  1. He's scored against the likes of Brazil, Holland, Argentina, Spain, Serbia, France. Been man of the match against France at the World Cup, man of the tournament as Mexico won the concacaf gold cup. I see what you're saying but he's more than a super sub in my opinion
  2. Yeah he was linked with both Real and Atletico a couple of years ago I think, and it would have been more like £20m then probably. I would snap their hand off at £10m as I think he would score loads for us
  3. Just started watching Bates Motel. Half way through the first series at the moment, had it on the Sky box for months and never got round to watching it until now. Seems decent so far, and series 2 starts in April
  4. I would say Maradona. But like you I can only pick from players I've seen in my lifetime really
  5. Yeah he's pretty small. Guess it depends where he would be played, think he can play on the wing or through the middle, but if he's more of a number 10 then we have Ross for that. And got enough wingers too really. I suppose there are a few small number 9's out there, Defoe, Hernandez, etc. If he can up his goal ratio he might be worth a shot
  6. I think we pretty much agree 90%. Having said all that, I would have a spontaneous orgasm if he turned up at Finch Farm this coming pre-season after a master coup by Roberto haha
  7. The shite have been linked with Bojan Krkic. At £5m would anyone take a punt on him? I would at that price, but it could be made up nonsense. Ajax have the option of a second year's loan next season, if they don't take it I'm sure Roberto could work his magic with his Catalan mates at Barca
  8. Well I guess teenagers would probably put him top 5 all time, but what do they know? Haha. It's so hard to judge different eras, he's such an athletic specimen, worked so hard too people forget that, he was a skinny kid and worked his arse off to get where he is. Considering his goal stats and the fact he's doing it in the champions league and for his country too, he would probably get top 15 or 20 all time for me, but like I said impossible to judge. For example I've never seen Puskas play, there will be loads of other players I can't accurately judge who might be better
  9. It's unjust for Lampard to keep racking up the caps while we're crying out for a player like Barry in the midfield. I can see Gerard playing the holding role in Brazil, perhaps that's why Roy isn't looking at Barry as he's got it planned already.
  10. I think it's related to his health and it's his decision. Sad news, only heard good things in his short time in the role
  11. He's a handy squad player at club level because he can play RB, CM, RM, etc. But he's a jack of all trades and master of none. So at international level I just don't think that's good enough. There are better options in all of his positions. But yeah I did go over the top in my view on him haha
  12. To be honest I think most people would agree with you. Definitely top 3 or 5 in the world right now, but all time he's nowhere near a Maradonna for example, as you rightly said
  13. Haha! Johnson definitely deserves a call up, what more can he do he's on fire. Roy obviously didn't want to upset Cole so he picks 3 LB's and only 2 decent CB's (plus Smalling). He should have used these friendlies to see a couple more young prospects I think. I mean what else does he need to know about Lampard that he doesn't already know at this stage? Should have rested him and given Johnson a chance to stake a claim
  14. He's quick, scores with both feet and a deadly finisher when on form. Given a consistent run in a good PL team I think he'd score plenty, he'd be high on confidence playing for someone like Martinez too. But it's all opinions and mine is only one, no more valid than yours
  15. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26373116 Roy has called up 3 left full backs and only 3 centre backs (and that's including Smalling as a CB!). Defoe called up, so he must be planning on considering him for the World Cup despite the fact that he'll be playing in Toronto. Milner again, that fucker will probably retire will 150 caps and kids in 50 year's time will probably think he was brilliant. Look how many caps he got! And trophies too, he must have been great. No. No, he was shit son. I was there trust me
  16. Worth a shout! Several reasons why: United paid less than that, so they could save face and make a profit. He's settled in the area and wouldn't have to move. Cleverley will tell him good things about Martinez from his time at Wigan. Finally, most importantly, five minutes with Roberto and he'd be convinced! Just need him to keep being overlooked by Moyes, so his price doesn't go up. Also get it agreed nice and early before the World Cup, as a few Spanish clubs have been linked in the past and might be again.
  17. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/riddick-bowe-apologises-liverpool-fc-6751208 Here it is, had posted in 'longest thread' the the general sport bit, wasn't sure where to put it
  18. Haha yeah I posted that in another thread as well, pretty funny!
  19. I do get what you're saying and I'm sure most will agree with you rather than me. But Wigan and Swansea proved it can be done, Portsmouth too as I'm sure 'Arry never went route one either. But mixing things up when it's not working is definitely something that should be done I agree, as long as overall principles on how the game should be played remain the same. I would lose respect for Roberto if he shit himself if losing at the Emirates for example, and changed to long ball tactics. But he never would I don't think. Minor changes though, yeah I agree
  20. Maybe McGeady would also be able to give the manager an opinion on Doumbia having played in the same league. If he's free then it could be a good shout at a low risk
  21. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/riddick-bowe-apologises-liverpool-fc-6751208 It seems US boxer Riddick Bowe is a blue. And also a little crazy haha
  22. It's a tough one. Bony would probably cost £20m as well, and unless they get relegated I don't even think they would sell him. If we do decide against bidding that kind of fee for Lukaku, then it would have to be someone from abroad I think, as I can't think of anyone good enough already over here that would be cheap enough.
  23. I don't agree with the whole winning ugly thing. Brazil, Spain, Barcelona, Arsenal (post 1996) - won plenty and never ugly. Yes, others have won ugly, maybe Italy for example, and Chelsea's CL run was ugly as hell but successful! For more realistic examples than the teams above with their world class players, see Swansea and Wigan's cup success. Just my personal opinion of course.
