Spurs (FA Cup Home) Wednesday 10 February
AlbanyNYToffee replied to markjazzbassist's topic in Match Days
With that bench I don't like our chances in extra time and with Lloris in net I don't like our chances in pens. If it takes Spurs scoring early for us to come out and play a more open game I'm in. I love Carlo but I can't watch he and Mourinho play the 'knick a goal' game. -

Why not throw Small and Broadhead on the bench? -

Better have the lead cuz no one there is coming on to score. Siggy in for what we have to assume is an injured Gomes. Hopefully he's not out too long. James and Pickford still not fit. Really happy with the back 4, hoping to still feel that way in 2.5 hours... -

So quiet. Nerves? Folks just busy working? Need help with my morality/conscience: As a Yank I promised myself a few years ago that I would not miss any FA Cup Final Everton qualifies for. Will cost me $700-800 round trip and can get there and back in about 30 hours. That said, would I be a horrible Evertonian if I had some doubts over whether I want them to make the final this year? ...considering I obviously cannot attend. I'm torn over whether this degree of selfishness is justified considering all that I invest in them mentally and financially. -

The stat always comes with question marks but at one point Jags was clocked as being the fastest player in the league. -
Manchester City (Home) Wednesday 17th February
AlbanyNYToffee replied to markjazzbassist's topic in Match Days
I stand corrected. They hit the earliest possible date. This has been scheduled for Wednesday February 17. Man City are crushing right now without KDB but I think it's still fair to say I hope he isn't fit for this one. -
Carlo doing his best Roberto impression. Please get some new legs out there.
-
Now get James on. Slow things down. It may not work but neither is what we're doing now.
-
Yea like every time he gets the ball. Somewhere along the way he lost his willingness to take defenders on.
-
Nailed on penalty. VAR is a joke.
-
Never seen Carlo show that level of emotion/anger. He was PISSED at DCL there. Rightfully so, Richarlison sprinted 70 yards for that.
-
HAHAHAHAHA Get in Gylfi. Still hate you as a player though.

Always wanted to see Besic succeed but unfortunately just never worked out - Gbamin-esque at this point. This conversation sent me on a quick research mission. Bobby Brown Shoes left the club in May 2016. The squad that year appeared to have 28 players. Of which only 3 are still in a blue shirt. Coleman, Holgate and Besic. FWIW Besic was signed in July 2014. Wow. P.S. Bobby's last two signings before getting sacked...Shani Tarashaj and Oumar Niasse in January 2016. Another wow. -

Josh King

Decent fee. We'll get him on a 3 yr deal and we can always look to sell him this summer or next winter for a similar fee. Fulham apparently finalizing Josh Maja so it's looking more and more likely this is our signing. -

You can thank Steve Walsh for that. We weren't talking like this under Roberto. We were just screaming about our historically bad defending. I hate myself for feeling this way because he's seemingly a total knob but I don't see any other options at this point and in fairness he is a winner. I want us to sign Diego Costa. Eh just threw up a little bit. -

Yea I agree scrambling is definitely the wrong word. If they were concerned about needing a striker they wouldn't have let Tosun go to Besiktas yesterday. They either know someone is coming in or feel they don't need anyone else. -

Get the sense we thought we had Zirkzee done and are now 'scrambling' to find another. Josh King is tough because his contract is up so I doubt he'll want to come here to play back up while he tries to impress his next club. I don't think I want him here beyond a loan. Eriksen definitely not happening. I hope we're waiting out Real Madrid and we can pull off Isco at the deadline. -

Agreed. We're doing great at sorting things out for big business this summer but we can also find 2 loans now that will keep us in the conversation for Europe. They don't have to be mutually exclusive. -
