and yet he continually went on national duty when he WAS STILL INJURED and then stole a wage from our club after getting injured time after time when he was half fit on national duty.  ROI didn't get stuck with the wage and medical bills, we did, all because of his stupidity and selfishness.

Mark you cant just refuse a call up or you run the risk of being banned at club level and fined. He either retired from international football for good or had to go. If anyone is to blame its Martin O'Neill and the Ireland FA, not McCarthy.

Yeah I agree, I was impressed by the seasons finish.  Digne and Bernard played a big part in that so I hope they keep Bernard in, if we need cover Richarlison can switch Wings and bring in Walcott, I know Walcott is not everybody's choice but its only in an emergency.

This gives Brands Time to bring in one of his up and coming finds that would be cheaper, other than that I would go for that Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth, 7 goals and 14 assists last season and probably half the price.

Had a great season last year but I feel it might of been a flash in a pan. He's out of contract next summer anyway, most clubs will be waiting to see if he can replicate his form then get him on a free.

Just reading sky sports and they’re saying palace still want mccarthy. They’ve had one bid rejected but they are trying to put a structure in place for the fee!! They want £65 mill upfront off us but they want to structure £8 mill?

It will be they want more of the £65m upfront, not all of it.

I’d say yes because of his finishing, but it would depend on the setup of the team and we’re moving away from a single source of goals so then I say no. As a backup I think he’s highly adept

I agree but I'm pretty sure he wont want to be a back up, especially if we are using only one out and out striker this season, it would push him to 3rd, maybe even 4th choice.

Agreed. Not every move is going to be (or should be) earth shattering. If this happens it strikes me as a good, sensible piece of business. If Coleman starts to slip in a couple years then we can start looking for "the future".

in a couple of years? He started to slip massively last season. Credit where it is due, he did pull himself together but still he needs solid competition, if not replacing, which this fella will do.

I'd hope Holgate is the back up RB. Agree with everything else you have said though.

Zaha is more productive. This big fish small pond stuff is rubbish. If he can produce those numbers for Palace he can do it for us. He doesn't get any special treatment at Palace.

I think if Zaha came he would be our best wide man albeit it would be close with Richarlison.

I pray that's the case if we don't sign a RB this window. I don't think I could cope with another match of Martina!

In regards to Zaha, that is exactly what I think, Bernard brings a good link up play but he contributed 1 goal. if you want to do all competitions then its 2 goals all season, this is a poor return, Walcott scored more. This needs to improve this season and I hope it does for him, but Zaha would be an upgrade in terms of attacking football. No doubts about it for me.

Then that proves we are going to be expecting to much from him to early, we need to develop these youngsters with the help of senior players in there positions, who have we got who can show Kean and DCL the finer points of being a striker Niasse.

But let’s go your route and throw another youngster in at the deep end and see if he can swim, we without a doubt need someone like a Costa who can help bring these youngsters a long.

Right then, name the player we can 1. afford. 2. wont stop the progression of Kean (who is talented enough to start) 3. has a resale value which is what the club are going for.

Costa isn't any of the above 3. You have backroom staff to teach the players, you have the players to play the games.

I’m not expecting him to set the world on fire it’s a tough league and he’s still a young lad with a lot to learn, but he is a great prospect.

I would have liked to have seen someone like Costa come in to give us that initial injection of goals that we desperately need, and also to help develop Kean and DCL, who need someone to show them what it takes to be a top striker, my fear is who are they gonna to learn from day in day out.

The whole reason Kean has left Juventus, who btw had Ronaldo teaching him, is so he can get game time, we would never of bought Kean if we got Costa.

Why would you want to break up the Digne/Bernard partnership which flourished last season? What does Zaha have that makes him a better replacement?!

10 goals and 5 assists mate, countless vital passes that have led to chances. I love Bernard, I do, but in this game these days there is no room for sentiment. What's to say Zaha and Digne don't do a better job? Going by that question if the best left winger in the history of football was available for us to sign would you not want to do it? We want to compete and upgrading is how we do this.

  10. Sig isn't a winger. Kean isn't a winger. DCL isn't a winger. Please repeat until that has sunk in, this is Koeman tactics of trying to put square pegs in round holes. For us to progress we have to sign a winger who goes straight into the team, they would replace Bernard for me, as good as he is, there is no room for sentiment when you want to compete. Zaha would go straight into the team for me.

However right now I would say a CB and RB are the main priority over a winger, at present moment do you all know who is our senior back up right back? Cuco fucking Martina.

As for Bolasie and Mirallas, I wouldn't even play them in the U23's. Shitehawks.

  11. 10 goals last season, 5 assists. that's 15 goals he's been involved in for a proper shite team in Palace. Think of what he would get in a half decent team. You're fooling yourself if you don't think he is worth around £60m in todays market.

As for us saying "we wont be bidding again" I'm sure a certain cult said the same about a player who now plays for them...
