He has so much confidence in his own ability to beat his man, and never hides he is constantly looking for the ball, unfortunately his ability is well below his own level of confidence, but I have to say I admire his determination and his willingness to have ago.
I would rather see that than the half hearted player that is McNeil, at least with Harrison you know he won’t go down without a fight, yet McNeil would struggle to reach a whimper, what an absolute joke he has been this season yet he still becomes one of the first names on the team sheet, and for me that highlights the poor decisions that Dyche constantly makes when it comes to player performance, he never seems to see when something or someone isn’t working, so frustrating at times it makes my blood boil.

I'd choose McNeil over Harrison any day. Jack Harrison has been a big disappointment for me.

    Proposals? self explanatory really Matt

Attacking coaches for a start - wouldn't hurt would it?

Maybe not have finishing drill where the keepers let them in (and yes that actually happens to instil confidence)

Make changes sooner and then maybe we wouldn't concede 27 of the 43 we've conceded in the last 20 minutes of a game.  He makes subs when the tempo has already dropped -  too late!

Above all Matt......... when something doesn't work - make changes.

I understand a few got a bit giddy a few pages back as though all was good and Dyche was the manager we've always needed and someone like me saying "we need to look on the market for his replacement now" was subject to laughs.

This manager has huge limitations and a few strengths which should see us possibly be ok....... we should not be persevering with him.  It was as clear as day to a few that he is not a long term manager.

I'm sure we're spending a lot of time practicing set pieces, including corners. A few seasons ago, our corners were predictably terrible. Today, they are the source of several of our goals. More can be done, for sure, regarding finishing in open play, but that's more down to individual players.

Hopefully the 2nd part doesn’t come too fruition, but if it does I have faith that we can still find the points needed to keep us up should we receive another 6 points penalty.
I also think we need to believe that it is a real possibility, and should be planning the rest of the season out on the outcome it’s going to happen.

There's no way the authorities can change the rules and apply two financial penalties in one financial year. Such a decision would surely be overturned. What would make sense is deferring any second points reduction to the next season.

If there was any logic to this then the mere fact that the rules around it are changing in August because it's been realised that the current rules are flawed would mean that our two charges and Forest's are dismissed entirely and our 10 points reinstated.

Logic is in short supply though.

In which case the fans should sue for unnecessary mental anguish.

Personally, I think the fact it's taking a while is a good thing. Surely, if they were just keeping the original punishment it'd have been announced by now.

There has to be two decisions:

    1) Should Everton's 10-point reduction be upheld or should it be reduced? I'm hoping for it to be halved.

    2) Should Everton face two point deductions in the same season? The answer to this really has to be "no".

I think Stokes and McCullum are a bit too loyal at times and will stick with the two of them for a bit yet. Loyalty is good but you have to learn when it's the right time to get a player out as well.

Even just a game or two might help, it could light a fire in them. We know Bairstow usually performs at his best when he feels he's been wronged or written off.

You mean like keeping Maguire or Henderson on the England football team? Continuity is important, for sure, but loyalty can be taken too far. There must be a ruthless streak in team selectors to build a legacy.

  7. He just needs to keep doing what he's doing. We've just emerged from a tough stretch of games, and all the cup distractions are in the past, so now we can focus on a sequence of games that are especially important. Things could look a lot better after playing Palace and Brighton. Sheffield United and Burnley look like certs for relegation, while Luton are playing well. Our sights must be firmly on Forest and Palace, which is why our next game is so crucial.
