  1. Firm believer in, it's not who you play it's when you play them. West Ham were in great form coming in, needless to say we were not. That's a big three points and clean sheet. We can go to Chelsea this week with confidence. Someone rile up that gutless chicken Costa and get him sent off.
  2. PL season is so long it's important to break down into segments. 15 pts through 8 games is very good. Not great but very good. Next 5: A Burnley H West Ham A Chelsea H Swans A Southampton Rest of 2016: H Utd A Watford H Arsenal H Shite A Leicester A Hull It's been mentioned how difficult December is going to be. Oct/Nov paramount. Normally don't rate these early games with such importance but if we want top 4 we need to win 4 of the next five. December presents three tough home games and three sneaky away games. All have the potential for dropped points. Utd doesnt have Europa that week, same goes for Arsenal/Leicester with Champs League. What do we need next 5? What's a realistic point total for December? I'd say 10.
  3. Just a few (hopefully) quick points: I think your/some fans' expectations are slightly high. We have a number of things working against us - no european football, jan window inflation, team morale - to buy replacements for Gana and Bolasie. Whether we like it or not the vast majority of players (Oviedo, Kone notwithstanding) come to Everton with the expectation of regular first team football. We aren't good enough and we don't pay them enough for them to be happy on the bench. Any plan to buy Gana replacement means Gana/Barry sit upon Gana's return. Likewise any plan to buy Bolasie replacement means Bolasie/Mirallas sit upon return. Surely Deulofeu is already frustrated and Mirallas is a tempermental little bugger. My point being this club cannot, IMO, buy replacements for those players who will be missing for the same amount of time as if they pulled a hamstring. That being said there is still a clear need for a 2nd striker. This is of utmost importance, especially with Rom's continued threats to leave. Need to be prepared for that. Love, hate or tolerate, Rom is the most important player on the team. We are dreadful without him. 2nd striker absolutely critical. The other big one for me is GK. Joel is a joke and though Stekelenberg has played well i would like to see a quality keeper in his 20's arrive. Lastly, sort of reverting back to the Gana point, i would like to see us sell McCarthy and find a long term replacement for Barry. Barry and the new lad can play during ACON and Barry can fill in when needed February-May. In summary: Buy ST, GK, CM Sell McCarthy Kone Niasse Joel
  4. Way way behind on asking this but going to anyways...as an American completely unfamiliar with the city, is the appeal of the docks strictly its waterfront or are there other advantages when compared with other sites that have been mentioned?
  5. Perfection Stek Holgate Williams Mori Baines Gueye Davies Gerry Barkley Bolasie Valencia
  6. Fantastic gesture. Great result. COYB Quick side note: In my 10 years of watching the premier league i have never seen a performance from a central defender like Djilobodji. His performance was so awful it really cannot be described properly.
  7. IN: Stekelenberg, Gueye, Williams, Bolasie OUT: Howard, Osman, Pienaar, Hibbert, Stones, Ledson LOAN OUT: Grant, Griffiths, Garbutt, Galloway, McGeady, Tarashaj LOAN IN: Valencia KIDS: Sambou, Renshaw, Hilton, Baxter, Calvert-Lewin EXTENSIONS: Gibson, Dowell, Davies
  8. Changes since Feb 27 2016. Legitimate owner Replaced RM with RK Hired DoF Replaced stones, howard, osman, pienaar and hibbert with Williams, Stek, Gueye and Bolasie and 2.4mill in the bank Kept Rom More stadium progress than previous 10 yrs Sissoko chose champs league team (thankfully), Lucas perez chose champs league team, witsel chose european comp. Kone, Gabbiadini, Carvalho, Brahimi all kept by current team. Gabbiadini for 30m vs. Valencia on loan seems like a wash to me. Valencia has at least played in the league and had some success. He's better than kone and we dont have to buy. Thats why its called an option. This whole argument about deadline day. Leicester, Chelsea and Stoke were only teams to make significant signings. We should be happy that we dont consider Robson-Kanu, Mbokani, Arbeloa, Hendrick, Ndong, and some ManU u-23s as great signings. Mid-April was my lowest point as an Evertonian. We are miles, MILES, ahead of where we were just 4-5 months ago. RM fucked us so badly there is only so much that can be done in each window. Top 10 by january within striking distance and RK/Walsh/Moshiri will sign more players and push on for european football. To me that is being realistic.
  9. Haha i understand that. If they are confirmed ill be posting an expletive laced tirade.
  10. Completely agree. However Valencia for 14.5 and sissoko for 30 would undo all the early greatness. Rather do nothing but watch niasse and mcgeady leave.
  11. IN: Stekelenberg, Gueye, Williams, Bolasie OUT: Howard, Osman, Pienaar, Hibbert, Stones, Ledson LOAN OUT: Grant, Griffiths, Garbutt, Galloway KIDS: Sambou, Renshaw, Hilton, Baxter EXTENSIONS: Gibson, Dowell, Davies Two days left. COYB
  12. Perhaps we can sell mirallas now? Petulant little schmuck that he is.
  13. IN: Stekelenberg, Gueye, Williams, Bolasie OUT: Howard, Osman, Pienaar, Hibbert, Stones LOAN OUT: Grant, Griffiths KIDS: Sambou, Renshaw, Hilton, Baxter EXTENSIONS: Gibson, Dowell, Davies
  14. I'm always glass half full but this realization got me a bit upset this morning. When we kick off against Liverpool in December it will be more than 6 years since our last derby win in any competition. 6 f***ing years.
  15. IN: Stekelenberg, Gueye OUT: Howard, Osman, Pienaar, Hibbert KIDS: Sambou, Renshaw, Hilton, Baxter EXTENSIONS: Gibson Dowell, Davies
