I think the only shambles is that we have let central defenders go (our weakest position at the start of window) without replacements yet. I can see the same issue as when Lukaku left without replacement.

Who we got left,  jags, Keane and Holgate! That could see us in relegation fight. 

He is not a natural goal scorer, but natural goal scorers seem to settle for that and not really improve throughout his career. He always give 100% and will continue to learn until he is great. I believe he is the type of player who will not suddenly stop improving, he will continue to improve until he becomes one of the best English forwards (like Harry Kane has), or gets injured and never makes it as far as he could.

We have to not forget, he has just won the U20 world cup, scoring goals, and is our best forward already at the age of 20.

I wouldn't change much for this game. Baines in, if fit. Lookman for Lennon.

Its possible Mirralles stormed out of training and Schneiderlin followed him to maybe sort him out, rather than storming out.

This would explain the story about both leaving the training pitch and also explain the reason Mirralles apologised and Schneiderlin has not (and should not).

Defence Worse - Keane Good Signing, Coleman worse due to injury, Rest older and in decline.

Midfield Same - No Real Change (except maybe Barkley not wanting to play).

Attack Worse - Lukaku not replaced, Delboy not replaced, Barkley no longer wanting to be here. Other positions improved, but now very narrow.

I think we will struggle now this year due to not replacing Lukaku and feel out first team has now declined.

Should have got Bacca as a stop gap.

We only have to say a players being sold for the media to give the player the 'top team biased article'. Hold on Sky, we haven't sold him to a media favourite team yet!

Aubameyang much better player for our system, Sigurdsson too slow and got enough midfielders. We need an explosive attacker.

He looks like he is a couple of year younger and a few pounds lighter since he has joined.

We need Lukaku to come out and say "Everton have now proved they have the same level of ambition as himself, and I am signing a contract". Then sign another striker to add to him.

Not the Barkley thing directly down to Martinez, he gave him the chance. Barkley is just the player with the contract running down and the stance of "no player will be allowed to run contract down" has to be made, and Barkley's that player.

I believe if it was Lukaku with 1 year left, and Barkley with 2 years, it would be Lukaku given the ultimatum. We cannot let players run the contracts down if they are valuable. Its always been that way for everton (Arteta, Piennar).

I think Martinez let it get so bad (with players getting away with everything and the manager not be in control) that Koeman had to do something to get the control and respect back.

Naisse: If I don't want you, you will be gone.

Barkley: If you try and run your contract down, you will be sold.

Fringe Players: If you are not good enough, you can't hang around collecting a wage.

Sunderland: If you over price a player (Kone), we will walk away from the deal.

I don't think anyone expected us to get top 4 this year? Most didn't expect us to be top 8 never mind top 4!!!

 

It's a shame you feel this way. Because it is clear what the plan is, for me.

 

We have to trust that Koeman, having worked with these players just about every day for 6 months, decided we could risk losing some and we'd have enough around Finch Farm to fill any necessary gaps.

I am not expecting top 4 but I expect us to try and push for it next season and the next 16 games with the player here would have helped for next season. Team already used to playing together.

I feel not getting the players (or at least a few of them) in January has made next season impossible because we will need first half season for team to gel.

out of curiosity, what players did you expect us to sign for these positions?

I'm not the scout, people are being paid to find these players we obviously need. I can not believe Walsh and Koeman have not seen these positions need filling (or need cover in) and have not found the right players. It was obvious we wanted a striker and once Belfodil was cancelled, it did not look like there was a plan b (as usual). Koeman also said we need cover for Bolasie, and we ended up loaning out delboy.

We have won a couple of games we should have won against lesser teams, and now everyone happy with the virtually same squad which has been dire most of the season

Hopefully I am jumping the gun and we have lined up players. Maybe Emerson is coming once turns 18 next month. Maybe Ghazzel is going to sign a pre-contract to come on a free in Summer. Maybe a deal for Keane has been setup for the Summer. I doubt it.
