  1. Hopefully he'll add a few more goals to his game to go along with the assists. Quite probable that he will I think, as under the current system he'll be cutting inside to shoot just as often (if not more often) than he'll be crossing it into the box. Could turn out to be a great signing. Never been tested in a world class competitive league before, but worth the gamble for the fee involved
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25745171 £75k a week according to Phil McNulty
  3. Mr. Elstone has caught the 'phenomenal' bug from Roberto
  4. His best season was 10 in 29 PL games. Suppose he might get more in a better team (I.e. Everton). Only worth considering as it would be a nominal fee like McGeady, and even then I would ship him out in the summer for a profit, unless he had somehow set the league on fire which is unlikely
  5. That guy tweeting the training camp pics is saying that his first touch is terrible. I'm sure it will improve over time, definitely improved in the last game
  6. The guy who is tweeting all the pics of the Tenerife training camp says that he's spoken to Heitinga, who favours a move abroad IF he leaves, and that there's nothing in the Newcastle story. Then again what else is Heitinga supposed to say whilst he's still contracted, he wouldn't confirm unofficially even if he was close to signing for somebody
  7. And apparently he did the exact same thing to force a move away from Southampton a few years ago, went on strike
  8. Great link thanks. Gibson could have at least smiled for him haha!
  9. Always admired Simon Weston after watching a documentary about him at school. I know he's done a lot of charity work, just checked his Wikipedia page and it says he has the freedom of the city of Liverpool Stephen Hawkins is another I admire, achieving so much despite his physical limitations
  10. Best case scenario? Signed for nominal fee considering he would be free in the summer. Rediscovers his (one good season) Sunderland form, scores a few from the bench and when used in rotation, wages not that high, then sold in the summer for £5m. Not too far fetched is it? Haha

    Hi!

    Thanks for the welcome guys
  12. Just to add my 2p worth to this debate.... it has been said above that being gay is not 'natural', however homosexual behaviour exists in otter species not just ours; including other primates. Live and let live is what I say Edit - meant 'other species' not otter species. Although I'm sure otters probably have a dabble too
  13. Not sure same tactics is true, Fergie certainly more adventurous than Moyes
  14. Agree with all of those. And to think one of Moyes' first significant acts was to give Nani a new long term contract :/
  15. I've had this several times too, same as Cake it's been my work computer where I don't save bookmarks and therefore go through Google
  16. Voted for Barry, good performance and what a goal
  17. I definitely believe that Wigan wouldn't have been relegated if Alcaraz and Ramis had been fit for the majority of the season. I think Ramis turned down West Ham and probably higher wages just to work with Martinez, but ended up missing most of the season. Hopefully Alcaraz stays fit following this latest set back
  18. I think the outcome of the derby might well make the difference between 4th or 5th. Also whether or not another striker comes in this month
  19. I think Martinez is the man to get the best out of him, more than any other manager in the prem. As he did with Maloney, a player who struggled at Villa but became a real talisman for Wigan. Roberto gets players expressing themselves with confidence, the word negativity just isn't in his vocabulary
  20. West Brom 2 - 3 Everton Mirallas

    Hi!

Well I've loitered around reading the forum for a few weeks, and now have finally signed up. Seems like a great forum and a great collection of members My story is.... I'm not strictly a toffee, but I have a few reasons that I now follow Everton quite closely and want you to do well, very well. Firstly I'm a massive fan of Martinez, I'm from Wigan originally and I used to watch him in my teenage years playing in front of 3000 fans in the old Fourth Division! I knew he was destined for big things and hopefully he will bring trophies to a great historic club like Everton, it seems a perfect match (I would have been gutted if he had gone to Liverpool last year!). Also my better half is an Everton fan and I now live close to Wirral. So basically I've been mostly converted and ended up following Everton more than Wigan these days. Looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully European football next year Edit - it was the old third division not fourth. I.e. after Premier League formation but before Championship came around. Still the lowest tier of the professional leagues though
