can only take it you're too young to remember the likes of David Lawson, George Wood and Dai Davies. They were truly goalkeeping desperate times. As for Richard Wright, who can ever forget, from those who saw it, the sight of that bastard clown on a rainy night in West London injuring himself in the pre-warm up at Stamford Bridge when he caught a ball and landed on a sign which said, because of the weather; "DO NOT PRACTICE IN THIS AREA"to then be carried off and miss the game! It wasn't long after that he fell out of his loft!
  5. Romey 1878, on 04 Jul 2013 - 22:06, said: I think ageing squad was a gripe at Chelsea the last time Mourinho was there and now he's back..........
  6. Yes it was - lunchtime kick-off, too - early start to go and watch a match over there - crap journey wherever you're travelling from
  7. A bag of cat litter - this was the last thing which went into the trolley in Sainsbury's last night, I think, so that.
  8. I've never understood patriotism or why people are proud to have been born in a certain part of the world, wherever that may be. Include my own country of birth, England, in there along with every other. Americans are worst for it but it's not their fault and not every American buys into it. It's only because of conditioning and the nonsense they've been fed and believed during their formative years, but in their case to a level way beyond that of other countries or areas of countries, coupled with their reluctance to acknowledge and learn about life outside their borders during the same years. Tell yourself or be told something often enough you will eventually end up believing it, however unreal it may be. The only creditable thing Americans can have pride in or give thanks for is not the design on a flag or in a song it is that they landed on the moon. It is an amazing achievement to land on something which is made of cheese.
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/22983292 From this earlier article within the other link it sounds like he's had his troubles and is levelling things out again. Good luck to him.
  10. Sounds like a showboater - I do free-kicks and dribbling - not for me (anymore).
  11. Demba Ba? The barcodes did that with him to us, too - and got a fair old profit when they moved him on.
  12. By explaining what he sees in Kone in the way he has explained it says to me Martinez knows exactly what he's talking about, he knows exactly what he needs at Everton to make his system work and it manages the fans expectations of Kone as a striker in that he will score goals but he's also a team player who will create chances for others both with his use of the ball and the space around him. Chances are we've already signed a cracker of a manager so get Kone in here too. Pronto! £5/6m will seem like chicken feed if he does the business compared with £5/6m for someone younger who turns out to be no good for us. Sign him!
  13. Retired from football in 2011 - played for Norwich in The Premier League. Maybe this is where Rooney will end up? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/23117123
  14. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/07/03/martinez-on-transfer-talk For those who may not be able to access the link; Everton boss Roberto Martinez recognises that the Blues will continue to be linked with plenty of names as he assesses his squad ahead of their return on Thursday. A number of media outlets continue to report that the Spaniard will make free-agent Antolin Alcaraz and Wigan Athletic striker Arouna Kone his first signings at Goodison Park. The Toffees boss understands the media attention but has reminded Evertonians he will only sign players he thinks will add to the talent and personality within the dressing room. “You can expect those sorts of names,” Martinez told evertontv. “They are players that I know really, really well. I worked with them really closely and they are players that are used to the Premier League and the British game. “So you will always get those sorts of situations but at the moment we are still looking to try and bring the right characters to the football Club. “We need to remember that we have a very strong team at the Club, but in the same way we don’t want to close the window without feeling stronger than we were when the window opened. “So I’m sure that we will have many other names mentioned around and hopefully we are going to get the right characters to represent our football Club.” Martinez added: "I think we need to bring in three or four new faces - one per unit, and make sure we get an extra option or dimension into the squad. The most important aspect is to try to keep the squad together and get every player ready."
  15. Swansea sign Shelvey for £5m. WTF? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/
  16. Baines is vital to Everton according to Martinez http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23167953 Edit - Just reading EFC website and the BBC have pulled this almost word for word from there. Another piece of incisive journalism from Auntie.
  17. So was I but the attempt at self-deprecation obviously went West. No harm done eh? Edit: I still don't want Dyer anywhere near an Everton shirt.
  18. Nasty, arrogant, prima donna (Nathan Dyer, not you).
  19. Well! That's told me! However, if it appears on their site they're linking us, as far as I'm concerned, as they have posted the link to that arse wipe rag on their website so they're doing the linking. Does the end sausage in an open link of sausages not feel part of the original link because it is at the end (or start)? Would it be more technically and politically correct to say the BBC had sub-linked this story (as I don't want to be accused of not linking correctly)? Does that make the end sausage a sub-sausage? Ner, ner, ner ner ner!
  20. Indeed! I hope he hasn't got a ridiculous goal celebration, though! A lot of Africans do. Pienaar just lifts his shirt up, these days, but he used to do the pissed, almost falling over tribal Dad dancing thing. Not a good look. Hope Kone doesn't do that (nor kneel down, stick his arse up in the air and kiss the grass - if he needs to pray there's a church in the corner!) edit - must learn to spell
  21. BBC report Martinez is to offer £5m for Nathan Dyer. Please God, five million times NO!
  22. Everyone has their price but £16m isn't it for Baines (though he could do with defending a bit better) so get lost Moyes, you Manc :-), you've had your starting bid rejected now come up with something more realistic.
