  1. When Villa came in for him the first time, he stayed with Wigan on the condition that Whelan would improve youth facilities. He's all about building up a club the right way, and I love that about him
  2. The vote is currently 12 to 3 (I'm one of the 12) - so most people agree with you, myself included. Personally I've just said that for 'a game' it's something that might be worth considering. It's hardly wild and dangerous experimentation to rest one player and replace with another first team player against a team that can't score at the moment
  3. I'd be very happy with that team, and also equally happy with Barkley coming in for Mirallas, either way looks good to me. Rest one of Barkley or Mirallas and give the fresher legs of Gerry and McGeady a chance to rip them a new one Edit - I seem to have forgotten what I wrote only an hour ago haha, where I said play Barkley and choose between Mirallas and McGeady. Combine my two posts and I guess I have my own answer.... Gerry, Barkley and McGeady for me, and rest Kev.
  4. He's had quite a few disciplinary issues definitely. I can't see this happening, as TonkaRoost said he will be on a pretty high wage and I would expect him to be going to a regular champions league club in the summer
  5. I agree about Gerry, I think he'll start. Not sure about Osman, personally I'd rather it was Gerry, Barkley and either McGeady or Mirallas as the 3 supporting Lukaku
  6. Everton have had the top scorer in the top flight more often than any other club. 12 times in total, Arsenal second with 11. Bit of pointless trivia I noticed when looking at some football league records on Wikipedia. (Bored at work, and yep pretty sad too haha).
  7. Great one moment, crap the next. Potentially could be a very good fit and kick on to the next level, however I can't see this happening. He's at his boyhood club and getting enough game time to keep him in England contention as well. Guess it depends on the transfer ins and outs at Old Trafford in the Summer...
  8. You've won me round I'd be happy enough to see that line up tested out for a game, it would be interesting to see how it goes.
  9. That's fair enough, and I'm also just offering my opinion and I have no issue with anyone else's Personally I believe we should start with Barry and McCarthy and plan B should come during the game if required, if things aren't gong well. Hence my vote above
  10. True but we're debating the best use of the current Everton squad. For me including both Barry and McCarthy is making the best use of the players available this season
  11. Take away one of Barry or McCarthy and replace with Barkley playing 'box to box' and the full backs will be even less of an attacking threat due to us having less defensive cover. Barkley will also be less of an attacking threat because he will have greater defensive responsibilities. Barry and McCarthy have been two of the best and most consistent players all season
  12. It seems as it was going slightly wide it would / should have been a yellow, only a red if on target. Very bizarre.
  13. I could be wrong, but I think the confusion here was that Dunc thought you were saying 'he won't jump ship for anyone', as in he won't leave no matter who comes in for him? Whereas what you were saying is 'he won't jump ship for JUST anyone', as in it would have to be a huge dream opportunity for him to go. Correct me if I'm wrong though but I think that was where the crossed wires were?
  14. Newcastle 1 - 2 Everton Deulofeu
  15. Interesting. Shame that Rodrigo didn't get to play then if it was him!
  16. But then 4th would only get Europa, so we'd definitely have to finish 5th or miss out on Europe at 6th place. (I think!!). Although I do think we'll finish above Spurs anyway
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2272321.stm Wow 12 years ago! That must be why I wasn't sure. It's on YouTube too haha
  18. Would normally be rooting for Spurs tonight as an English team in Europe, but I can't stand Sherwood. So full of himself. Tactically inept as well, he got lucky with a few results early on and thought he was the dog's bollocks. Just picks as many attacking players as possible and then hopes for the best.
  19. There was an article on the BBC the other day that listed the 10 most likely scenarios of what happened, it was an interesting read although I'm not really a fan of conspiracy theories. Didn't Buzz Aldrin once punch somebody in the face for saying he never landed on the moon, or did I dream it?
  20. It's that chubby LFC fan who's been on TV a few times doing various impressions, he's doing Martinez now and saying his objective is to win the cup and get relegated, etc, etc... To be fair he's usually pretty good with the voices, he's just not amusing at all though
  21. Fat prick. Don't mind banter if it's funny, but that was just shite
