  1. Late to the party as I dont check in on the weekend. Just two quick notes: 1. I'm consistently the over-positive one on this board and I will keep that going. These games are why being an Everton fan is so special. Family, atmosphere, effort, courage. When those things combine into one performance I just sit there in complete and sheer delight. I dont want billions of dollars, i dont want diego costa ability, eden hazard ability, john terry ability, mesut ozil ability, yaya toure ability, raheem sterling ability etc. More than anything, more than any trophy, i want players who pull on the blue shirt with pride and show their effort on the pitch. Trophies are short term examples of superiority. Family, atmosphere, effort, courage are lifelong endeavors only the best achieve. 2. That was the best performance by a match official i can remember. take a bow michael oliver, that was a proper job.
  2. Agreed except at this point i think that is completely our opinions. So far with 3 at the back we are outscoring our opponents and keeping a clean sheet. Mirallas put an end to that scoreline and system with his ridiculous play. I hate the system. Hate it. However we have yet to determine if it can be effective for Everton - way too small a sample size.
  3. 1. Give away Mirallas. Literally drop him off in London and tell him to figure out. 2. Sign Yarmolenko 3. Sign Javi Martinez as CB 4. Sign Joe Hart Whatever is left invest in the stadium
  4. Alot of season left but as an American I spend the 2nd half of the season consumed with Summer Tour rumors. Anyone heard anything? Obviously want them back in the states again.
  5. Crickets.....What's going on over there across the pond?
  6. Haf touched on it briefly. I wasnt able to watch the game - whats up with Lukaku's non-celebration? Purely frustration from a poor game or more in it? Really dont like seeing that.
  7. Sell Stones to Stoke???? 40m and Begovic is a huge yes for me
  8. I respectfully disagree with you and Haf. First off i disagree with your premise that defending 101 calls for men on the posts. Absolutely not true and i am not arsed about that at all, plenty of folks support two men on the posts and plenty don't. I would much prefer to have two extra men able to win the header then have them trying to clear the ball off the line after its won by an opponent. McCarthy is irrelevant - ball was in with or without Rondon's influence. Joel was off balance and leaning to come get the ball, im not saying he left his line, but he was caught in two minds. Thats what led to him flailing like a fish as he tried to go collect the ball. I guess my point is that, having been a defender for 15 years (and im not saying you didnt play - i have no idea), i fully expect my gk to punch that ball over the bar for another corner. Having said all that, we defend corners like a sieve and its completely embarrassing. Ball never should have gotten to Joel but it did and he fucked up.
  9. Don't let him have an influence. Piece of shite that he is. Need to score twice before he awards a dubious penalty to let Bournemouth back in. Robles Coleman Stones Mori baines McCarthy Barry Gerry Barkley Cleverley Lukaku Subs: Mirallas, Niasse, Osman
  10. Like it or not these games happen. Absolutely battered them and were tremendously unlucky. For me the biggest issues from the match are the same two we have had all season. GK and Kone. Joel absolutely 100% at fault on the goal. Hes in no mans land moving toward a ball he has no business coming for. Looping header in the air for days and ends up in the net. Unacceptable. Howard would be toasted for that and rightly so. Terrible goal to concede. Kone complete and utter disaster. Should have been mirallas. Dont have any issue with Deulofeu for lennon or osman for mccarthy. Cant have 7 attackers need room to break them down, which we did. Just couldnt find the finishing touch. Attack Bournemouth and advance. Get the win at villa. Massive massive game at Goodison vs West Ham. COYB
  11. Many options, some more realistic than others: Top 3: CL Group Stage 13 POINTS OFF TOP 3 4th: CL Qualifier 12 POINTS OFF 4TH 5th: Europa Group Stage 6 POINTS OFF 5TH Winning FA Cup: Europa Group Stage IN 5TH ROUND 6th/7th: Europa if Man City defeats Liverpool in Capital One Cup Final and/or Champions League Qualifier wins FA Cup Any position: FIFA Fair Play results UNLIKELY Did I miss anything or get something wrong? What do we do from here Blues?
  12. Has to be full team celebration whenever they score next. Hopefully against stoke in the first minute
  13. 3 pts absolute must for me. Not so much for the league table but for retribution. I want to see us flying about going up 2-0 and dominating the rest of the way. If i was RM i would have the team sit in the locker room prior to kickoff and show the last 10 mins of the game at Goodison. If the players dont come out firing after that sell them in the summer.
  14. Say what you will about this season, to me the only question that needs to be answered with regard to his job status is this: The Summer 2016 transfer window will be the most important window in many of our memories given the status of your "young guns", old farts and goalkeepers. Do you trust RM to BUILD AND MANAGE a squad that can compete for top 4 in 2016/17?
  15. Completely agree - just saying he is filling a role we dont have out there. Ossie needs replacing. Pienaar/Baines combo can provide the width and creativity to get down the flank.
  16. His ability to run down the flank is invaluable in this game. Not going to get that from ossie or ross.
  17. Why should a manager give a shit about our footballing history? He cant buy back Dixie Dean, he cant buy back the mid 80's. All a manager is concerned with is his ability to be successful. It's easier to be successful with a great squad, large transfer budget, large stadium, large fan support, great chairman/CEO. Difficult to say right now where Everton sit on that scale with regard to Stoke, West Ham, Leicester, Southampton
  18. Why do 'beautiful football' and passion have to be mutually exclusive? The answer is they don't. I'm all for beautiful football but not at the expense of simply winning a mother fucking tackle. FFS I am so fucking sick of watching most of the team dick around with the other team in possession. I'm sorry but to me this is an issue with the players not the manager. I've never had a coach say dont try to dispossess the other team, dont stick a leg in to win the ball back. It's fucking bullshit and the players need to be called out for it. Oviedo thinks his leg is going to shatter if he makes a standing tackle. Stones will dive in all over the place but is completely unwilling to make a simple standing tackle. Mirallas, Deulofeu, Barkley, Rom FUCK OFF - complete joke defending. Being a 'forward' doesn't preclude you from making a tackle every now and again. You cant have a tiny portion of the team (Mori, Baines, Barry) willing to make a tackle and the other bunch not. Grow a fucking pair, win the fucking ball, and pass it away 'beautifully'. Everyone always talks about how demanding and difficult the prem is. All that is is a measure of how badly each team wants to win. If you show up home or away and expect to win because you are more talented you will not win. Show up to the fucking park and put a fucking shift in and you will win. I dont give a flying fuck if we win 17-16, 10-9, 4-3, or 1-0. If you show up ready and willing to compete you will win more often than not, the scoreline is irrelevant. We make this shit out to be rocket science and it isnt. Talent and team spirit equals trophies/wins. Talent and no team spirit equals mid table. No talent and team spirit equals mid table. No talent and no team spirit equals relegation. Look at the fucking table it is so fucking blatantly obvious. What do Leicester, Tottenham, West Ham have that we dont? A fucking set of nuts. I have never taken a 'hiatus' from this team in my limited 7 years as a fan but if we dont put in a fucking shift against City i am done until the next derby. We dont need to win and we dont even need to advance. We need to show the fuck up, strap on our boots, bring out our lunch pails and outwork them. That work rate will be massively important the rest of the way even if it doesnt pay immediate dividends against City at their place. Lastly, sell stones immediately for 40m or more. Have complete faith in jags/mori and 40m in transfer money more than any team with stones in it. And lay off Rom. He's been carrying the squad for two months, clearly exhausted.
